Just to clarify, I do NOT hate pets go, nor do I hate anyone who worked on it. I simply just reacted to the video. Me personally am just not very attracted to pets go. So I am just going to be more active in pet simulator 99 instead!
AlphaGG this video is really unfair... Big Games clearly needed the money here... Pet Simulator 99 only made the developers enough cash to be able to buy seventeen superyachts, thirty-eight mansions, seventy-two helicopters, twelve private islands, two hundred cars, five hundred laptops, ninety-four celebrity cameos, and seventeen-thousand acres of real estate. That's just not enough........ Clearly they needed to pump out this garbage, generic, soulless, hollow, MrBeast style, assets bought for $10 off of Fiver, stolen concept from Sols RNG, embarrassing ripoff slop game so that they could make more money off of their playerbase full of ten-year olds by exploiting gambling mechanics... How dare you be such a meanie pie AlphaGG............
The issue with pets go and every other rng game is that there’s no core gameplay. Just dopamine, nothing else. Other games have gambling for progression and other reasons, whereas for this game (and other rng games) this doesn’t apply as they literally do nothing, and doesn’t help you progress. If you manage to get the 1/a billion huge let’s say, sure you can get upgrades but after that? There’s no more progression you can do. That’s it, and more dopamine. You cannot progress in this game. That’s just my take at least.

bee swarm simulator is the only non-gambling game that branched off from the typical simulator and thrived with tons of players. even 7 years later it still maintains 40k active players. One of if not the best simulator of all time that is still running. (Bgs was the goat and my favorite simulator of all time)
only problem with bee swarm is its to grindy lmao and youtubers cant just speedrun the game for good content or people will mostly never get pass the basic stuff but still the goat
As a player, the most addicting thing for me (or what causes me to have my account on the longest) is the token shop. The only way to get tokens is by afking, and it is the best option to get potions that give you a better chance of hatching something good. On top of that, having an economy gives us a reason to actually hatch-that is, to get “rich” in gems. No community interaction = less enthusiasm.
The main problem with the game is that there is no point to anything. Yeah there are upgrades to unlock but i completed all 205 upgrades within 2 days. After that the entire game is just to try and get better pets that do absolutely nothing different from the worse ones. There needs to be some gameplay revolving around having better and better pets otherwise there is not a single reason to have rare pets other than bragging rights or having alot of gems ( which are also pointless ).
Also games are supposed to be entertaining and fun to play which this definitely is not. The developers are smart with all the tricks they use to keep you hooked but its when you think deep about what there is to actually do in the game that you realise its just another money grabbing game. There are so many people afk grinding with 10+ alt accounts all maxed out, hackers, and youtubers spending £1,000,000 to get better pets than you ever will. Please somebody tell me where the fun is in this game
I mean, it's the same thing for every simulator that involves hatching eggs. Once you complete all the upgrades, which never takes long, the only thing you can do is just AFK and hope you get lucky or AFK diamonds,etc. All simulator games like this all just end up being an AFK rng game.
I agree with what you said its true, but i think the main reason people are hating so much is because these types of RNG games dont have any other purpose besides rolling and its very in your face unlike in pet sim or adopt me etc its hidden because you can do way more stuff besides just hatching for pets so people dont see them as gambling as much.
If you don't like RNG games don't play them. No reason people should be hating so much. It's not like Big Games Is forcing you to play their game or forcing you to buy their gamepasses.

As someone with a 15 year gambling addiction that has cost me nearly everything I can tell you it’s not gambling in the full sense of the word. I would say though that ever since my son got me to play psx with him 2-3 years ago, what was an uncontrollable urge to gamble has almost gone away. Now does that mean people without gambling issues will start because of rolling dice for pets or opening eggs? No. Could it trigger something inside a small percentage of people that could lead to a gambling addiction? Maybe. We are (mostly) all free to make our own decisions in life but all this over a Roblox game when every sports broadcast, especially here in the UK, has gambling plastered all over it seems a little over blown. Just my opinion👍
This is a great opinion and I love you play roblox with your son! But I believe corso is upset with pets go instead of say gambling ads at sports games is because other games with effort in them lose players because of this scummy game.

