No need to throw away your air mattress when you've a hole. Follow these simple steps to quickly identify the leak and repair the hole:
1. Locate the breach by spraying the air mattress with soapy water. BugWhere it bubbles, there's the hole.
2. Melt the tip of a stick of hot glue gun glue over the hole and let dry. Be careful not to burn your fingers, and allow the glue to cool fully before touching it.
3. Wipe the air mattress down and you're ready to go!
A high quality air mattress should last you for years with minimal damage. They are great to keep around the house for unexpected guests, or for added comfort camping.

There are way too many videos out there with far too cumbersome of processes. This hot glue one works. And there isn't a four-minute lead-up to it. A :40 video that gets it done without rambling. Whoever made this video is the hero we all need. Thank you.
I consider myself pretty handy and I legit thought it was a straw, I appreciate the clarification; hot glue makes MUCH more sense 🤦🏼♀️
My son peed on my new Andy matterres n he is 3 y/o, while i was drying it out he wanted to have it n faced the dryer down on mattress n burned it in to holes at e places. Can you suggest anything to fix it too? What type of glue is it? These holes may hurt my bedsheets n it may ripped off from there
Excellent point indeed! If others could just follow suit 🎉
@@kritika462that's just a rod for a hot glue gun. As far as I know.. it's all the same type of glue.
This won't work on a air mattress that has a small rip in it. This video only shows a hole the size of a pin. Air mattresses get slice rips on them not small little holes.
You sir, saved the sleepover for my neices and nephews. 10 pm trying to get everyone to sleep and the mattress had a hole. Bigger than the one you put in that one so I broke out the whole glue gun, but it worked. Thank you very much for this video.
I loaned my 2 new Air Mattresses out to some family that took a trip and... I just patched up my older air mattress I had here using Your method and it worked Great so Far! I just hope it holds up for my family that is staying the night!!! THANKS FOR THE ADVICE!!!
Did it hold up?

What spray did he use
@@That_Handleyes it lasted many years.

