Just ran a half marathon with this exact shoe. It was strong for me up until mile 11. They felt heavier. But overall a solid shoe for the price point. I look forward to putting more miles on them.
Sounds like you're putting them nicely through their paces! Good to hear they're holding up for the price point. I picked up a pair of Ghost Max 2 last week. I took them for a break-in run that included a few warm-up miles and a 5k at 10k target pace followed by a cool down mile. I liked almost everything about the shoe. The ride is incredible for easy pace and slower long runs. It felt fine at my 10k target (high 7s per mile) but the weight was noticeable. Ultimately, I had to return them though because the hardened part on the outside edge of the toe box rubbed on my little toes causing irritation that would lead to blisters. However, if that weren’t the case I would have kept them and been happy despite the weight. As a replacement I picked up a pair of Hoka Mach 6s and am very happy so far.

Thanks for the review. Been running in the Ghost & just tried new Parkrun Ghost released to celebrate Parkrun 20th Birthday. I must say though it's a nice looking shoe, Brooks missed the mark with not making it in the Max vs. The laces were also very thin & cheap looking compared to other Ghost laces. Also the price was A$250 or about £145. Had to give it a miss.
Which hoka model would you say this is closest to? More like a Bondi or Clifton? Also, is the updated foam firmer than the old one? Is it more like the firmer but more cushioned bondi foam, or the softer but less overall cushion of a clifton, or more responsive like a mach? Thanks!
Hey there! I'd say it's closer to the Clifton 9. Wasn't a fan of the Bondi as it felt too bulky - this one doesn't. Id say the Ghost Max 2 is ever so slightly firmer than the previous version. Marginal though! -A
Hey i have a question Alastair .I wear glycerin gts 21 in size US 10 Wide 2E. Should i get the same size in ghost max 2? How is the fit width wise and space and volume in the toebox
You’d be better off with a more stability focused shoe. Search for hurricane 24 on my channel for a better suited shoe that is stable and also very cushioned
i just wear these as just a daily walking shoe. great for my feet. i am not a runner. love these things.
They’re awesome
l like most the neckline of this model.
Nice and soft!

Thanks for sharing! The Mach 6 are a great shoe too - very different though! :)

When I tried the ghost max 2 on, it felt exactly like the Gel Kayano 31
Interesting! It also feels a lot like the Glideride Max!

Give the Max 2 a try - it's awesome, I prefer it to the normal Ghost

Hi.
Good review.
What are the 3 most durable models Brooks(upper part of the shoe) road-running sneakers?
Hmm, probably the Ghost Max 2 but all of them have very durable uppers

Hey, yeah both those shoes are consistent in sizing for the normal width so I'd recommend sticking with Wide 2E for the Ghost Max 2. -Alastair
Would u recommend this shoe for someone that underpronations
