  • Eastridge Mall lays on the far west reaches of the Charlotte Metropolitan area. Today, this mall falls upon hard time, but there might be hope on the horizon. Let's see what the Eastridge Mall has to offer.

I went to Ashebrooke High down the road and frequented this mall in the early/mid 80's. The third floor had a Shoney's Big Boy, Piccadilly, multiple food court type restaurants and a video game arcade. The front entrance use to be where the escalators went up to the third floor. I have a lot of fun memories and the 80's rocked!

As of Jan. 8, 2022 our Eastridge Mall is still Going Strong. I live one mile away from the Eastridge Mall, I go to the Mall a lot.

I grew up in this mall, in the mid to late 1990's...it was awesome! the third floor had a food court and full arcade!

Grew up a few miles from there. I have heard that the reason floor 3 is closed is due to a loss of structural integrity. In the 80s I remember being up there feeling the floor shake. Too much weight and foot traffic and Father Time took its toll.

Following up on my recent update. The recording studio isn't open yet but it is going to be called Legacy Music and will be located on the second level near Belk. We didn't walk the entire mall but all the anchors are still occupied with two discount stores, Curt's and Teddy's where Sears and JC Penney used to be, Belk and a Dillard's Clearance Store on each end. Also, the kiddie train and rental pet scooters for kids are back open. Definitely not a dead mall...not yet anyway and hopefully never.

This was a fun mall to go to back in the '90s and I remember eating at the food court on the 3rd floor. I also remember it being under construction.

It is rare that you visit a mall that I have been to. I visited this mall in early 2004 when I was doing work training in nearby South Carolina.

Is there seriously a “Wannabe Vigilante Mall-Walker” here?

Vigilante Mall Walker - that's great. I can see that as the title of a bad 80s horror flick. Enjoyed the video, as usual. This place isn't far from me though I haven't been there. I agree with others who suggested Monroe Mall. It's definitely struggling.

My girlfriend & I just went to Eastridge last weekend. It looks about the same as in your video, even during the pandemic. You'll be happy to know that Teddy's Discount Emporium has moved into both floors of the old Seared, err I mean Sears. We didn't feel comfortable taking pics or video since there were quite a few people there. You might want to stop by again when you're in the area for an update. Thanks for doing what you do. We just found your channel about a month ago and really enjoy your style and commentary.

Interesting mall. My local mall experienced the same name changes as this mall. It was owned by Westfield as “Westfield Shoppingtown Vancouver mall” and was renamed “Vancouver mall” when Westfield sold it in 2015. It looks like this property has been filled in mostly with small mom and pop shops. You can clearly make out where national tenants use to be here. Although I’m not sure if this is sustainable. Only time will tell.

I despised the Westfield Shoppingtown . Nobody ever called Fox Valley Westfield anything.

Oh, I used to work at this mall. I worked at Camelot from 93 to 96. Crappy job with crappy people and manager but the mall wasn't too bad. It sure has gone down hill. I remember County Seat, GNC, Morrison's, Tracks, etc. Good time to be a teen. I used to get my check cashed at JCPenney.

I was at this mall today. There were even less stores and people now. GNC is moving out. But I liked the mall, no lines or crowds!
