It has always amazed me, that no matter how large the tank is and well stocked, that the fish always seem to recognize that a new fish has been added and have to check the new fish out. Great video!
@@CichlidBros I need help. I used ChemiPure elite in my 20 gallon after I vacuumed and did a water change. After 2days the water is still cloudy. Can I use Purigen and remove the elite in the filter or use both. I need your help and how do I put it in HOB filter

That tank is scaped very well. Very nice selection of fish and I like the fact that they all come from the same biotope. He’s going to need every bit of space in that tank when those fish reach maturity.

Really nice and beautiful south American cichlids are nice there not aggresive as African cichlids tank is beautiful I would loved something like this in my living room but dont the space I have a 75 gallon and that's perfect for me 👍👍👍
There's actually not any south american cichlids in this tank these are all central/north American cichlids and can actually be much more aggressive than African rift lake cichlids. One of the saving graces of this tank is having the heavy stock and such a large footprint makes it so one single fish doesn't get picked on which also works for most Africans as well.
What return pumps are you using? I noticed you mentionsed the XStream SDC flow pump Where are those located in this tank? Love to see a view of the overflow design.
In my 20+ years of keeping cichlids I can say that a white substrate makes my fisher brighter and pop, and a dark substrate tones down their colors. I’ve tried both ways and I’ll never have dark substrate again. To each their own and beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Beautiful tank and fish, how did he manage for the cichlids not to eat the smaller schoolfish? I have a 55 gallon tank with blue acaras and would like to add king blue tetra but not sure if they'll end up getting eaten. Would love to hear your thoughts

I have a 120 and it uses all my hot water just to do a 50 percent water change , when i filled the tank it took me 4 hours to heat enough water that it would be filled with water roughly the right temperature so how does one do such massive changes? Do you use cold water or have some type of water container somewhere?😂

They want £50 for him he’s in a tank with various catfish. He must be around 7 inches. But I am worried whether he will get a bit nasty with my Oscars. ?
I have a 600 gallon mixed cichlid tank. 200 plus fish.How do you get you water so clear? I have a 11000 gallon pump and two 275 gallon ibc totes as sumps in my basement. I use 5 gallon buckets as my filter socks and run filter floss in a reactor. But I have so many suspended particles in the water it looks Cloudy. The only think I have left to try is a pool sand filter filled with glass beads to polish the water. Your water looks amazing!
So the water change is 300 gallons per week??? I have a 180 gallon and my wife complains about our water usage when I do changes and I do a 50% change ever 2 weeks.

Beautiful tank and stocking! You could still bit improve the sump: roll paper mechanical filter + moving bed biological filter ;-)
So when that dempsy gets full size you're not worried about it eating any of the small fish?
Not too worried. Many of the species in the tank will actually be much larger than the Jack full grown

Plants make the water clear, try adding pothos in your filter systems like this guy does.
