Majestic Moon Jellyfish

The moon jellyfish, also known as the moon jelly, is a species of jellyfish found throughout the world’s oceans. It is recognizable by the four circles visible through the translucent white bell, which are actually the reproductive organs, or gonads, located at the bottom of the stomach. These gonads are normally purple in color.
Moon jellies are an important food source for many marine animals, including leatherback sea turtles and other species of sea turtles. They are also a favorite prey of some open ocean predators, such as the ocean sunfish and the leatherback turtle.
