I saw this when I was little and read the book but I forgot about it until now. I actually cried a little because of the memories. I also had no idea when it was released.

The best Cinderella story ever and the baroque music is just wonderful! No speaking parts were needed except "Hear Ye"

This is the exact story I remember, but I knew it as a book! The art style immediately triggered the memory of the scene where they close the dang door on her poor foot!
Cinderella's wig is on point.
Grew up watching this cartoon back when I was about 7-8 years old now am 36 and still remember it wow nostalgia indeed almost shed a tear lol.

I saw this in school when I was a kid. I had no idea it was an NFB film, by the same person who made Dinner for Two (which I saw in the movie Children First).
At least one of the sisters waved back when Cinderella waved at them goodbye

I saw this short at least twice on Eureka's Castle as a child and absolutely loved it. I got the book version in third grade and loved it just as much. This short is a wonderful classic.

This is really good. It has a really nice ending. A piece of music that is heard in this is also heard in the Star Trek episode The Squire Of Gothos. There is also a Pink Panther episode called Pinkeralla. The cult BBC Schools radio series Music Workshop also did a story based on Cinderella.

This is a really good video. I do remember seeing this years ago. The best piece of music is the wedding music at the end. The music heard when the invitations are delivered is also heard in the Star Trek episode The Squire of Gothos. The cult schools radio series Music Workshop did a version of the story. There is a Pink Panther cartoon called pinkerella.

I was wondering if someone could help me: I saw this Cinderella cartoon long ago and saved it to a playlist, only for the video to have been deleted from RUclips. I can't remember enough details to properly search for a replacement, all I remember is that Cinderella had a dog who wore an eyepatch, the king appeared to be much older than Cinderella, and it's the only film version I know of where Cinderella finds nobles for her stepsisters to marry (and the nobles turn out to be similar to the stepsisters, who were fat).

OMG my parents bought this book for me (in French) at those Scholastic Book Fairs and I loved it 'cause I loved penguins and I mean Penguin Cinderella - - - that poster in the background at 8:45, it's a penguin mockup of a classic artwork, I remember it was crisper in the book and it was the first time I'd seen a variation on that artwork so that work I now always associate with medieval penguins.
I'm am so much prouder to be Canadian that now I realize that a) that book was Canadian, and b: my (parents) tax dollars funded this.

I get the book a lot at my school's library, and this is the first time I've noticed it in the copyrights section.
Yep, this was actually an animated film originally. I used to see it a lot on TV back in the 80's.

I'll give Perlman some good credit for redrawing those scenes for her book than to simply take the film and create stills for the purpose. Sometimes that always seems like a cheat when they do that.
