      Great that I can help;) what about the temperatures at your place? Is freezing bubbles an option?

    • @winrapha
      @winrapha 3 года назад

      @@anotherperspective3076 so it’s not an option because here in Brazil it doesn’t snow and I don’t have a cooler to do this but it’s really cool to see this experience through your channel other experiences taking this one out to do that with the mirror lamp and the bubbles still, thanks for responding, I didn't even know it would be possible to exchange messages with you: P your ideas take my tedium out because you can't go out here to take a picture so it's almost all indoors

      Great you liked it :) With a little bit of glycerine the bubbles dont pop and have enough time to freeze without breaking

    I bought glycerin, created a 80% water - 10% glycerin - 10% dishwashing liquid solution. Emptied my freezer and I thought maybe I can also create some cool looking macros. It didn't work, so it seems like now I have to wait until winter to make a similar video hahah

    • @anotherperspective3076
      @anotherperspective3076  3 года назад

      Did you try to freeze your bubbles there? Someone elso also asked if that would be possible... seems as if the answer is no:D At night the temperatures drop to 0°C but I think the frozen soap bubble season is over:/

    • @PhotoOwl
      @PhotoOwl 3 года назад

      @@anotherperspective3076 There are some issues trying to do this in the freezer
      Positioning the camera is difficult because the place is small. If the door is open the freezer warms up very quickly, if the door is closed, you don't see anything :D If the freezer is runnign that's too much shakiness when filming in macro.
      I might give it anoher try, but it's definitely not ideal.

    Loved watching this. I tried it myself and it is a lot more difficult then it looks. Just a little bit of wind is disastrous. I tried in the morning with the break of dawn and I didn´t like the ugly reflections of buildings in my pics. You mentioned you used a flash at night. Will need to try this if we ever have a cold night again. Any recommendation on settings on the flash? Thanks for sharing these cool images with us and your very comprehensive tutorials.

      On the last cold night here... I spent 4 hours of shooting frozen soap bubbles... and it was pretty windy...:D Sorry... I did a mistake, I used a flashlight/torch and not a flash. Alle images were taken with continous lighting.

    Lovely shots. Ah for better eyes so I could get a sharper focus. I prefer around 25 degrees F for mine, but I am getting older and the colder weather is ... less exhilarating than it was even three years ago when I started taking this kind of photo. You should warn people that it is addictive. :D
    I came here because I got a google alert on the Peta Pixel article but I am not sure why.

      @@anotherperspective3076 Probably because the title of my tiny little book "Frozen Bubble Photography: Tips and Tricks for Getting Started" shares a lot of words used in the article - but I kind of hope not. Because if that's it I think I'll be getting a lot of alerts in the days to come, what with the cold snap and lockdowns creating more interest in the subject.

    Awesome. I wanted to try that for years, but either I had no time, or it wasn't cold enough. Weirdly, I never thought about doing it at night 🤦‍♂️. No idea why 🤣
    What about a throwing cooking water into the air video? I'm having my friends in the mountains already doing some temperature tests for me to see how low of a temperature it takes for the effect to work.

    We have max -5 degrees, so frustrating watching my bubbles. They are not freezing, but I do...

    • @anotherperspective3076
      @anotherperspective3076  3 года назад +1

      Sorry... but thats too funny;) 2 ideas: Try small bubbles (the warm air inside the bubble keeps the bubble from freezing). Cool down your mixture to about 1°C. If that does not help, add more water or... wait till it is -7°C

    • @macsaikrisztina
      @macsaikrisztina 3 года назад

      @@anotherperspective3076 thanks! Will try to do that, but it looks like these are the last cold nights, and it just doesn't drop below -5.... But will try with more water and hope for the best!