Pets go took 2 months and people like it, other games could take years of effort and devotion and nobody likes it. @@Lemons91 The problem is that BIG GAMES, the company that makes sorts of these "Pet" games sorely used sols rng's concept, which is just eternal roll, zero fun and infinite dopamine Which forethough tells that Pets go is in no way unique, and further this game also tries to bribe you with a big amount of luck boost for one roll if you try to leave after 30 minutes of playing the game, to bring you interest in rolling again, thus cashing preston even more playtime money they receive. This is just a saying preston wants YOU to continously roll in his soulless game instead of playing other fun games you want to play
The main reason why I don’t like this game is due to this game being the only alternative rng game to sols. When sols was popping off and was constantly at the front page, everyone was screaming about how the game was ruining Roblox and making kids gamble. Which is kinda reasonable, but I felt that the game wasn’t really bad, since the game is free to play enough to the point where you won’t need to spend anymore robux after you have bought the necessary gamepasses (which is only like 500 robux), kinda like bgs. The game also felt like a daily dose of dopamine, where everyday I get very excited to check my computer to see if I had gotten the aura I wanted. This also encouraged me to wake up earlier, and not just lie in bed for like 15 minutes after I wake up. I feel that pets go is the same thing, except with way lower quality rewards (pets) compared to sols (auras) with many very scummy and p2w gimmicks that completely differentiate the experience from an average player to a p2w player. Unfortunately the sols rng devs seemed to have lost most of their motivation and rarely work on updates for the game anymore, making anyone who wants even a fraction of their joy from sols have to play this scummy, childish game.

I really enjoy the game and I understand both viewpoints of this debate. I spent a lot of time on both PetSim and PetsGo. However one thing I feel is not talked about enough is that the vast majority of the playerbase are children. I know the devs want to earn money, but I do think some aspects of both PetSim and PetsGo are scummy and directly targeting children without income and giving them a massive fear of missing out by not able to buy the ingame passes and therefore fueling their desire to spend money the moment they get the opportunity to.

Honestly I think they should fully remove the double your luck aspect because it give pay 2 wins too much of a advantage compared to free to play. For example it should not be near impossible for a f2p player to hatch a huge or a 300m+ pet. Just because the game has less game pass dose not mean it’s “f2p friendly.
I think that the main reason why so many (most?) players are angry about is the existence of Forever upgrading Luck product in the Store (call it whatever...). If the game would have started without that product, NOBODY would have made such a big deal about it. A lot of people would complain about the game not having much to do but that would be it, nothing more. But the fact that there is this infinite upgrading P2W luck option, EVERYONE who can't afford to spend money on it are feeling salty. Because that is just the way people feel when they want to compete in something but there is an instant get to the top option for very rich people. You might say it does not help that much, but it is, it really is and it is breaking the game so bad... People waited for this new game with hopes of trying to get ahead, compete with players for top spots. Show of best pets... make good content about it... But instead, after a whole MONTH of PS99 not updating, where most of these players have spent most likely 1000+, even 5000+ hours in the game... all they got in this new game is: You want to compete? PAY! Otherwise stay mediocre. I get the developers side. Why not add it?... Clearly there are people who are paying. But the fact it is built in a way it is just make it so bad. So many Roblox games (developers) have a bad habit of not rewarding regular, loyal players who are not P2W. And it is heartbreaking. These are the people who are holding these popular games on their shoulders, keeping the games active. And all they see in return is their time wasted because they don't want to go the P2W way. Even restricting them of ever getting the best items.
In reality I feel like the entire game is just like any other simulator but way more simple to make it look like a gambling game. In my opinion the only real criticism that can be given is the buying 12 hour luck for absurd prices. I also think that the game is just grindy to be grindy and it is a cash grab which is expected from big games. I just think that there should be more elements to the game than just getting pets that do literally nothing and rolling the dice 24/7 for the chance of getting something good while destroying your PC.

@acurex249 Okay first of all, I don't think you know what "gambling your time" even means, because no, you do not gamble time with everything you do in life. There's a difference between spending time and gambling time. Gambling time is the same as gambling money, spending your time in HOPES you get something good in return or in hopes that it'll be worth it. That's what your doing with this game, spending hours of time in the game in hopes you get a good pet. If you don't get anything good, it's a waste of time. Even if you do, I personally still think it's a waste of time because it gives you like 5 seconds of dopamine. What makes it worse is that time isn't something you can get back unlike money. Spending time is when you spend time doing something you KNOW will be worth it or if you're spending your time doing something you enjoy. So if you spend your time doing school work, drawing, playing games, hanging with friends whatever, that's spending time, not gambling.

