Hi guys, Cherry here with another short tutorial-style video. I wouldn't call myself a speedrunner by any means, but I do have an interest in mario 64 Speedrunners, and watching speedruns of the game. So, why not teach people about the BLJ, I figured. Enjoy!

When you said you wish means you wanted to have The Wario Apparition.
The Wario Apparition only appears in personalized copies of sm64 (mostly copies made before 1999)

This last BLJ can be useful, but not much, you need do this move in the right place to fall exatly on the door to metal cap
No one taught me the angle technique and I was never able to BLJ but now I can! Thanks!
*Stair BLJ*
To actually start the BLJ: make sure while mario lands, he slides 2 steps up. And then starts tapping.
For the best Results:
The tapping rate needs to be exponentional in the beginning. And at the end just as fast as possible.
*Elevator BLJ:*
Just tap as fast as possible
*Car BJ*
Find a GF

Dear players of sm64 trying to do BLJ.
BLJ doesn't work in Shindou Edition or in Super Mario 3D All-Stars.
Thank you been trying for like 3 hrs everyday for 3 weeks to do this on all stars

In mario all-stars it kinda works, by doing the same thing but long-jumping forwards.
because blj is patched, FLG just doesn’t do anything

I love this just became the way of going up the endless stairs
Heres a better way to do the 50 star door: Land your BLJ on the first-fourth step of the stairs. Wait until the 4th frame of marios long jump, and mash a. Kind of hard to pull off, but trust me, when you get used to it, youll do the blj almost everytime. I 2 attempted this once on a 16 star run.
The slight angle tip helped me so much thank you

it only shows what it says if you interact with it
note: it also depends on the controller how easy it is. I'm currently playing SM64 on Switch online and while I was able to BLJ with the Joycons it was hard to mash consistently and very tiresome. As soon as I switched to the pro controller, which is way more responsive, I actually was able to do more BLJs easily
Try B A C K W A R D S long jumping. Hope that helps!

Can you show me how to do it on keyboard(I’m not playing illegally, I have a Pokémon stadium N64 console)
My problem is I am doing it (btw thank I didn't know I could just hold the Z-Button down for that) but in a lot of cases Mario just makes a normal jump even if I do everything right. Any help?
Edit: Never mind, figured it out - You need to mash A already in the air.

I’m using the new switch N64 thing, and I keep getting SUPWR close then failing
If it’s Mario 64 through the online app, it’s definitely possible, might be finnicky with joy on drift though.
If it’s through 3D all stars, that one uses a slightly different version unfortunately and it won’t work

hey I've got a question, I'm trying to BLJ but then I do a good chunk of it and then mario stops long jumping and starts triple jumping

@@Bikumori you gotta do it in thid order: 1. Z 2. A. So you can long jump. How About BLJ? Long jump and go backwards. When you land on the stair hold z and mash a while going backwards.

as i remember you go in any direction, crouch while going in a direction and press jump

My one problem with Super Mario Allstars is that they got rid of BLJ’s.

Allstars Mario 64 is based off the Shindou Version (The version for the n64 that added rumble pak support, etc)
It... unfortunately patched out the BLJ and a few other things
