In pre-Islamic Zoroastrianism we find a story of a winged horse-like creature with a human head. It their texts (The Book of Arda Viraf), a saintly priest Arda Viraf made a night journey to heaven under the guidance of angel Sarosh. He passed from one utopia (heaven) to another and reached the presence of Ormazd, the great deity of the whole universe. He saw the heavens and how happy the inhabitants were, Ormazd commanded him to return and tell people what he saw and to tell his followers to pray five (5) times a day. Sound familiar?

Also Mohammed's bargaining with God echoes Abraham's bargaining with God in the Jewish bible in order to save the lives of the people of Sedom. In that instance Abraham begs God to hold off punishment if 50 good people are found, then bargains God down to 10.

@theastronomer5800 It sounds credible that Zoroasterians who converted to Islam brought in their myths to embellish stories and attribute them to Prophet Muhammad. Hadith literature is full of such stories, which were handed down as traditions. Fortunately, we still have the actual scripture left by Muhammad - the Qur'an. So, the authentic message of Muhammad or Islam is available for anyone.

@@oeshkoer oh, yaknow, "Did I do my wudu?"
      "did my wudu break?"
"Did I make niyat before namaz?"
"Wait a minute, which rakat was I on?"
      "DID MY WUDU BREAK?!"
"I must perform wudu perfectly, can't miss a spot, no sir no sir no sir, can't miss a spot, no sir-ree-bob"
"DID I DO MY WUDU! OH WELL, LET'S DO IT AGAIN JUST TO BE SAFE!"
"Are my pants covering my ankles? They're not covering my ankles are they?"
Edit: to be fair though, there are, like, things you can do to overcome most of what I said, like, if you forget a rakat, then don't pay mind to it, you can just perform "sajood of forgetfulness", and if you think your wudu breaks, but you're not sure, then, like, just assume it didn't break, the only problem that one might not be able to solve is performing wudu "perfectly" due to some hadith saying something like "you can't a needle's point dry on XYZ part", idk, it was about the face or the arms or something, or maybe it was about every part that is supposed to be washed during wudu (hands, then do kullee, then nosey and face, then arms upto elbows, then masah which is, like, passing hand over hair and wiping nape of the neck and cleaning the outside of the ear with thumb and inside with index finger, then you have, like, feet, and they're to be done upto the ankles, and, tbf, making sure my pants were above my ankles at all times really made that feel like less of a hastle, anywho, hopefully I didn't miss anything)
So, to be perfectly clear, there are ways to overcome the OCD thing, but it absolutely takes time if someone is used to worrying about every little thing in wudu and namaz.
As for the "not even a needle point should remain dry", or whatever, that was likely metaphorical, but it's still quite distressing, I'd basically need an imam or some scholar of faith to grab you by the shoulders and shake you out of it while screaming "YOU ABSOLUTELY DINGLE BERRY! THAT'S NOT WHAT THE HADITH MEANT!"
And my brain would probably still be like "God, this scholar of faith said this, so I will follow those of knowledge and understanding, but please, THROW MY SIN OF NOT DOING IT PERFECTLY ON THE SCHOLAR, NOT ME!", yeah,I was a bit of a snake, but, like, you can't risk hell, can ya now?
And it's that thought " I can't afford to go to hell" which leads to "best to play it safe", which ultimately leads to that OCD stuff
But again, there are absolutely ways of looking at it that can resolve these issues
Knowledge of Islam nowadays is spread *criminally* thin nowadays
Concentrated within the imams and such, while the general populace just mixes it up with culture and superstition, and that's the versions that's fed to a lot of people and then those people have to work to unmix that culture and superstition from Islam

as a person who grew up with OCD, something that i saw years ago in a morning news psychology segment that stuck with me to this day is that normally OCD rates are about 2.5% in the world but it's double that in muslim countries
and although i need to recheck the sources on that it definitely tracks and played into mine, something about being watched all the time and having every mistake tracked fucks you up mentally and anecdotally i had a close religious friend develop OCD as well, past his childhood, trying to get things perfect, im not diving into detail for his sake but it broke my heart at the time when he told me what's he's going through
honestly even if you're a religious person reading this comment please have leniency on yourself and wait until your kids are older to teach them about things, it's not healthy growing up like we do.

Double-checking that everything is "halal", feeling an immense sense of guilt and utter terror for every little mistake I made, intrusive thoughts that I blamed myself for... And then my parents asked me why I wasn't acting like "a normal kid", as if they weren't the main reason.

In today's science, scientists tell us the impossible is not only possible but most probable.
Have you heard of Einstein Paradox?

What seems to be impossible is real.
There are many scientific theories about different dimensions.
Impossible scenarios like dark matter that nobody understand what it is, but its existence has to be true to explain the material universe. Not only that but matter also interacts between the two worlds where matter goes in and out of existence.
Science today talks about time travel as one of the possibilities.
Science talks about wormholes in which one can instantly travel between distant galaxies.
These are the things today’s scientistic talk about, and no one is saying they are crazy.
But a person chosen by his creator to travel to the seven heavens and back in the same night is crazy and impossible.

