"who would win: one man's sensory overload VS. another man's special interest" is probably the most important sentence ever spoken

Rhys Darby said in the Only Runners podcast that he thinks he has undiagnosed ADHD, and that some of the things he does are "spectrumy", so I'm pretty sure he actually is ND. I don't know about Taika Waititi, but I get big chaotic hyperactive ADHD vibes from him. 😅

Every "Ed interacting with an insect" moment is highly relatable as someone who gets sensory overload from the sound of buzzing and has screamed like that at a fly before

I'm autistic myself, and it's honestly nice to feel like I can relate to both of them in some ways without the show explicitly mentioning autism, since I don't usually have that with most fictional characters I actually enjoy watching. Loved the compilation!

I didn't clock Ed's echoing when I was watching because it's just so direly normal to me to repeat like just a couple of words after someone says something you need to retain sometimes or if it's just a very good string of words, but yeah no you are in fact 100% correct. I can't un-know that now. Same hat, leather pirate! Same hat.

Love it! This past year, I've (finally) been realizing that I'm most likely autistic and ADHD, and I've been lowkey processing that through, what else?, pop culture. It's been wild to discover just how many of the shows I've deeply loved over the years have such Big ND Energy (ex: Doctor Who, Parks and Rec, Pushing Daisies, Good Omens)--it's like the fandom side of my brain was trying to tell me something all along! I love Our Flag Means Death so much, and I realized what an ND power couple Ed and Stede are just in time to go stir-crazy waiting for season 2, lol. This video scratched the exact itch I was looking for: so many perfect examples, and I love your little additions, especially the echolalia counter and the commentary on the "Blackbeard's Bar and Grill..." conversation. I think I'm gonna watch it again right now. 😀 Thanks so much for making this!

Ok so I didn't know what echolalia was until this video, and now I have to thank you so so much because now I have a name and reason for the thing I do that annoys people all the damn time. I've had so many arguments with my brother about this that has caused me to actually consciously try to train myself out of it. I thought it was a stupidly irritating thing that only I did but no! So thank you :)
