Artists such as Christy Moore, Luka Bloom, Tommy Fleming, Aled Jones, Victoria Hart, Finbar Furey, Moya Brennan, Mary Black, Frances Black, Luke Concannon, Liam O'Connor, Ronan Keating and Paul Brady who gave their services so readily speak about the man, his influences and his songs. I first saw Christie on The Kelly Show, many year's ago, & my impression of him was that he was a very talented singer songwriter, & a thorough gentleman who alway's seemed surprised by his success?
Such a lovely natured man, & although so sad when he passed away, he leaves us with such beautiful songs to enjoy, & through these, Christie lives on. He is an Irish Legend & an Irish Gentleman.
I think this man is the most beautiful and kind Irish musician to ever have lived. I wrote one of my songs inspired by him, he's just a beacon of light to me. So beautiful

It's sad that Mr Hennessy could not read or right and was severely dislizc .But on the other hand if Christy had the gift of reading and righting the world might never have seen this man's beauty and courage.I think the illiteracy he dealt with all his life focused/dedicated him entirely to his life long love affair with music."I'm enjoying myself,and your paying for it". That's the way to look at your job and enjoy life,I think this quote is so inspirational.

Went to see h in London's jazz cafe, he looked into the crowd and spotted jack McCarthy from Dingle spike and said ladies and gentlemen he should be up on stage and not me, what a star he was

I love Christie Hennessy discovered him 16 years ago at age 33. Was fortunate enough to see him in concert in cork in 2004 and went to the last goodbye concert in the national concert hall in Dublin in Feb 2019. Hermoine Amber and Tim are all lovely people and are the proud continuation of Christie’s spark of joy that he gifts is with.

Gawd i was introduced to Christie Hennessy 2 years by an alcoholic friend, who would constantly sing the song about being a star, every week, when he visited he would sing and this same song over and over, until i found myself singing it. I never listened to the original. Then things got really bad, on sleepless night i would wake you and start singing, critics never notice me, i'm not a star you see....finishing on, to be a star, to be a star, i am a star. This started happening so much in the middle of the night, goddam, i thought, Danny (my friend) you have a lot to answser for. THEN, 2 nights ago, i thought, hey, why not check out this Christie Hennessy and played this documentary and my god, it blew me away totally and brought more than a few tears to my eyes. I have played it through twice more since. The man was much more than a star, he was an example of how mankind SHOULD be, so kind, so humble, so compassionate, so loving, so positive, so utterly beautiful, radiant, a soul that i love, my goodness, what an impact. Christie, you just keep right on shining your radiant beams down upon us here on mother earth as we pass through hell. Bless your stunning soul and thank you to this site for posting this xxx

On Friday 26 April 2021 I was feeling so low with this Covid Virus till I came across this , this man was so full of life and it was taken from him at such an early age, although sick he never gave up, it lifted my spirit now I,m not giving up , I am going to shear this video with all my friends and hope it lifts them.