What worked for me was preheating the area using a torch then mig welding the hole. Then a couple of coats of bondo and done.
Gorilla glue stick in a glue gun. Worked great on an Intex air mattress with a 1/4" hole
Please just want to know if you did this on the fuzzy side?
I think the glue stick is part of the process. Pushing the stick on the leak spot might cause sone of the glue to go INSIDE the mattress and form a lock of a dirt to keep the hot glue patch in place. I wouldn’t just drop the glue from a glue gun on the leak. It might need the pressure of the stick to push s tiny bit of glue inside the hole which dries and keeps the patch in its place. I’m guessing but it feels right to me.
Glad I READ the description! 🙄
Thought it was a CANDLE!
Thanks!
Me too.smh
Bang Bang FAME! Me too!!
me too
Me too, expecally with the no sound and the person in the video not explaining shit 🤦🏽
Yo! This is THE BEST air mattress patching video online! Thank you so much for sharing! I'm a little surprised that it's the only one using this method. It took about as much time as your video. Thanks again brother!
Thank you, I think it worked. I liked that it was a solution that used something I already had in my home. I had to peel off the glue stick glue twice. The third time I put it on thicker and it seems to have worked. The hole was near the seam.
For anyone who did not read the description underneath the video, basically melt a hot glue stick with a lighter and rub it over the area where the hole is.
If anyone is interested, I just got a hot glue gun, (I couldn’t find a lighter) the hole that I had in the mattress was half of an inch, i put hot glue on it and then I got gum and put it over it. Then tape. It’s been 3 months and it hasn’t had any leaks. I recommend.
I used regular gum “Canes” it works perfectly.
Thanks for that. We have this issue occur a lot but if the repairs are this cheap, we won't be buying any new air mattresses for a long time.
Yo thanks bro helped out alot. But my hole bigger so it took 4 whole glue stick but still worked
what the fuck, did you cut your mattress in half or something?
Not your hole 🤦🏻♂️
😂😂😂😂 glad it worked for you, wish me luck
@@gamingwithdrvampire1028 omg 🤭 LOL 🤣
WHAT WORKED FOR ME.
On a deflated mattress I found the hole and I took piece of plastic bag and pushed it in the hole to be the backing of the hole.
I had regular nail glue and I squeezed it in the hole to fuse the plastic bag to the back of the hole.
That fusing allowed the slit( shape of the hole) to stick together as well.
I had flex seal clear in my cupboard and I sprayed it once every couple of hours for about 3x, giving it time to sorta dry in between the sprays.
The next day I blew up the bed and gave it an extra spray for good measure.
It's holding up fine. I applied pressure when I sprayed the last spray to see if any bubbles was escaping.
This process makes sense to me because it's not just one side that is sealed but both sides.
I did not scrape the velvet off the bed
This sounds like a great idea, because air pushes out and the plastic bag inside mattress will automatically seal the hole even tighter if air tries to come out. But how do you push the plastic bag there? It's not easy I guess.
I still have a ceramic mug glued to a slab of wood, that nail glue is TOUGH!
Awesome thank you saved my vacation! Had a glue stick and lighter in my work bag! Tried super glue and duct tape but this worked perfect thank you!
So I have Super Glue ! I am about to try to fix these 2 holes ,you think it would work?
Tara Bass super glue didn’t work for me.
My wife found a quicker solution that worked to my surprise ..a piece of bubble gum in the hole with a piece of duct tape over it ...and it's a good size hole in the mattress. Hope this helps someone that doesn't have a glue stick nearby.
Humble one does the bubble gum have to be chewed or as is just the stick??
@@karinagonzalez6615 Double Bubble .. chewed up , it only worked a short time . .a couple days . Until we had to buy another bed. Very temporary.
TY so much... I had a cut in mines from a 9 year. The mattress was only a week old. With a huge cut in it. Repaired and slept on the same night
Its a really tiny hole but I'll try it
@@libramoonxoxoxo yeah, sadly it only lasted about a week. I just went a got a mattress lol.
Are you serious, there is even drama HERE in the comments lol! Just lookin to patch my Airbed 😜
Lol that's funny, my wife just asked me as we were reading the comments "why do they need to argue about this" , and then I read your comment.

Drama under all video comments 😅 sad isn't..
@@johnnyjones12 crazy!!!!
I've tried them all and this is fast and it fucking works! No waiting for glue to dry for eight hours!
My advice after trying this:
1. He's using a glue gun stick, not a candle. Candle wax will not be strong enough
2. Do not try this while the mattress is fully inflated unless you want liquid hot glue flying back into your face 😅
3. If the hole is large enough, melt the glue stick (or multiple sticks) and plug the hole with them. Then melt additional glue around it.
I don't hear any more leaks from mine! Wish me luck 🤞
Thanks bro
How long till you ride it to the floor 😀

As of june 10 2023 6 years ago still this video helping others you just save me today. thank you.
Chewing gum and duct tape did the magic for me. Never deflated again...No complains.

If you don't have a glue stick, why not?
I tried everything and your idea with the gum worked I can sleep now, thank you!
@@ambarvidal5641 if the gum doesn't work try a hot glue gun glue stick and a lighter dont melt it until it's to hownto burn a hole and let it dry afterwards make sure you take all of the air out of the bed before doing this
Lol this worked just tried it thanks man
We struggled with every other method then tried this, and it worked. Thank you! =)))
Please just want to know if you did this on the fuzzy side?
Yes, on the fuzzy side and it worked better because the hot glue had something substantial to meld to.
Finally! My first successful patch! And it was so easy, and set up immediately. The hole I patched was about 1/4 inch slice.
Yay! We are glad we could help!
Did that happen to be on a seam?

