Okay okay wait so I saw this video last month and quickly started looking for it auditing jobs. Well safe to say this video did me well bc I got the job!! I studied a lot and the interview went great! I’m currently in the negotiation stage and came back to this video and glad I did bc I was about to sell myself short lol
Thanks for the information, just to let you know, the CISA Exam is available at anytime at a test center or from home. Also, you can have most likely any degree. I’m an IT Auditor and I have an Accounting degree and know someone else with a Business Administration degree.
You’re absolutely right. When I got into the field it was mostly IT degrees and those in accounting that transferred over to IT Audit. It’s a whole new world now that new blood is needed in the industry
I stumbled across this video as I was looking for workout videos lol. I actually just started as an IT Auditor about 3 months ago and I am learning A TON! It was a bit overwhelming at first honestly but I have an amazing team that I work with and is grateful for them walking me through this. I was in an IAM role for about 4 years prior to landing this role and I also have a degree in Criminal Justice. The company that I work for just purchased the CISA prep course this week and I’m excited to start this journey! Kinda nervous about taking this exam because I don’t have a lot of the technical background but small thing to a giant…I got this and I’m so glad that I came across this video. Much needed reassurance! ♥️
I just recently passed the CISA, though I have background both in finance and IT, CISA is more about policy, governing and less techie. Just study hard, I'm pretty sure you will pass in flying colors. Goodluck

I’ve been doing this for years! I also fell into this by dumb luck and have been doing so well! I do not have a CPA, do not have a CISA - (note on CISA you have to have experience to get licensed.) I’m an IT Audit manager in IL making over 100k with 30+ days off a year and a great work life balance. I love it so much. When I started my career in audit I didn’t have a clue how it was supposed to go. I just had my skill sets and understood the underlining principles. So there was on the job training. With any job they’re going to show you how they do it unless you’re coming in to lead the group. So don’t fret. Focus on making sure you understand the principles of audit (GRC), what certain methodologies exist and what differentiates each of them. The rest will be shown to you

Think of three things here: industry sector, who puts the framework out, who uses it.
