Thanks for the information. I did buy my replacement radio for a 2003 VW Beetle. I also bought the pre-wired harness which is wonderful. No worries about wiring! Everything went well (radio came on and worked) until I tried to slip the new radio in; and found not enough room. The Crutchfield instructions show a piece in the back of the opening that has to be cut out with a hack saw to provide enough room for the radio. Off to get a hack saw that will fit.

But maybe you can search for the stereo you bought and see the harness shows up as a "You may also like" type offer. Otherwise, I would try emailing crutchfield and let them know what you need. I thought it was the normal rear light area, but now I’m thinking it’s the light below the rear lights on the bumper. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2010 VW New Beetle.
I use crutchfield.com every time I order a stereo. The website is super easy and shows you the stereos that fit and also suggests all the other parts you'll need to install it. They even included the special tool that you'll need to remove the stereo (it's special to german cars). If they offer the ReadyHarness option, get that also. They do all the wiring for you so you don't have to do that part. It's literally just plug and play.