you must cant read
It's in the bloody description mate lol
Tee Bone he's using hit glue to fix a hole in the air mattress
Buddy Love you must cant write a correct sentence
It’s self explanatory
I'm seeing a lot of people who have tried gum in the comments and a few for those who it hasn't worked or only worked for a few days and I think I know why. First off you have to use chewing gum (though any gum should work as long as it's chewed first without a lot of moisture in the gum). Secondly you HAVE to clean the spot first where you are going to be applying the tape or it won't work no matter what repair you are going to try. Also if you have one of those mattresses with the felt like tops you have to remove that material or the tape won't get a strong enough bond to the area.
How do you remove the felt top material?
@@neonliights anything sufficiently rough should do it. I think I used the other end of the pushpin I was using (you know the ones with the clear ends that you using to hang things). Just something that won't accidentally put another hole in the mattress. You could even use something like a plastic knife or a nail file.
Would the gum thing work on a waterbed??
@@lesliecreech1993 that's a tough one, it might but I don't think it would hold as long as I think water would put more pressure on the seal than air does. Plus water would keep the gum moist. I actually switched from gum to taking the sticky part of the duct tape and scraping a bunch of that and creating a ball about the size of what I would've used with the gum. I then put that in the hole and then took a fresh piece of tape to seal over that and that seal lasted for months until I got a new bed. I would imagine that would be a better solution for a water bed than gum.
Did you do it on a deflated air mattress or inflated?
this fix is too fancy, duct tape and stick of chewing gum worked for me and it's been a year and still kickin'
Rickie pls how did u do that?
Rickie wow,, really?? IMA have to try that..
Well alright MacGyver
Rickie 😂
That’s what I did 😂😂
fucking brilliant. this is exactly what i needed. thanks.
spliff then when you lay on that air bed. Is it still good? Does it still stick?
This just saved me $50, thank you
You're welcome William!
Worked for me 💪
I just used dollar tree super glue and flex tape and so far its working. Fingers crossed tho cuz i literally just did it 5 minutes ago
I used the glue gun it worked really good for me.
Can’t wait to get home to try it!!!🎉🎉🎉
It’s not that exiting
U can use the gum trick but also remember to cut a piece of a plastic bag over your tape. U wanna cut the plastic 1 inch bigger so u can seal it over the tape. But towards the edge of tape, whole tape, and a inch around the tape rub a staples glue stick then apply plastic so it sticks. Thank me later
it works but I doubt it will last very long, I would recommend a $2 tire repair kit will last a lot longer
Thanks Rickie, the chewing gum and duct tape did the job on the felt side. Gorilla tape and Extra chewing gum.
Thanks this worked, I'm actually laying in my air bed after a long night of sleep, and no air leaked anymore
This worked for me, thanks
Glad it worked!
Worth a try

Ive probably gone through 3 air mattresses in the past year due to leaks and rips. Just came across your video , sitting here with a brand new fresh out the box Intex lol gonna go grab glue sticks and try this method on the past ones see how it goes
Just buy a bed

Hi don’t know if anyone else tried this if the hole is so small you can’t hardly see it I find a blob of superglue Is awesome you quickly wipe any excess glue with a towel as soon as you put the glue on you only want it to soak in that tiny area mines been fixed for five years like that and still totally air tight hope this helps also easy to do when out camping etc takes seconds
Massive crazy glue WITH duct tape over it, still hasn’t saved mine, and I tried that multiple times on multiple mattresses. I hope it works this time.
Genius!
Thanks this was helpful
I recommend getting a new one immediately.

Does this work if the side has a felt feeling to it?
What kind of cleaner is that? And is there a video for a hole on the edge of the mattress?
I think using the glue stick without the glue gun is part of the process. Pushing the stick on the leak spot might cause some of the glue to go INSIDE the mattress and form a lock of a sort to keep the hot glue patch in place. I wouldn’t just drop the glue from a glue gun on the leak. It might need the pressure of the stick to push a tiny bit of glue inside the hole which dries and keeps the patch in its place. I’m guessing, but it feels right to me.
Gracias funciono Perfecto
does this work over time or does the opening just come back or get bigger?
Works great for me I tried it today

Is that glue stick?
Can anyone tell me what exactly did he melt on top of that hole and where can I get one in Canada?