It is true that all simulators have auto hatch and similar "gambling" concepts. What makes Pets Go "scummier" is that there is no fun idea to it. There is no clever idea on how to get coins or upgrade. I feel like many other simulators at least have unique fun ways to get progression. Pets Go does not have a unique fun way to progress. (The game feels lazily made).
I don't consider rolling the die gambling. It is "luck" base. For gambling you need to have the risk of losing something in return of the chance of getting something
Yeah its called (money) robux so technically still gambling when losing money in return for pets is gambling no matter how ppl see it, also if f2p and dont spend money you are spending (gambling) time in my opinion on a game f2p players not likely to get anything good and yeah thats same for many games as I said just my opinion
About the pay to win, the problem is that the p2w players have an advantage when it comes to the main feature “rolling”. In 99 you can only buy gamepasses to boost your egg luck, and then use the rest on eggs that are separate from normally opening eggs. To conclude the problem is that p2w and f2p is mixed. The only way for a f2p to keep up with someone p2w is trading.
I know you mean well Alpha, the expiring progressively more expensive robux upgrade is indefensible. You might not be addictive to gambling but this is 100% targeted at those who are, in similar fashion to the forever pack. I'd argue that this one is worse as the benefit is only for a limited time. They should completely remove it and the forever pack.

as someone who has been playing simulators constantly since the release of bgs which got me into simulators, I can't remember the last simulator without a "gambling" aspect whether it's boosts or a robux egg with chances to not get a good pet, auto game passes and whatnot.

What about games like Doors though? That game is a perfect example of a successful Roblox game that isn't pay to win, looks like it isn't just a cash grab, and actually seems like the devs put passion into it. Sure you can buy revives, but they're super cheap and you can definitely win without them. I think we need more Roblox games like that tbh.

If i didt play simulator games 80% of what he said will be true, especially the bad history big games has with the community. The 20% is yes if you roll a dice and its not asking you for any money for Exchange, its not gambling but it gaves you the same feeling of gambling, even tho your not using money/coins, which can still lead into a gambling addiction overtime, this goes for ever simulator games including Souls RNG games.
The only gamepasses pets go doesnt have is auto farm and auto delete because for auto farm, u farm coins overnight and for auto delete, Preston has to make it where u delete basic, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary mythic and the rest but u shouldn't auto delete the ones u own or the ones that are important to u. Also there should be trading potions and items in the upgrade system that Preston should add
tbh i dont think ppl get addicted to the game because of the animation or how pets look. I think they get addicted because of the type of game it is, an RNG game, for example, Sols RNG was such a popular game in the summer. I also, think ppl like it because of ps99 when they had the rng event because you had been getting huges so easily and ppl think its that easy, but overall the game is just fun to some people, and its not the type of game for other ppl.
THE MAIN PROBLEM is it's tailored to kids. I'm critical of every simulator for the most part but big ganes in particular is extremely scummy eith their tactics for squeezing money out of kids. It's not just a few bucks either i remember pent sim and pet sim x had gamepasses for literally HUNDREDS of dollars.
The thing with games like these are that it incentivise YOU to participate in the trading market. Just like petsim99, X, 2, and 1. They all incentivise almost everysingle one of their player to join into the trading market, and without that, they would feel like they did enough progression, they dont feel like they do enough, and truthfully speaking. Besides trading, what other gameplay does petsim and pets go have? Now this wouldnt be a problem if it isnt filled to the brim with kids. But it is, and we know that kids are competitive about anything, they dont like to be left out of anything, they always chase other people progress regardless wether it eas realistic or not. And to me, that is the problem, because if trading is the main gameplay of a game, especially with kids audience, it incentivise these kids to spend money to do well in said trading, they want hatch better things faster, so they spent this amount of money. Or they want to have this exclusive stuff to sell and get gems faster, they spent money. Not to mention the fact that the design of the game or the UI is flashy and cartoony which is appealing to basicàlly any demographics. Now imo, that is the biggest issues. I can tell as someone who has known "big games" since the beginning, they would definitely add more stuff to the trading pool that would give some sort of progression boost thus incentivising players to join them. I am 90% sure. Now in the slight chance that they make trading purely cosmetics, it might work just fine. Still doesnr disregard the fact that these kind of games whos main mechanics is rolling something can gives undeveloped children brain a sense of comfort and safety around the concept of gambling which could lead to problems in their lifes later on of they kept on thinking that these kinds of thing is fine if done in a small amount, which, really isnt.