Praying 5 days a day, of which one is in the middle of the night, is an old Christian custom and requirement.
Still today, in most old monasteries, both Catholic and Orthodox Christian ones, monks pray several times a day, including once in the middle of the night.

I was raised to the Lote Tree and saw four rivers, two of which were coming out and two going in. Those which were coming out were the Nile and the Euphrates, and those which were going in were two rivers in paradise. Then I was given three bowls, one containing milk, and another containing honey, and a third containing wine. I took the bowl containing milk and drank it. It was said to me, "You and your followers will be on the right path (of Islam)."
    Sahih Bukhari 7:69:514

The accusation of "Fairy Tales" (أَسَاطِيرُ الأَوَّلِينَ) clearly hit a nerve with Muhammad as it's mentioned 9 times in the Qur'an. For example:
"When Our Signs are rehearsed to them, they say: "We have heard this (before): if we wished, we could say (words) like these: these are nothing but tales of the ancients." (8:31)
The Qur'an then usually responds with a stream of threats and name calling.
Clearly many Meccans realised this was just hot air and called his bluff, telling him to "Bring it on!":
"And when they said: O Allah! if this is the truth from Thee, then rain upon us stones from heaven or inflict on us a painful punishment. (8:32)
This would have been a perfect opportunity for Allah to show he means what he says. But were the threats carried through?
"But Allah would not punish them while you, [O Muhammad], are among them." (8:33)
lol.... Obviously Allah hadn't developed Laser Targeting Systems yet.

    3. “Allah holds the sky so as it cannot fall on the Earth” (Surah 22:65)
    4. “It is Allah who erected the heavens without pillars that you [can] see; then He established Himself above the Throne and made subject the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. He arranges [each] matter; He details the signs that you may, of the meeting with your Lord, be certain. (Surah 13:2)
    5. “And after that, He spread the Earth” (Surah 79:30)
    6. “He (Allah) made for you the Earth like a carpet spread out” (Surah 20:53)
    7. “Cow’s milk is made between the dung and the blood” (Surah 16:66)
    8. “The sun runs on unto a resting place for him” (Surah 36:38)
    9. “We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump, and We made the lump bones, and We covered the bones with flesh. (Surah 23:13-14)
    10. “We have adorned the lowest heaven with lamps and made them [missiles] for stoning devils for whom We have also prepared the torment of a blazing fire.” (Surah 67:5)
    11. “O you who believe, do not enter the houses of the Prophet, unless you are permitted for a meal, not (so early as) to wait for its preparation. But when you are invited, go inside. Then, once you have had the meal, just disperse, and (do) not (sit for long) being keen for a chat. This (conduct of yours) hurts the Prophet, but he feels shy of (telling) you (about it), but Allah is not shy of the truth.” (Surah 33:53)
    12. “Semen is made between the backbone and the ribs” (Surah 86:5-7)
Remember, Allah is claimed to be the “all-knowing” “all-powerful” “creator of the universe” and he is quoted verbatim, word-for-word, in Allah’s “clear book” the eternal, uncreated Quran which has existed in Heaven before the beginning of time and creation.
But as you can see, all-knowing Allah says things no different from a 7th century Bedouin. As the all-knowing creator of the universe, you would expect Allah to state scientific truths (in perfect, indisputable detail, requiring no jihadi-bearded dawah boys to help interpret) like the Theory of Relativity, the Double Helix Structure of DNA, Quantum Mechanics, Particle Physics, etc. But no.
(Fun fact: When you see the sun in the sky, take note that it is in a muddy spring for the time zones before you and under Allah's bum in other time zones. True story.)
It's simple to prove Allah does not exist. We just need to prove Allah’s CLAIMS don’t exist. As the Quran is the “kalamullah” i.e. all-knowing Allah's verbatim word, the Quran must be 100% accurate. But it is not. The Quran makes many ignorant 7th-century statements. And since Allah’s claims don’t exist, Allah doesn’t exist. It’s simple to prove Allah doesn’t exist.
Stay away from Islam. Nothing good comes out of Islam.

Why would allah not just say 5 in the first place and save the pointless repetition if he already knows he is going to come back and negotiate and eventually get 5 anyways. So for example in psalms 2:7 God calls David His son and in 2 Samuel 7:13 God calls Solomon His son. But Christians say Jesus is the son so he’s god. Can you answer this seeing that’s David Solomon and Jesus are Sons of God do you think they are God.

If Jesus was born through a virgin mother, then how is he a descendant from David through his father? Also in chapter 3 of the gospels (in the book of Luke), it says there are something like 74 generations from Adam to Jesus. But the history of humanity is much bigger than just that. It starts to get really suspicious when you get to the parts about marriage and sex, and how Mohammed was basically allowed to sleep with anyone he wants, but others can only have four wives. It's so very obvious that he just made it all up to serve his own interests.