Hey hello I tried that but my hole is like dime but I don't know how I got it in the bed I tried the glue it did not work so I went to the store and got some flexi tape but I don't have a patch so can I use the tape on the hole or do I need something underneath and then I can put the tape on it
that's not a glue stick guys, now wonder some of you are having trouble. you need a lighter and a stick of pliable dynamite. just hold the lighter in one hand and... well just do like you see in the video and it will work like a champ I promise
Now how long did that actually last?
This hack has lasted over a year now!
Guess I'll be adding a glue stick to my repair kit
What r the material these are plz mention that using products
What was the stuff in the spray bottle at the end of the video?
Hi there, the spray is a surface-cleaning spray.
BestReviews thanks 😉
*ALMOST NOT EFFECTIVE*
The _"plastic glue stick"_ from the glue gun acts only as a binding agent and not actually a permanent sealing agent. I tried it with varied holes from pinhole to a small sized tear.
the glue stick itself wears immediately after several abuse and yeah, it will also gradually melt and creates a sticky feeling. not effective as expected. Try patching with tape and unflavored gum base if else.
*_MYTH BUSTED_*
Try using the pvc glue and repair patch toolkit that supported with the airbed. it had a reasonable price but it does the job done and it will last longer than this binding mess.
I hope you understand it.
What did he use to patch the hole ?
This works, tested on 2/16 when my nephew poked a hole using a pen. Thanks for the video dude!
So only 2 out of 16 worked with this method? 🤔
@@suhtangwong that's right :)
The awkard moment when hot glue is what caused the hole 😩
The cause and solution to your problem?
Hahahaha you dumb bitch
I think superglue would work as well
Maybe not. The hot glue is flexible and super glue dries hard.
@@Steveorino123 makes sense but for a small hole it's not required for it to be flexible since it isn't holding a patch just plugging a small hole, maybe not, lol
I believe it's a glue stick?
This doesnt work! Tried it twice today and air still managed to escape from the very small hole!
Sorry it didn't work for you!
Don't use a ' made in China' glue stick.😁 It will definitely not work. (Happens to me) Try another brand.

WHAT WORKED for me after trying many things, including bike patches, for a puncture along the seam of the bed on the velvet side:
Things needed:
- Superglue from the Dollar Tree
- Sanding block from the Dollar Tree or sand paper
- Gorilla Tape (cheapest one at $2.97 at Walmart, online and offline. This tape did not read "Sealing" in the label like other Gorilla Tapes, which cost $12.something and are made to seal air, water, and other type of leaks)
What I did:
- Sand area of the puncture well. No need to sand all the way down to the vinyl
- Put a thick lawyer of Superglue on and around the puncture (area size bigger than a quarter).
- Wait around an hour or so depending on the type of Superglue you bought. Don't let it dry fully.
- Apply Gorilla Tape as a patch
- Cover the patch with a piece of plastic bag from the store
- Roll a 10+ pounds weight plate over the covered patch or use something heavy to press firmly on the patch to get rid of any bubbles.
- Leave the weight plate or some other weight on the patch for a few hours.
Done. I don't know if the glue, the Gorilla Tape, or a combination of both did the work, but it worked beautifully on two Intex airbeds. 3 more to go!
Anyone know what the spray thing is
It’s glass cleaner. Not important. Any all purpose type cleaver to get any dirt off is all that’s needed. I’d wipe it off with plain water in a rag afterwards to be sure any soap residue doesn’t interfere with the glue adhesion. And then I’d wipe the water off with a clean rag to dry it. That’s just me. You asked. 😅. Or use rubbing alcohol on a clean rag or paper towel to clean the area of the leak. ‘Clean’ is all that’s happening with the spray bottle in the pic. He’s not trying to find the leak, he just made the hole. Look at this one:
