Kelly should have been right under the line of scrimmage during those goal line attempts. Could have also went left and made it into the end zone. Wasn’t impressed with the Argos every time trying the same thing
@@SillySongs4Everyone2001 They blew it within 2 yards of the goal line quite a few times, I admit. But the front line takes time to adjust to a returning QB. If Kelly could perform so well after missing 9 games, then it says a lot about his ability to recuperate.
He played terrible. Interceptions. Balls thrown were without 'zip', and that's why they missed those touchdowns. He didn't look very good. Also, he should not be back in the CFL yet (at least 1 year suspension? The Argos punished the victim worse than the criminal). The Argos/CFL should have been much harsher on his punishment...It's ridiculous.
Who was worried with a FG, if a rouge was enough? It was all about distance. The kicker didn’t bother to aim. He just made sure the ball would go beyond the endzone. Great win.

So its 3rd & 15 at the end of the game and the Riders rush only 3 to give the QB time and they play back so they can complete a 15 yard pass. Can somebody with a higher football IQ explain to me the play call? Did the players just mess up?
Just my guess but: The idea is that the QB won't be able to run for 15, so keep all the receivers covered & he'd have to throw a risky ball... unless of course someone blows their zone coverage, then it's a wide open easy catch. 🧐🧐
@@5Cats That type of defensive scheme makes no sense in the CFL because in the CFL the players are running when the ball is snapped. So in a very short period of time the receivers are over 10 yards. So if you give the QB lime the chances of a completed pass is very high if the corners play back. That defense makes sense if your up by over 3 points and your just trying to prevent them from scoring a TD. That scheme has a higher probability in the NFL because the receivers are stopped on the line when the ball is snapped. I don't understand it at all. It's like they just gave it to them uncontested. Stupid call in my opinion.... unless the players made a mistake and played too far back behind the 15 yard first down line.
I also dont understand punting the ball at the back of the end zone. In the CFL thats almost giving them the game because of the single point rule on a missed fg. Might as well just gamble on 3rd down. Do the coaches not understand the rules of Canadian FB? Lol
They were dam lucky to even be that close. The Argos stunk leaving 37 points inside the 30 and 21 inside the five lol. Kelly was real rusty. But you are right they had a chance to steal it.
Being a Riders fan sucks, because they give you some hope, but it turns out they always suck. Always soft and gutless. In particular, the OL is pathetic. Most US high schools actually have better OLs. Those buffoons need to move on to selling life insurance and get out of football.
