EFF had no red line, they could have joined if Gogo Zille agreed. Despite the bad blood between Ramaphosa and Zuma, the MKP red line makes perfect sense and does need to be spelt out. Second term for Ramaphosa only makes sense with a clear ANC majority. His remaining to serve a second term only benefits DA (allowing them to get back into power and time to consolidate and permanently weaken ANC as they have done in WC). DA will by design take all credit for any good coming out of the GNU and ANC will shoulder all the failures.
