This was so informative, thank you !
Welcome!
New sub here. I love your content. You make it sound doable and rewarding. Really wish I had gotten into this field sooner. But not too late.
Never too late

Great video! Here in the U.K. (Not sure if it’s just U.K.), you need 5 years work experience for the CISA cert. I have a degree in Cybersecurity and working for a financial tech company for 6 years, working as project manager and service delivery analyst. Do you think these work experiences will be suffice to meet the requirements for the CISA cert?
I'm currently a Information Protection Analyst and trying to transition to an audit or governance role. This video was very insightful.
it's an amazing field.
Inspiring video
Great content. Thank you
More than welcome
Love it❤
Great video! I feel like I can learn a lot from you.
Its nothing personal #BINGO
🙌🏾
Subscribed from LinkedIn. Wishing you much success!
Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏾
Small world- I attended elementary school with you at Ch--t! Great information! Keep up the good work!
No way!
Currently studying for the CISA and stumbled across your page! Looking forward to watching all of ypur videos!
Great insight!
Please what's the most common used software in an IT Audit industry?
In terms of? That's a very broad question--
the reason i subscribe because of that you said, "you have to love people " and laugh hahahahaha you got me there . now im a fan.
Great video 👍🏼
I saw you in the Google cybersecurity video. or is it someone that looks like you
That was me!!
@@TheOnlyGirlintheRoom Thats great! Lol can you get me a job at Google 😂? I finished the course and got the cert
Hi Erin. Total mewbie here no wxpo in IT whatsoever a d i just heard about this. Where do i start. My degree is in Chemical engineering.
So many places to go with a chemical engineering degree. Check out health tech
How can someone with the specific role and experience structure their resume. Should it be chronological or functional in format?
IMO it should be functional for sure. I just posted a video on pgm where she talks about this
Great class. Need more of this!!
I just got the start date for my very first auditor job and this video was SO HELPFUL!! Thank you so much for sharing all this fantastic information!! Will be referencing and sharing this video as well.
You're God sent! Thank you soo much for this, you have no idea how it helped me
Can you realistically get a job with only a CISA cert ?
You can’t get any job realistically with only a cert. it requires good interview skills. Good understanding of technical concepts and an understanding of governance and risks. I got my first IT audit job without the cert. it wasn’t until I became a senior auditor that I pursued it. But I understood all of the above
Thank you for the info! I'm sorry that you're not allowed to cook at Thanksgiving, but I'm sure your salads are amazing! Lol
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
You were spot on when you made this video IT auditing is the future.
Can I get an IT audit job with no experience but basic training?😢
Honestly, I don’t know many tech companies that will offer a job w/ no exp and basic training. Except the military lol. It’s what you build your career to be and the work you put in that makes it @damilolaflorence8025
Nice! Great help.
Thank you for the information.
I have a question. Coming with no IT background, after we take the CISA & a certification, how does the training part work after you get the job, I think that’s what I’m really nervous about. Do they expect you to automatically know how to do the hands on part?
When I started my career in audit I didn’t have a clue how it was supposed to go. I just had my skill sets and understood the underlining principles. So there was on the job training. With any job they’re going to show you how they do it unless you’re coming in to lead the group. So don’t fret. Focus on making sure you understand the principles of audit (GRC), what certain methodologies exist and what differentiates each of them. The rest will be shown to you
@@TheOnlyGirlintheRoom you’re awesome. Thank you 💖
When I tell you- you are a BLESSING!!! I have IT in my history but I’m starting my auditing career and this helps me focus on what I need to do to execute this thang!! THANK YOU!!!❤

Sis, your hair is beautiful! As an older Hebrew Israelite (Black) woman who has learned that this system is rigged, I no longer strive to navigate gatekeepers. I seek the Will of The Most High YAHUAH!
Yahweh? Also congratulations. Not everyone is there yet.
Your hair is gorgeous!
Thank you!
Do you find that as a person of color you wind up having to setup more boundaries at work? Do you find as a Black woman you end up having to take more breaks because of the BS? This typically results in questions like “am I crazy?” “Is this really happening?” “Should I be doing more?” I’m practicing the pomodoro method today and moving around my space to create more breaks in my day and my mindset. I’m curious from you, how you setup boundaries and breaks as a woman, a person of color, at work? #blackwomen #blackwomenintech #yourvirtualmentor #womenintech
I stumbled across this video as I was looking for workout videos lol. I actually just started as an IT Auditor about 3 months ago and I am learning A TON! It was a bit overwhelming at first honestly but I have an amazing team that I work with and is grateful for them walking me through this. I was in an IAM role for about 4 years prior to landing this role and I also have a degree in Criminal Justice. The company that I work for just purchased the CISA prep course this week and I’m excited to start this journey! Kinda nervous about taking this exam because I don’t have a lot of the technical background but small thing to a giant…I got this and I’m so glad that I came across this video. Much needed reassurance! ♥️
More than welcome Jessica! Glad your killing it :)
I just recently passed the CISA, though I have background both in finance and IT, CISA is more about policy, governing and less techie. Just study hard, I'm pretty sure you will pass in flying colors. Goodluck
LOL
Thanks for this great presentation. Where do we get the the training. What about GRC? Is auditing under it?
Julius, I host a workshop to help you build your career strategy depending on what you’re after. There are plenty of spaces on the internet but the record of truth is ISACA. Feel free to sign up for the PIVOT workshop www.inthecache.com/mentorship-program
I’m currently a freshman in college I worked as an it auditor intern and cybersecurity policy intern for 3 months I currently have a interview on Monday. How can I prepare? This position will be it auditing with focus in web application and vulnerability management.
Great post here www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7015520462294142976?updateEntityUrn=urn%3Ali%3Afs_feedUpdate%3A%28V2%2Curn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A7015520462294142976%29

Your laugh is contagious. I like it. 😂
I am 55 years old now. Working in a American bank for almost 23 years as a senior contracting administrator. I have a master degree in information technology and a diploma in computer since combined with business administration. I never work in IT. Do you think I have a chance to change my carrier as a IT Auditor? I am planing to some IT audit certifications (e.g. CISA, CISSP, CIA). Thank you.
Hi! Everything is possible if you’re willing to bend your WILL. I host a workshop that helps you build a career strategy. Feel free to sign up www.inthecache.com/mentorship-program

Wow, this video is very helpful! I am already a CPA and Certified Internal Auditor...thinking about getting the CISA. 😵💫 I'll see...
I'm EXTREMELY thankful! I've literally been going crazy, it's 2am and all of this gives me peace of mind. I've been stressing out how my experience will transition from compliance and risk controls testing to IT Audit and I thank you so much. I can breathe alittle better now lol
Glad it helped
Thank you for the information, I'm currently trying to move into the IT structure as I currently perform quality control testing in the financial sector. I have a master's in IT but have been working in banking for over 12 years and dealing with risk assessment but not sure how to tailor my resume to cross business lines. I'm really trying to branch into the IT Audit world as I love being a subject matter expert but my banking background is heavy. Do you have any advice because its the same realm but I cannot cross over for some reason??
The step in your journey is to help others to see how previous work is directly correlated with the work you’re wanting to move into. If they can’t envision your experience they can’t envision you in the role
