    I've always absolutely LOVED the KD line because they just fit me so well. I do have narrow feet and a fallen arch/flat foot pretty much like KD so that's why I think the KD shoes has always fit me very well, like it was made for my feet. Cushioning has also always been top notch, especially the KD13s. I just got my KD13s and I can't wait to play in them once quarantine regulations has been lifted.

Also, i do miss how close to court the Kobe’s would feel, and these are slightly elevated, but for some reason i love it. it feels like i’m actually wearing a basketball shoe if that makes sense. i would highly recommended these to anyone that hoops. thank you so much for all you do tho man, keep grinding ✊🏾

    • @sneakergearz
      @sneakergearz  3 года назад +2

      Without testing the 35’s, only trying on the Lebron 18’s in store and having multiple pairs of 17’s. I would highly recommend the KD13. The Jordan 35 could be more supportive which could help you but don’t know yet. The Lebron’s have less support than the KD’s to give you confidence. The additional cushion the Lebron’s give you over the KD are more plush which helps your knees but only slight. But, they also have way less bounce than the KD13 which really helps you keep hustling without pounding your body.
      I’ll be able to give you a concrete answer in about a month after I test the other pairs but as of now, the KD13 is on pace for shoe of the year

    Hey Levi, would you say that the Kd12's are more low to the ground? Because I have a pair of KD13s and even though I love them and have played indoors with them, they feel kinda clunky compared to my other shoes such as the Curry 2, 4, 6 and my Kyrie 2s. Kd 12s just look more flexible, lighter and they look like they have a smoother heel to toe transition. Looks more like a kyrie would with full length zoom. Am I correct in assuming what a KD12 is like? If that's the case i might have to go back and cop the 12s. I've got my eye on the white wolf grey pair.

    • @sneakergearz
      @sneakergearz  4 года назад +3

      Seriously bro, your observations are all correct. I prefer the KD13 because of the fit as widefooter and the traction. But, the KD12 is closer to the court, has better transition, and is more rounded on the edges like a Kyrie. They aren’t lighter on the scale but they do feel lighter on foot actually. As long as you don’t have a wide foot and enjoy the Kyrie line, the KD12 is still amazing. Traction isn’t that durable but works well overall.

      Quite a few reviewers I trust have agreed the forefoot React simply feels dead or firm. Especially compared to the standard 17. Add to that everyone has been consistent in saying how narrow it is, not a good sign for my wide foot. I would love to review every shoe but they are not free or given yet. At least for those who need cushion and have wide feet, like myself, I can’t recommend nor will I probably end up reviewing them. Only if you find you need more support. Whether it be containment or stability, the Kd13 is a step up. The traction is also easily better but if you play on clean courts, both the 12 and 2020 are still legit.

    Probably kind of a late question but did these end up working for you in your size 12? I am in the same boat, where I feel like I might need a 10.5 (I am a 9.5 in Vol 2/3/4 so was shocked that I have to size up so much in the latest Nikes). The size 10 feels snug, but I don’t know if it means my toes are going to be banging against the edges on hard stops and cuts or that it’ll just mold and that’s it.
    I have worn them around for 2 hours and I am fine with snug, but also want some wiggle room without my foot rolling over the footbed (since there is no outrigger)

    • @sneakergearz
      @sneakergearz  3 года назад +1

      I had to do a 13 in the KD12 and it’s still tight. I did a 12.5 in the KD13 and it ended up fitting perfect. If I get another pair, I honestly might still get a 13 and use both on court and casually.
      Adidas runs about .5 size big. The Harden 2 and 4 were narrow but actually quite long so almost a full size up on the KD would be about equal. A 9.5 in the Harden 4 would be about a 10.5 so it may seem going big but your about spot on.

    I have a question, do midfoot shank plate matters to u? Like shoes having some arch support or torsional support matters ?

    • @sneakergearz
      @sneakergearz  4 года назад +3

      Arch support is good for anyone but everyone has various degrees how much. Even flat footers should have a some minimal arch support. All the said, that is different and separate from a shank plate and having torsional rigidity. Especially in basketball, your shoes need to have some torsional rigidity to protect and prevent your foot from over flexing or moving unnaturally. For example, a shoe like the Freak 1 had my plantar fasciitis flare up every time I played. Doesn’t mean that will happen to everyone but it still will fatigue and potential fatigue your foot over a shoe that does have it. Same goes for a shoe that is overly rigid. I hope that makes sense

    • @arthurchen4384
      @arthurchen4384 4 года назад

      SneakerGearz yes I totally understand I just want to know what’s are y’all thoughts on it! Cuz I realized none of you talk about the importance of torsional rigidity or if it actually has a midfoot shank plate in a pair of shoes or a strong enough one. Nightwings old videos talked about them but not the recent videos so I assume it’s not a big problem but on the other hand all overseas performance shoes RUclipsrS heavily emphasize the importance of having one. They shit on popular shoes in the states like Kyrie 5 pg 2 pg 4 or even Kobe ad exodus

    • @sneakergearz
      @sneakergearz  4 года назад +2

      Arthur Chen I’ve blasted the Freak 1 and was fairly clear on the PG4 as well. The Kyrie 5 still had a shank it just wasn’t as substantial as it has been in the past. As long as a shoe has enough torsional rigidity, it doesn’t necessarily need a shank plate per se. Some of Kobe’s lines have proven it. That being said, it’s such a small and inexpensive component to a quality basketball shoe, there is no reason to not have one in place and shoes should get out on blast without one. Especially at some of the prices companies charge

      The factory insole on the KD’s are quite thin. Average insole is about 4-6mm. Our Velosity insoles are 7-7.5mm and fit in most shoes. At least on the KD’s, they are quite thin and don’t allow much height so if yours are 3cm or 30mm, I would say they are not going to fit.

