I love the way you keep repeating: You can check this out on your own when you come down here. Like Iceland is just around the corner 🤪 Funny as always.
awesome video thanks for the tour !! LoL i i wanted a CB900F and then a ninja 900 after top gun of course but i had a beat up barely ran CT90 and then my 1st new vehicle purchase was the day i turned 18 , a 1985 XL185s , and was still happy as can be , i mean a real clutch and a 5sp trans man i thought that thing was faasstt LoL
I didn't know that there was a bike museum in Akureyri. Hope you had no mosqitoes ;-) Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg The GPZ900 was way worse than its reputation imho. Not stable at high (German) speeds. Didn't matter if 16 or 17 inch front wheel. Also the Honda CB 500 Four was a better handling bike than the historically highly rated CB 750.
So 20 seconds in I’m hearing masterpiece…. A Leadwing!? Seriously. Smooth, ultra reliable and predictable but I’ve pulled them apart and put them together and bought and sold them. Nah “masterpiece” is more in the realm of the RC30, for instance.
I made an unplanned stop while in Iceland when the brochure caught my eye, it had a picture of that KZ1300 which looked just like mine back home. It was a sign.
I saw a NAVA helmet in the background. The best helmet I have ever owned. Very quiet. Too bad they are no longer made I would get one in a heartbeat. A longer tour would have been nice.
I am starting to populate another Channel (Bret Tkacs RAW) for non-teaching or review videos. It is a place I can put less edited videos and share places, travels, etc.
Yes, that flat-four Gold Wing is something. I owned an '81 Gold Wing Interstate in my late 20s, I used to throw it around like a 50cc. Based on those fond memories, I bought an immaculate ST1300 in my mid-50s ... it scared the hell out of me, I sold it again within a month having done a mere 50kms, and gently laying it down while pulling away in 2nd!
There is totally a secret rideable route into Iceland. You just need a paddle tire, a fishing rod and those orange floatie arm devices also work well when you gotta jump the big waves.
Monster 900, R1200GS, Tenere 700, F800GS and the new DesertX. I own a pair for each coast of the US... One for me and one for the instructor that flys in with me.
Yes I know it's a 750 Benelli
I LOVE the “Harley’s whatever”. 😂😂😂
I would've been happy if the video was 30 minutes long since I'm probably never going to travel to Iceland. Thanks for giving us a peek.
I have seen the Hercules at Barber. What a cool find. Now I need to go back to Iceland to visit that place.

Love it!!! ❤
Well done,,
How the hell were you riding a Wing in high school?!? All I had was a CB250N! 😭 At least I still have my GPz900r. 😎

😢😢😢
Benelli 750
Did you read comment #1?
Was to that town this spring but had no idea the museum was there. I only found a nice park. Probably never coming back.

It was meant as a bit of tongue and cheek
Awesome! Thank you very much for sharing! The experience cannot be full without this motorcycle vibe.
Glad you mentioned the unparalleled Baber Motorcycle Museum!❤
Thanks Bret, great insight into that museum. Love the Ninja and the six cylinder bikes. 👍🇦🇺

Don't forget Tom Cruise did one of his Topgun bike rides with the Ninja strapped to a trailer 😂😂

it would have been great to know about the Museum when I was there 😢
Thanks for posting. What an odd place to find such a great museum. :)
GSXR1100 yea, I guess I am a few years older than you because I was out buying bikes by then and have never stopped
I didn't even have a driving permit when the first GSXR hit the market 🤣
I would watch entire videos of you going through bike museums and giving history lessons. Good stuff!

I got to ride my buddies CBX once. The Sound was intoxicating.
I came real close to pulling the trigger on a used "79 23 yrs ago. Some of the noises it was making scared me!
Like a child in a candy shop :D
Neato!
Reading comprehension left the room, i need coffee 😅
"Bret has a bunch of his bikes in a museum? In Iceland!?"
Wow..!! Thanks, Bret for the share. Didnt know there is a MOToRCYCLe museum, what a fascinating place! 😊 definitely going to be one of my Pitstops!
Very very cool motorcycles. I would like to get there to see them!
Dude should really do something about that low energy....

4:52 told that, having Kawasaki Z1 on the back, that kicked Honda's ass )
Dang it you where here, and I missed you, I would have had fun meeting you! haha
Awesome video..... Must be Paul's chaps.
They let you into Iceland? Also, you were in high school? I thought you were born on an ADV bike in the middle of a training camp.

I was there, the “cool kids” were not riding Goldwings! 😂🤣😂
🤣
2:50 Whatever...😅
Follow the leader, he's on a Honda. I rode a 81 CB750F Super Sport for a few years after high school.
Harley l's have their place, but... 😂😂 not here as much. I dig them all
Thanks Bret! Great little video. Love your energy and enthusiasm.
Pretty sure that was a Thunderbird Sport, which makes it even cooler.
What an eclectic mix of really cool bikes. Very cool to see an old Ninja.
The Excelsior is cool.
Agreed
Nice! I love moto museums! I just need the means and time to get to them 😅
What bike do you really own?

@@BretTkacs Respect ! ... But no KTM 890. I'm surprised
@@lewiss66I bought the 790 in 2020 but it had to many issues to keep for teaching