Kids being used to well "no money gambling" or NMG for short could affect children so bad that they could legit just go to a casino thinking that gambling is free. this causes a entire problem. don't forget about roblox being banned in countries. W vid and i think you are right its the same like all simulators. But simulators where you buy eggs you buy them with coins i think its more like gambling than clicking a free dice.
To add to this, The eggs in ps99 were kind of player created because of status, they were only as good as your best pet and cost a lot of money to get one, just for it to be a duplicate of your best pet. Id honestly say that it was better then the 2x, 4x, whatever luck. but again, its all opinion :)
the diffrence between rolling and eggs is that rolling is free in pets go so its easy to get addicted to "rolling" eggs are the same but they cost in game money so you can't open eggs so much so you can't get addicted to it so easly but still its nearly the same
Should we talk about how bad the near-miss was in the pet RNG event? like instead of showing a huge for 0.5 seconds, the event would stay on it for 2 seconds and then give you a trash pet.
Title confuses me Edit1: (first out of many probably): he calls this gambling, i wander if he ever played cs Edit2: i'm around 13 minutes into the video and as of now it seems like this guy is just ranting about this game because it's more popular than hundreds of other games with the same mechanics Edit3: About the greedy part, i'd say it is pretty bad but... i've played this game f2p and literally, spending money is not needed, i got almost all upgrades fairly quickly and the rest is just being lucky while afk Edit4 (probably last update because i just watched the whole video): comparing this to PS99 is just wrong, in my opinion PS99 is heavily pay to win looking at all the gamepasses, limited eggs and other stuff, this game is actually fairly f2p friendly, only 2 bad things i'd say are the diamonds which are (not counting trading) only available through paying robux, and the luck boost which imo is a bit of an overkill with the amount of robux you can spend with 1 click, ofc after you spend smaller amounts several times
Moral of the story, Roblox is a kids game the amount of gambling involved in Roblox is overboard and the amount of money that can be spent to have an edge over others entices children to want to spend money to be better then others when they don’t know any better and children do not know the value of money. It’s not about “go get help if u have a problem spending money in games” KIDS do not know better and they will want to keep spending. it’s not a matter of simply remove ur card or just stop spending money ROBLOX is played by adults but the main amount of players is CHILDREN. I believe they just need to keep just the 3 gamepass. Im F2P but personally don't dislike it but they need to add something like something you need to grind alot for something to get a better luck like the instant luck potions and keep everything on the same page when it comes to luck. Anything can be addictive, even a runner that gets a high off of winning a race or beating their best time can get addicted to running. I do think the "12hr luck" feature is more like gambling.

The difference between this game and other simulators is that you can gamble forever in this. A kid would become way more addicted to gambling if they could do it for as long as they want insteam of having to play for hours to be able to gamble for a few minutes. The issue isnt that its gambling, the issue is that its not gambling wich makes kids be able to do it for a lot longer than if it was gambling. this may not BE gambling but this will make kids more addicted to gambling than any other simulator where you have to play for hours to be able to gamble. and im not saying this about just Pets Go but it goes for every RNG game on roblox. I just think RNG games shouldnt be on roblox because its basically just promoting gambling to kids. roblox is a kids game so there shouldnt be so many games that is JUST GAMBLING like every RNG game is

I think If a game has an auto feature then they are admitting that their game is boring and the players well get more value doing anything else. Another thing is that the double luck thing should be permanent for how much it is.
What i hate about the game is the fact that u cant really get good pets without buying the luck multiplier even with the insta luck potions 3 which are hard to get doesnt really give u good pets like 100m or 50m
I am F2P and I got a 1 in 266m pet overnight. The only thing I've bought in Pets Go was the multiplier (2x luck) which at the time wasn't active because before I got the pet, the time ran out.