      Both are very very similar in forefoot cushion feel. But, being as the KD12 is single zoom layer in the forefoot and your foot feels closer to the court and has a smoother transition, I’d give the edge to the KD12 for court feel specifically. Should fit fine. The factory insole mold and have the cut out to make them as thin as possible so you can feel the zoom even more. With a normal insole, you’ll mute the zoom a little bit it should work.
      Just to note, the KD13 does have a shallow toebox so you can use to thick of an insole or your foot may not fit.

      Based on the tear down, your only at about 18mm of forefoot stack height so decently close to the court. That said, without having played yet, I would just guess it’ll still feel a little high as there is so much forefoot cushion.

    Any regret going 12.5 instead of 13 after all these months?

    • @sneakergearz
      @sneakergearz  4 года назад +3

      The 12.5 ended up breaking in really nicely. Been wanting another pair but even finding a 12.5 is tough and now I’m not sure how a 13 would fit. Definitely snug initially and it took a while to mold but love the fit

    Which do you think have more bounce, KD 12 or PG 4?

    • @sneakergearz
      @sneakergearz  4 года назад +1

      Not even close, KD12 by a mile. The air strobel in the PG4 absorbs impact and if your lighter weight can feel more plush but there’s no energy return or noun ones in any way. More court feel and you may feel quicker in the PG4 just slightly as the KD is bouncy but still low to the court so a great balance

    Does the straps of the shoe made from leather?

    • @sneakergearz
      @sneakergearz  4 года назад +1

      I wish. They look like it but definitely synthetic. There’s room for Nike to come out with a high end model and add some real leather to the wings, tongue or heel.

      If you have a widefoot, definitely go up .5 size. Remember, it does have a shallow toe box so if you have a tall girth, it may still feel tight. They run just slightly short but are more wide than the KD12

      I have the KT4 and just recently got the hardwood. But, I have never played in them yet nor the KT5. All that said, I wouldn’t be able to really say one way or another. You’ll have to hit up Nightwing for that comparison. I’m sorry bro

      Huge upgrade to overall support and traction without question. Weight, flexibility, and unconfirmed but maybe the cushion are all possible downgrades

      Nobody cares about your two cents first of all. I bet this man knows a lot more than you when it comes to sneakers. Why don’t you buy yourself a pair and do a damn review of your own if you don’t like what the man said about the kicks.

    How do these KD13 compare to AJ34? Same size or half/full size up for KD13?

    • @sneakergearz
      @sneakergearz  4 года назад

      34’s have way more room in the midfoot and above the foot for any thickness. Similar toe box. Was able to get a TTS 34 in a 12 and break-in process made them just right but with a wide toebox, you may need .5 size up. I got a 12.5 in the KD’s and after a while, they finally fit well. But, very snug over foot and toebox is tight. Almost recommend full size up for a wide toe box or if you have more girth on the height of your toebox.

      @@sneakergearz I returned KD12 even after I went up .5 size. I guess PG3 is as narrow/tight as I am willing to go. Normally I prefer toe room like in why not 0.1 chaos or zoom rize. Loving my AJ34 low though. On the fence for KD13. Doesn't seem like a good fit in my lineup. I'm torn.

    • @sneakergearz
      @sneakergearz  4 года назад +1

      Johnson C you have the amazing full length zoom on the Chaos and the bouncy Zoom from the 34. The KD13 will give you a higher cushioned version of your chaos with the lighter weight of the 34 while providing better traction than either. Honestly though, it’s not really adding to your rotation as far as something complimentary to what you already have. Maybe adding it later or when one wears out but you gotta solid lineup my man

      @@sneakergearz I went back and forth and finally decided to get a pair of KD 13 "Home Team", 1/2 size up. Your last comment sold me: "higher cushion and lighter weight". Where AJ34Low might be a beefed up version of Zoom Rize, KD13 just might be the teched up version of PG3, imo anyways. Those 2 have been my top go-to. We will see about that after the quarantine is over. Keep up the good work and stay healthy in Chicago

    • @JC-qd4th

      @@sneakergearz I pulled the trigger on KD 13 and man are they comfortable. I compared them with PG3 and they are almost as good, almost. Full length zoom is Chaso comfy if not more. In fact, I think if PG3 and Chaos had a baby, it would be KD13. Not perfect, but pretty darn good. I thought I was gonna keep either KD13 or Jordan34 low, but after testing them both, I just might keep them both. Eastbay has KD13 for $115 right now, fyi.
