    Nice to see Alcon’s getting a mention. I did a CRMS MKii based setup for my living room. Dave Rahn was fantastic. Before I purchased. as I was trying to figure out if I could make it work, Dave sent me a sentinel amp so I could see how the fan noise would be. Fantastic company.

      How do you find the CRMS mk2, Compared to other alternatives?

    • @alford35
      @alford35 Год назад +1

      I’ll reply even though not who who asked.
      They have an ability to play loud and clear better than any other speaker I’ve ever heard. But what they do that will blow your mind is “IMAGE” across the entire coverage pattern of the design.
      One can sit what appears to be way out of the coverage pattern yet have perfect imaging from left to right on any size screen.
      They are pricey once account for the Sentinel amplifiers that must be purchased with the speakers but are not any more expensive than most other Pro gear all in all.

      I’ve had my living room setup with Mkii 3ways for about 2.5 years now and love every minute of them. I do have a serious dedicated theater as well which is what Walter calibrated for me but the Alcons are just special in many ways.

    Executing a DBA at a tradeshow, nice.
    When these Cedia "soundrooms" first became a thing in '2000, I recognized immediately the killer performance in LF decay times in room.
    Bass energy wasn't returned to the listener like a typical listening room.
    Acoustically, the tight decay times resulted in very resolving bass range.
    Problem was contamination of an adjacent neighboring soundroom. Solution, alternating demo timeframes.
    This Alcons room, I would've enjoyed experiencing it.

      @@Youthman I think the real question is to the diminishing returns per dollar Michael?

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  Год назад +2

      The law of diminishing return is going to be different for each person. Some are willing to pay an astronomical amount for a 1% improvement while others would need a 50% or higher performance boost to feel something would be worth it. We all have to figure out what will meet our needs and fit our budget.

    Michael, you gotta start playing these systems. To just talk about it and not letting your viewers hear the gear is plain stupid. Yeah, yeah, yeah,copywrite this and that. You can get good bass-heavy tracks from Epidemic Sound and you're good to go. Play the audio man as well as some film scenes.

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  Год назад

      I'm always open to suggestions on how I can provide better content for my audience. But I believe expecting to "hear the gear" (especially a multi-channel Dolby Atmos system from a lapel microphone or even a high end stereo or binaural microphone) is nonsense and offers zero value to the community. Let me get this straight, you want to experience a 9.4.6 Dolby Atmos system from a mono lapel microphone which will then be massively compressed by RUclips only to be listened to by over 50% of my audience from their mobile device? That is what I find plain stupid. But thanks for the suggestion.

    It's interesting to see these types of theaters, but that many subs are complete overkill, especially for a room of that size. I'd imagine one Perlisten D215s could fill that room up with plenty of bass.

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  Год назад

      Yes. One sub can be great for the primary listening position. Move over one seat and the frequency response can be a hot mess
