So glad I came across this. My brother bought a really nice set yesterday and we put them up but they were starting to rip through the flimsy metal rods cuz of the wind. Thanks for this idea!

Great content! I struggled with this for a long time and more or less happened upon your solution myself (I used old broken tomato cage pieces instead of hangers, though). Tip: Instead of taping the garden stakes to the back of the tombstones directly, try first putting a strip of tape as base layer and then tape your stakes to that base layer. Tape-on-tape gets you the adhesion but it's much easier to remove without damaging the back of the stone at the end of the season! The base layer just stays put and you're good to go for the next year.

@@scarriehalloween I was thinking about trying to cut out the bottom and add rocks, but this seems so much more simple and stable.

Your method for securing the tombstones is more efficient that what I ended up doing this year. I used old plastic ink pens. I'll try your idea next year! Thanks! 🪦🪦🪦

This won't work in parts of the US(mainly the west) where the ground is cement like, especially if you don't have grass in your front yard.

Bummer! Yeah, the ground would need to be soft enough for stakes!
