It really became a favorite of mine after watching the series since it fits Judau's character so well. Whereas Kamille and the Zeta Gundam were a good match due to Kamille wanting to be quick and precise with things, the Double Zeta and Judau were more of the brawler/grappler/heavy hitter type and are all about dealing the most damage possible at once.

I had heard about how ZZ has one of the most powerful power generators ever put inside a mobile suit and that it even exceeds the also enormous power generator put inside the Kshatriya from Unicorn, which was made about 20 years after ZZ. This power generator is what lets ZZ use the high mega cannon on its' for head, which is a battleship weapon. ZZ is also still a functioning effective mobile suit in Crossbone, which I believe takes place about 50 years after ZZ. So yeah, that mobile suit is pretty broken.

Scythe GuyZZ it has some pretty big drawbacks. First, unless in full armor mode, it drains almost all of the ZZ's energy and secondly, it has a pretty high failure rate after repeated use. So not only does it render the ZZ nearly useless after using it, it also risks destroying the energy reactor if used too often.
A lot of people don't like the first half of ZZ following Zeta, but it needed to happen in order to provide some levity after the ending of Zeta. A more optimistic protagonist like Judau was needed as well in order to stand up to the adults and their ways of thinking by actually challenging them and showing them why they were wrong in their approach to doing things.
Paul Cornejo I watched it yes double zeta is combining but why everyone is specifically reference based combining jokes ? It id because an srw thing or an inside /m/ thing ?
In my opinion it's a gunpla joke. Transformation gimmicks don't work, but last year Bandai was finally getting it together. However part forming still lingers.

ZZ was so powerful it was still better than mobile suits made 20 years after it. It's ridiculous and I love it.