This game was ruined once I saw that you can continue to pay over and over into upwards of thousands of dollars worth of Robux to directly increase your odds past the usual game passes we have come to expect. There has always been an advantage for people willing to spend some money, but never before has it been so blatant and disproportionate.
Me watching this while grinding pets go On a more serious note, i really wish there was a f2p leaderboard the problem i have is you will almost never see a true f2p on the leaderboards because you will always be slower than the people spending money on for example the rolling leaderboard how does someone f2p get on the leaderboard when everybody on it has a permanent advantage thats it honestly i just want to see some limelight for the f2p grinders

Pretty sure the point about flashy animations is because of the fact that children are attracted to flashy things, which when they are exposed to it on platforms like RUclips, they are tempted to spend their money on the game just to try and get that same flashy animation.

I do understand you’re a big games partner but this was a very weak video to make when it feels very one-sided and to defend big games. I am currently in the process of making a video to rebuttal some of your points. I hope you will genuinely take the time to break it down and actually listen to these points.
I did agree that there are gambling aspects like the temporary 12hr boost, I was just saying you have to be honest about every other game with temporary boost cuz it’s all the same. And I don’t like the near miss effect. That should be removed. The only things I defended were the hatch animation being cool, The auto role upgrade and the fact that dice in this game is just like eggs in any other game. That’s just my honest opinions… I’m allowed to criticize big games. They have never threatened to take my partner away for having honest discussion about something. They don’t pay me. Nothing. I can say what I want and believe and I did.

The game is not F2P friendly and so creates the snowball effect making people want to buy 2x luck or more luck on the gamepasses. But the fact that the game doesn't in any way make it look like they want f2p players to actually have some chance of getting on the lbs makes it sad. For instance its like people getting the new Iphone and so of course and child would obviously want it to be cool. It kind of applies to this as well since they feel the need to compete with everyone else so they can get as good pets as everyone else, but really they aren't actually getting anything from it. Roblox guidlines states that "gambling" by their definition essentially is when the odds are not shown. So since the odds of pets or other chances like 30% chance for such and such pet or items, then its not gambling.

I personally really enjoy pets go. I’m not surprised people acting like this due to it being big games. I always have and always will say the the big games “Greedy” callouts are always very dramatic. Not saying they haven’t gone too far however it’s never as bad as a lot of people say due to like every game having to monetize to make money.

I agree with some of your points like the vfx BUT. I think you kinda downplayed the severity of near miss effect. The near miss effect could easily be used to get someone hooked on the game which may not sound like the worst thing on paper until you realize. That the rng aspect of the game is getting pushed to kids who are gonna grow up with this effect instilled in them. I don’t think I have to explain why that could be a bad thing. The issue with pets go and every other rng game is that there’s no core gameplay. Just dopamine, nothing else. Other games have gambling for progression and other reasons, whereas for this game (and other rng games) this doesn’t apply as they literally do nothing, and doesn’t help you progress. If you manage to get the 1/a billion huge let’s say, sure you can get upgrades but after that? There’s no more progression you can do. That’s it, and more dopamine. You cannot progress in this game.
That’s just my take at least.

bee swarm simulator is the only non-gambling game that branched off from the typical simulator and thrived with tons of players. even 7 years later it still maintains 40k active players. One of if not the best simulator of all time that is still running. (Bgs was the goat and my favorite simulator of all time)
Even BGS had robux eggs and robux boosts that you can spend infinite on and I liked the game

As a player, the most addicting thing for me (or what causes me to have my account on the longest) is the token shop.
The only way to get tokens is by afking, and it is the best option to get potions that give you a better chance of hatching something good.
On top of that, having an economy gives us a reason to actually hatch-that is, to get “rich” in gems. No community interaction = less enthusiasm.
The main problem with the game is that there is no point to anything. Yeah there are upgrades to unlock but i completed all 205 upgrades within 2 days. After that the entire game is just to try and get better pets that do absolutely nothing different from the worse ones. There needs to be some gameplay revolving around having better and better pets otherwise there is not a single reason to have rare pets other than bragging rights or having alot of gems ( which are also pointless ).
Also games are supposed to be entertaining and fun to play which this definitely is not. The developers are smart with all the tricks they use to keep you hooked but its when you think deep about what there is to actually do in the game that you realise its just another money grabbing game. There are so many people afk grinding with 10+ alt accounts all maxed out, hackers, and youtubers spending £1,000,000 to get better pets than you ever will. Please somebody tell me where the fun is in this game

I mean, it's the same thing for every simulator that involves hatching eggs. Once you complete all the upgrades, which never takes long, the only thing you can do is just AFK and hope you get lucky or AFK diamonds,etc. All simulator games like this all just end up being an AFK rng game.

As someone with a 15 year gambling addiction that has cost me nearly everything I can tell you it’s not gambling in the full sense of the word. I would say though that ever since my son got me to play psx with him 2-3 years ago, what was an uncontrollable urge to gamble has almost gone away.
Now does that mean people without gambling issues will start because of rolling dice for pets or opening eggs? No. Could it trigger something inside a small percentage of people that could lead to a gambling addiction? Maybe.
We are (mostly) all free to make our own decisions in life but all this over a Roblox game when every sports broadcast, especially here in the UK, has gambling plastered all over it seems a little over blown.

The main reason why I don’t like this game is due to this game being the only alternative rng game to sols. When sols was popping off and was constantly at the front page, everyone was screaming about how the game was ruining Roblox and making kids gamble. Which is kinda reasonable, but I felt that the game wasn’t really bad, since the game is free to play enough to the point where you won’t need to spend anymore robux after you have bought the necessary gamepasses (which is only like 500 robux), kinda like bgs. The game also felt like a daily dose of dopamine, where everyday I get very excited to check my computer to see if I had gotten the aura I wanted. This also encouraged me to wake up earlier, and not just lie in bed for like 15 minutes after I wake up. I feel that pets go is the same thing, except with way lower quality rewards (pets) compared to sols (auras) with many very scummy and p2w gimmicks that completely differentiate the experience from an average player to a p2w player. Unfortunately the sols rng devs seemed to have lost most of their motivation and rarely work on updates for the game anymore, making anyone who wants even a fraction of their joy from sols have to play this scummy, childish game.

I really enjoy the game and I understand both viewpoints of this debate. I spent a lot of time on both PetSim and PetsGo. However one thing I feel is not talked about enough is that the vast majority of the playerbase are children. I know the devs want to earn money, but I do think some aspects of both PetSim and PetsGo are scummy and directly targeting children without income and giving them a massive fear of missing out by not able to buy the ingame passes and therefore fueling their desire to spend money the moment they get the opportunity to.

Honestly I think they should fully remove the double your luck aspect because it give pay 2 wins too much of a advantage compared to free to play. I think that the main reason why so many (most?) players are angry about is the existence of Forever upgrading Luck product in the Store (call it whatever...). If the game would have started without that product, NOBODY would have made such a big deal about it. A lot of people would complain about the game not having much to do but that would be it, nothing more.
But the fact that there is this infinite upgrading P2W luck option, EVERYONE who can't afford to spend money on it are feeling salty. Because that is just the way people feel when they want to compete in something but there is an instant get to the top option for very rich people. You might say it does not help that much, but it is, it really is and it is breaking the game so bad...
People waited for this new game with hopes of trying to get ahead, compete with players for top spots. Show of best pets... make good content about it... But instead, after a whole MONTH of PS99 not updating, where most of these players have spent most likely 1000+, even 5000+ hours in the game... all they got in this new game is: You want to compete? PAY! Otherwise stay mediocre.
I get the developers side. Why not add it?... Clearly there are people who are paying. But the fact it is built in a way it is just make it so bad. So many Roblox games (developers) have a bad habit of not rewarding regular, loyal players who are not P2W. And it is heartbreaking. These are the people who are holding these popular games on their shoulders, keeping the games active. And all they see in return is their time wasted because they don't want to go the P2W way. Even restricting them of ever getting the best items.
In reality I feel like the entire game is just like any other simulator but way more simple to make it look like a gambling game. In my opinion the only real criticism that can be given is the buying 12 hour luck for absurd prices. There's a difference between spending time and gambling time. Gambling time is the same as gambling money, spending your time in HOPES you get something good in return or in hopes that it'll be worth it. That's what your doing with this game, spending hours of time in the game in hopes you get a good pet. If you don't get anything good, it's a waste of time. Even if you do, I personally still think it's a waste of time because it gives you like 5 seconds of dopamine. What makes it worse is that time isn't something you can get back unlike money.
Spending time is when you spend time doing something you KNOW will be worth it or if you're spending your time doing something you enjoy. So if you spend your time doing school work, drawing, playing games, hanging with friends whatever, that's spending time, not gambling.

