It does seem there's no agreement on the capo fret, but then again, in several different video versions I have, I see Edge himself using different frets for the capo in different performances.

Loved the song. I’ve been listening to U2 since the WAR came out. You have a way of making what sounds hard so easy to play James. I got this one, like most right off the bat. I still can’t do Sweet Black Angel. I keep trying, but just can’t get it.

Actually, buddy, I just recovered from two detached retinas and now I've got two cataracts and I, too, had to endure blindness and Jimmy Jim here. Being blind wasn't so bad, but having to listen to "Thumbs" here for six months straight was, well, you know how it is. :) Of course I'm kidding... he's not THAT bad! :)

Eno/Lanois help. your strat sounds more treble than the track- rings out nicely. the note on the 1st string , 4th fret from capo=2nd verse on, sounds like a major7-- I still haven't found what beat it's on. you offer remedial counting? one night years ago I attempted to learn this song. Obviously my ear isn't that good because I was trying to play it without a capo..

It's just a typical I/IV/V progression.
Sounds great - what type of delay are you using and what setting ?
marlowe32 Its delay built into the amp. I didn't really have the delay level up high enough, though.
marlowe32 the delay you want is a digital delay with modulation and a 450ms repeat.
Set the repeats to about 3-4.
is Bono on guitar?
Maybe on the acoustic part buried in the mix, but I would doubt it.
