Waaaaay better than the live action movie but I still have a hard time calling it good. But all my issues with it are technical ones. Weird sound mixing. Wonky animation in places. Lackluster voice acting (mostly in the dub) Stuff like that. The story itself really isn't bad though. It's simple but good.
@@mechanicobra yeah, the weird mixing, the weird animations (especially on the hunters, monsters seem okay) make it pretty hard to watch, at least i can have fun recognizing nods to the games etc. Still I hoped for a little more polish coming from just finishing mhworld

Props to the Congalala, not every monster can hold their own against the Devourer, especially when they're low in the food chain.
Either that or other monsters are closer to Deviljho tier than people think.

with how budget this animation look, its probably a concious decision not to include it

本当ですよ。猟虫はナナ・テスカトリからエキスを取った瞬間に攻撃を喰らい主人に最後のエキスを届けて息絶え主人が村人を守ろうと1人で挑み、仲間が駆けつけた瞬間噛み殺されます。（たぶん頭から）
あと鍛冶屋で元スラッシュアックス使いの凄腕ハンターもナナ・テスカトリ戦で至近距離からブレスを喰らい亡くなります。
えなにそれ狩るか狩られるかみたいなやつめちゃ見たい
ゲームでできる要素を出来るだけ取り込んでアクションにしてる心意気がすごい。

This was how everyone thought the Godzilla vs Kong fight would go down.
I mean. It kinda is. Godzilla beat up kong twice and lost once because he accidentally charged the axe. Without the axe kong wouldve lost unfortunately. And then since godzilla was tired and alone mecha wouldve beaten him

I love seeing any classic fights from games being turned into a full fight. In games they can be cool and all, but since they will always have to fit the game's pace and not be too difficult while also giving you some breaks...it ends up looking like, well, a game. But when they can make a fight be as complicated and interesting as we imagined they would be for those enemies in an anime/show/whatever, it's always great. Not only the enemies tho, it's also cool how they can make the main characters fight without being restricted by gameplay. And i always love it, even if it's simple like this one
That's how it is but that's honestly not how it has to be. We actually have the tech to make such an immersive experience full gameplay, but there's no monetary incentive so the game studios rarely invest in improving that experience. Fighting games are a great example. By now we should have full on fighting game MMORPG's & a story campaign for each character, that actually serves as a tutorial for the character & the game at large. DOA remains the only title to deliver "stage shifting" cinematics that really add the engagement. There's no game where the characters talk during the fight based on what's happening like FIFA commentary but it's actually the characters talking to you. I could go on but I've typed too much now

This small scene is already a hundreded times better than the live action movie that came out a couple years ago.
Joe acts like Joe should, super agressive and hard to deal with.
I like the detail that when he is paralyzed you hear his skin instantly shink back to normal as he's forced out of a inraged state.

I need the Kinsect to be this OP in Wilds! I love the additions Iceborne and Sunbreak gave it, with the diving thrust drill technique and Awakened Kinsect explosion, but I want to be able to interact with it like a palico/palamute in Wilds, give pets and treats for stunning the monster while i'm in the middle of a locked animation from attacking.

This is definitely the closest we'll ever get to seeing old monsters in a turf war. (In this case, it's Congalala. 🧐)
In the adaptation: Paralyzed hunters are ignored even when they're just screwing around.
In the games: Both Congalala and Deviljho will definitely make the paralyzed hunter their priority target.
This actually feels so accurate to an actual monster hunter battle, especially the constant whiffing of attacks cuz of weird hitboxes xD
That being said… wth is this sound design and why did deviljho have the rajang roar???
I think the real question is why the congalala put up a fight

そろそろワルモノを舞台から下ろすかって時間になると、ワルモノは良い者側の強さを見せつけるため、途端に手抜きを強いられでもしたように精彩を欠いた闘いを始める。

またモンハンのCGアニメを期待してます。
今作はゲームの設定をしっかり踏襲して武器などのアクションもゲームのイメージを守っていると思います。ゲームと同じように戦闘シーンがメインだったのも良かったです。
