Well these little cubs are unrelated with darkmane avoca. The 2 lionesses (their mother and her sister ) are the daughters of the Selati males and their mother (the one who dead) is the daughter of Matimba males.

The new Talamati Cub is marching strong, looking ready for thelaunch. Is Imbali Male a Lazy Lion, or is he rightfully tired after much Patrolling, chasing dispersing various Lions away from his Pride? Great Protector ImbaliKing. Beautiful, well balanced sighting.

While it's entertaining to see lion cubs, it's no rarity--there are enough images of even very small cubs being carried by their mothers, people are fixated on single game reserves and territories, prides, dominant males. This pride has a new tragedy, if that lioness is really dead--more information/confirmation is needed. The cub here unfortunately might've been born into a den where there was tragedy--two siblings might've not have survived after being born. I don't agree about the relationship between being bullied and buiding "character." Five big cubs, a year or so old are MUCH TOO MUCH for one poor little cub to deal with. IF there was JUST ONE big half-sibling/cousin to deal with .... This cub's days might really be limited. Time will tell. It was different in the Ottawa pride, after Sassy had Gingerella and her two brothers. Junior was six months old when the new ones were born, BUT there was only one of him against three of them--both of Junior's siblings were dead by the end of 2018, or not much later, if I remember right.
