      But what about the eukaryotic cells in the jello? Seemed like a very big and important part of the story that they didn't elaborate on in the video. Was it just hearsay or embellishment. If not, then it must be star jelly unless it was a few number of cells, but such natural contamination would surely have been accounted for in a lab.

Between it being an old logging town, having the last bank ever robbed by stagecoach in the U.S, the missing children, the crazy amount of pet deaths and highway 12 (which runs straight through town that has been the scene of many highway deaths). It also didn’t help that our volunteer fire house still used a siren up until a year or two ago that would sound off anytime there was an emergency in town. It really made the town feel like it was trapped in some kind of 1950 time prison. But hey that’s Oakville for ya, Go Acorns! 😂

    And recalled this happened in my garden this year, after a rain.
    Not sure if this helps someone get some answers but I analyzed why my garden looked so gelatinous and I remembered spreading some of my newly planted Roses’ pot soil. Why? Because that soil was white and gave my garden a “clean” look. The “jellybeans” were present ONLY where I’ve sprinkled this soil and no other part of the garden. I do think this is something like a plant fertilizer - which usually consists of some kind of feces and bacteria.

      There was a more recent case in China of a red light in the sky at night followed by red rain and red river the next day. Given the oppressive regime, we'll probably never find out what happened or if it had any disease causing effects on the population, unfortunately, plus China is very polluted and infectious disease ridden to begin with so no telling what problems are and are not attributable. But it's interesting none the less.
      If I remember correctly the case in India turned out to be plant born spores or something that were simply highly concentrated in one area's air due to an unusual weather pattern. I could be misremembering, though. It's been a long time. But in the recent Chinese incident the red glow in the sky is something new.

    I do wonder what kind of *edible* liquid we can evaporate into the air and which will "precipitate": Imagine a syrup rain, a chocolate rain, a soda rain, a coke rain...

    • @zenolachance1181

      good hypothesis, let's run with this, what liquid will evaporate and then precipitate, maple syrup? milk? milk by-products?

    • @isaaclux2128
      @isaaclux2128 2 года назад +1

      This wouldn't have any affect. Even if you could evaporate a large enough quantity of any of them in a fast enough timeframe to cause rain, all you would be left with is whatever was not water in the substance getting concentrated and eventually burning, and the water boiling out. Short version, you would just make a huge mess and a lot of very average steam

    They tried cloud seeding to make it rain, what if they tried the opposite. This town was in the area that received basically half a year of rain. To much rain can be just as damaging to crop production as no rain

    I used to go out with a local fungi recording group, and have seen a number of different kinds and colours of slime mould, some like the jelly you show on the ground in one of your pictures. Others can look like butter, or even cat sick. One time there was a whole meadow covered in big blobs of green jellly, which was a sudden bloom of the Nostoc you mentioned. Amazing how it seems to come from nowhere after heavy rain, and soon dries out and seems to vanish, but it's in the soil all the time.
    As with your UFO and ghost skepticism, I would tend to dismiss the heresay evidence about what was in the vanished sample. But what I suspect is that there was heavy rain that brought down loess dessert dust which actually accumulates surprisingly fast in the west and mid west, as you can watch on Nick Zentner's geology channel. As well as covering your cars etc with dust, the downpour was made rapid use of by the soil bacteria to swell up and sporulate and then disappear again. Observers just assumed what was on the ground was the same stuff as coating everything above ground. Both the dust and the sudden release of spores could have made sensitive people ill.

    100cm/month of rain? Maybe 100mm/month. That’d be over 3cm rain/day!

    • @jessicaolson490
      @jessicaolson490 2 года назад

      Yeah 3 cm a day sounds right. Pacific Northwest has temperate rainforest zones.
      Edit: I was looking up metric (vs inches) I guess it's what he said in centimeters for the whole year. Also when people say the Seattle area it means a big area it, actually rains twice as much just a little more south of "Seattle". When we get an atmospheric river though it pretty much pours rain for a week or two at a time. 😭