It is true that all simulators have auto hatch and similar "gambling" concepts. What makes Pets Go "scummier" is that there is no fun idea to it. There is no clever idea on how to get coins or upgrade. I feel like many other simulators at least have unique fun ways to get progression. Pets Go does not have a unique fun way to progress. (The game feels lazily made).
I don't consider rolling the die gambling. It is "luck" base. For gambling you need to have the risk of losing something in return of the chance of getting something

About the pay to win, the problem is that the p2w players have an advantage when it comes to the main feature “rolling”. In 99 you can only buy gamepasses to boost your egg luck, and then use the rest on eggs that are separate from normally opening eggs. To conclude the problem is that p2w and f2p is mixed. The only way for a f2p to keep up with someone p2w is trading.

I know you mean well Alpha, the expiring progressively more expensive robux upgrade is indefensible. You might not be addictive to gambling but this is 100% targeted at those who are, in similar fashion to the forever pack.

What about games like Doors though? That game is a perfect example of a successful Roblox game that isn't pay to win, looks like it isn't just a cash grab, and actually seems like the devs put passion into it. If i didt play simulator games 80% of what he said will be true, especially the bad history big games has with the community. The 20% is yes if you roll a dice and its not asking you for any money for Exchange, its not gambling but it gaves you the same feeling of gambling, even tho your not using money/coins, which can still lead into a gambling addiction overtime, this goes for ever simulator games including Souls RNG games.

The only gamepasses pets go doesnt have is auto farm and auto delete because for auto farm, u farm coins overnight and for auto delete, Preston has to make it where u delete basic, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary mythic and the rest but u shouldn't auto delete the ones u own or the ones that are important to u. Also there should be trading potions and items in the upgrade system that Preston should add
tbh i dont think ppl get addicted to the game because of the animation or how pets look. I think they get addicted because of the type of game it is, an RNG game, for example, Sols RNG was such a popular game in the summer. I also, think ppl like it because of ps99 when they had the rng event because you had been getting huges so easily and ppl think its that easy, but overall the game is just fun to some people, and its not the type of game for other ppl.

THE MAIN PROBLEM is it's tailored to kids. I'm critical of every simulator for the most part but big ganes in particular is extremely scummy eith their tactics for squeezing money out of kids. It's not just a few bucks either i remember pent sim and pet sim x had gamepasses for literally HUNDREDS of dollars.
The thing with games like these are that it incentivise YOU to participate in the trading market. Just like petsim99, X, 2, and 1. They all incentivise almost everysingle one of their player to join into the trading market, and without that, they would feel like they did enough progression, they dont feel like they do enough, and truthfully speaking. Besides trading, what other gameplay does petsim and pets go have?
Now this wouldnt be a problem if it isnt filled to the brim with kids. But it is, and we know that kids are competitive about anything, they dont like to be left out of anything, they always chase other people progress regardless wether it eas realistic or not. And to me, that is the problem, because if trading is the main gameplay of a game, especially with kids audience, it incentivise these kids to spend money to do well in said trading, they want hatch better things faster, so they spent this amount of money. Or they want to have this exclusive stuff to sell and get gems faster, they spent money.
Not to mention the fact that the design of the game or the UI is flashy and cartoony which is appealing to basicàlly any demographics.
Now imo, that is the biggest issues.
I can tell as someone who has known "big games" since the beginning, they would definitely add more stuff to the trading pool that would give some sort of progression boost thus incentivising players to join them. I am 90% sure. Now in the slight chance that they make trading purely cosmetics, it might work just fine. Still doesnr disregard the fact that these kind of games whos main mechanics is rolling something can gives undeveloped children brain a sense of comfort and safety around the concept of gambling which could lead to problems in their lifes later on of they kept on thinking that these kinds of thing is fine if done in a small amount, which, really isnt.

the diffrence between rolling and eggs is that rolling is free in pets go so its easy to get addicted to "rolling" eggs are the same but they cost in game money so you can't open eggs so much so you can't get addicted to it so easly but still its nearly the same
Should we talk about how bad the near-miss was in the pet RNG event? like instead of showing a huge for 0.5 seconds, the event would stay on it for 2 seconds and then give you a trash pet.
It is even less like gambling, because in other games the ggs cost in game currency or robux, while in this it is free to roll.

