- In this video we look at How to Grow the Mountain Rose succulent, and in particular the Rare Giant Form.
Known widely as Greenovia Aurea as well as Greenovia Dodrentalis it is now reclassified and is correctly called Aeonium Aureum. Also known as the Lotus Flower Succulent for the shape of the flower. James Lucus from Succulents Australia tells us about this rare aeonium, and then we show you how to repot the Giant Mountain Rose.
This is a summer dormant succulent and grows actively from autumn/fall through to spring.
Watering in summer is just enough to stop the soil from drying. Fertilise his applied in autumn/fall and watering is more frequent during active growth.
A well drained potting soil is essential and this is plant that naturally grows in dappled shade rather than full sun.