On an interesting and related side note, there is a theory in critical analysis of the Qur'an which suggests that the story of the night ascension was a later fabrication inserted into the Qur'an to give Jerusalem a special place within Islam, and in turn to give the Islamic caliphate special claim to Jerusalem. But Allah knows best 😂

    • @misabel8719
      @misabel8719 Год назад +6

That's interesting, as the actual passage is so short and vague that it's hard to even tell if it's referring to Jerusalem (or to Muhammad for that matter). You'd think they'd use something more recognizable (like Bayt el-Maqdis for example) if that were the case.

    • @TheEnlightenedRebel
      @TheEnlightenedRebel Год назад +1

@@misabel8719 that's very true, which is why there are a few different views about this verse including whether it actually refers to Jerusalem or somewhere else as you've pointed out. The view I referred to (which is difficult to actually prove with any certainty) claims that the first part of the verse was always there:
      سبحان الذي أسرى بعبده ليلا
But that the remainder of it was the addition, and that the original verse could have been referring to Moses and the Israelites fleeing Egypt at night. It could be read in the plural to support this view i.e. as
      عباده
The reasoning behind all of this is that the longer part of the verse doesn't flow logically or match the rhythm of the subsequent verses. The subsequent verses also refer to Moses and the Israelites

    • @misabel8719
      @misabel8719 Год назад +4

@@TheEnlightenedRebel I agree that at least in it's current shape, the verse doesn't seem to belong with the rest of the surah at all. But I feel like unless you want to resort to the apologetic panacea of iltifat, the proposed original sequence of the passage still sounds pretty awkward and discontinous... My sense is either the whole first ayah, or just it's latter 'masjid' part could have been interpolated as suggested, but in either case, a chunk of text must have been left out from the original narrative.
But of course without something like manuscript evidence all of this is conjecture in the end, and as you say, Allahu a3lam 😁

I don't follow hadith but some verses of Quran has really stuck with me and helps me look at the bigger picture. I anyway take all the wise scriptures and lessons from every religion be it Hinduism or Buddhism but I firmly believe that there is ONLY one God. I don't pray 5 times but I try... ❤Because prayers are all about gratitude and forgiveness for me and to repeat those duas will only help attract the best for oneself from the universe as per law of attraction.. Also, stories change as it spread through word of mouth since centuries.. And prophets I firmly believed were ordinary human beings with special understanding of the need for laws amongst the human race to reduce incivility so am sure many things might have been taken out of context as centuries passed.. Also, many not so honest human beings twists scriptures too as centuries pass... So I don't sweat too much about hadith or believe everything's black and white. Do good, pray remember God coz it's better to speak gratitude and forgiveness than have wars and spread hatred or watch porn or dwell in anything that actually doesn't feel good post the experience!!

Anyway, I love how the base version of Moses' staff already kind of looks like a snake 😄 Also, regarding the Buraq's whereabouts (which this might be one of the cutest depictions yet btw), I thought it was supposed to have carried Muhammad from Mecca to the Temple Mount (or wherever the Farthest Masjid is supposed to be) and then Gabriel took over for the Mi'raj part?

There are mixed accounts about the itinerary of the trip and method of transportation. But in this one, Muhammad was in Makkah from start to finish. In the second hadith, sleeping too. So there was no buraq in either of them at any stage before the flight up, unless he went back to Makkah, took a break/nap mid journey and that's where the hadiths start!

Obviously these are different, self-contained variations on the same general tradition, although I suppose the pious harmonizer might just say the narrator skipped the Buraq/Jerusalem detour in this telling of the story, as well as the 3 angels other than Jibreel, and the part where Muhammad's house happens to also be the Kaabah Sanctuary...

Anaerobic bacteria like methanogens evolved first, in hydrothermal vents, which is scalding hot fluid made up of hydrogen sulfide, methane, and so on. That's hardly "water".
Besides, it's no big deal to conjecture that that's where life was created. After all the oceans are so big.

Your message of not trying to convert people to atheists, initiate dialogue, debating each and every point in quran or dawah or in videos of Muslim critics makes me wish you had atleast a million subscribers . The earth isn’t even close to egg shaped - not even an ostrich egg. The polar diameter is about 12,714 km and the equatorial diameter about 12,756 km. A difference of about one third of one percent.
The claim is just bad apologetics.

Off topic, but lately, youtube recommended me a few videos from muslims trying to "debunk" you.
I watched them as I was curious of their arguments, but what struck me was how agressive they were towards you.
That saddens me. Because unlike poeple like David wood or Apostate prophet, you are always very kind, very calm, very patient (especially during your lives!), you never insult anyone, and still, they seems to really hate you because you made a few jokes about Allah and the prophet they took as insult and mockery toward them (that was the given reason).
It seems so hard to be able to speak religion with some people without offending them.

Kindly watch Shape of Allah by Zafar Heretic or Adam Seeker Urdu.
Allah is a man God located in 1 specific location in space, whereas Vedic God Ishwar or Vishwa Rupam of Vishnu is Endless, Formless and One with whole universe.