Moral of the story, Roblox is a kids game the amount of gambling involved in Roblox is overboard and the amount of money that can be spent to have an edge over others entices children to want to spend money to be better then others when they don’t know any better and children do not know the value of money. The difference between this game and other simulators is that you can gamble forever in this. A kid would become way more addicted to gambling if they could do it for as long as they want insteam of having to play for hours to be able to gamble for a few minutes. The issue isnt that its gambling, the issue is that its not gambling wich makes kids be able to do it for a lot longer than if it was gambling. this may not BE gambling but this will make kids more addicted to gambling than any other simulator where you have to play for hours to be able to gamble. and im not saying this about just Pets Go but it goes for every RNG game on roblox. I think If a game has an auto feature then they are admitting that their game is boring and the players well get more value doing anything else. Another thing is that the double luck thing should be permanent for how much it is.
What i hate about the game is the fact that u cant really get good pets without buying the luck multiplier even with the insta luck potions 3 which are hard to get doesnt really give u good pets like 100m or 50m
I am F2P and I got a 1 in 266m pet overnight. The only thing I've bought in Pets Go was the multiplier (2x luck) which at the time wasn't active because before I got the pet, the time ran out.
This game just feels incomplete, its not bad at all on its own though.
They should have released this with more content.

not watching a 32 minute video to check if this was said, but personally, i despise the fact that the whole trade economy is based on robux. the supply of pets will always increase faster than the supply of gems bought by idiots trying to achieve the best pet they could purchase. the whole trade economy is suffering because gems will always remain constant, IF NOT NEGATIVE - BECAUSE THERES A BOOTH TAX AS WELL...
This game was ruined once I saw that you can continue to pay over and over into upwards of thousands of dollars worth of Robux to directly increase your odds past the usual game passes we have come to expect. There has always been an advantage for people willing to spend some money, but never before has it been so blatant and disproportionate.

Pretty sure the point about flashy animations is because of the fact that children are attracted to flashy things, which when they are exposed to it on platforms like RUclips, they are tempted to spend their money on the game just to try and get that same flashy animation.

I do understand you’re a big games partner but this was a very weak video to make when it feels very one-sided and to defend big games. I am currently in the process of making a video to rebuttal some of your points. I hope you will genuinely take the time to break it down and actually listen to these points.
I strongly agree with a lot of these points and will also make a similar style video.
I did agree that there are gambling aspects like the temporary 12hr boost, I was just saying you have to be honest about every other game with temporary boost cuz it’s all the same. And I don’t like the near miss effect. That should be removed. The only things I defended were the hatch animation being cool, The auto role upgrade and the fact that dice in this game is just like eggs in any other game. That’s just my honest opinions… I’m allowed to criticize big games. They have never threatened to take my partner away for having honest discussion about something. They don’t pay me. Nothing. I can say what I want and believe and I did.

The game is not F2P friendly and so creates the snowball effect making people want to buy 2x luck or more luck on the gamepasses. But the fact that the game doesn't in any way make it look like they want f2p players to actually have some chance of getting on the lbs makes it sad. For instance its like people getting the new Iphone and so of course and child would obviously want it to be cool. It kind of applies to this as well since they feel the need to compete with everyone else so they can get as good pets as everyone else, but really they aren't actually getting anything from it. The game just seems too basic and too much of a money grabber to actually seem worthy of a good game and I agree the game is scummy. Defo seems a but on sided on your vid.

Roblox guidlines states that "gambling" by their definition essentially is when the odds are not shown. So since the odds of pets or other chances like 30% chance for such and such pet or items, then its not gambling.

I personally really enjoy pets go. I’m not surprised people acting like this due to it being big games. I always have and always will say the the big games “Greedy” callouts are always very dramatic. Not saying they haven’t gone too far however it’s never as bad as a lot of people say due to like every game having to monetize to make money.

I agree with some of your points like the vfx BUT. I think you kinda downplayed the severity of near miss effect. The near miss effect could easily be used to get someone hooked on the game which may not sound like the worst thing on paper until you realize. That the rng aspect of the game is getting pushed to kids who are gonna grow up with this effect instilled in them. I don’t think I have to explain why that could be a bad thing.
