The part that made this so awesome is the fact that they got Jason David Frank to actually be the green ranger. The nostalgia is so epic with that move. The guy who played Ryu was dope too. I’ve watched almost all of these and this by far is my favorite one. Excellent work.
Getting Jay Tavare to reprise his role as Street Fighter's Vega is a lot more impressive imo.

Since Tommy actually has a master morpher in the show that let's him use his old ranger forms this fight, and the white ranger vs scorpion fight, can actually fit into head canon now XD

This news left me devastated. I am so shocked. He was my favorite ranger. Didn’t matter if he was green or white. He seemed like such a nice guy and fully embraced being a ranger. His fighting style was amazing too. So fun to watch. Rest in peace Jason! I bow in respect and honor to you.

Another thing that's awesome about this fight is that Tommy follows the Power Rangers code of conduct, specifically the "never escalate a battle unless forced to" rule. Tommy only morphs and summons the Dragon Dagger in response to Ryu using fireballs and only summons the sword when Ryu powers-up. In each case it is always Ryu that escalates things. The makers really did their research.

They legit changed the original story because the character was so popular in the Japanese counterpart burai dies and gifts geki ( red ranger) but its more than that after it geki has trouble controlling dragon caesar jdf was suppose to go onto vr troopers or big bad beetleborgs but was brought back as the white ranger that suit and zord was from dairanger the follow up season to zyuranger ( mmpr in the west) the Same goes for Eric in time force again his counterpart is killed off and they filmed it but again was changed as he appears in the wild force team up episode

Of course they did! He's probably super super protective of the character because it's his baby... it's what he always has been and always will be remembered for. He probably takes every chance he can get to put that thing on one more time and show everyone he's still got it. He was as legit of a martial artist as one can be. Tommy is in all ways the most legendary of the Rangers, which is basically proven by the fact that they not only got JDF for this but also gave his suit a seriously impressive overhaul, for what basically amounts to a 3-minute fantasy fight :P I mean really if they wanted to there could be a team of only Tommy-Rangers, Green, White, Red, Red and Black....I'm assuming the only reason they don't is because whatever bad guys popped up would break into tears and surrender immediately before the 3rd Tommy was even done morphing :P
Over the years he's been in something like 230 episodes + 2 movies. As for popularity overall, Adam is about the only Ranger to come close (150ish episodes) even though Billy was around more, almost 200 episodes for him.

Jason David Frank has wanted to do a Green Ranger movie since forever, and he wants it to have the same tone as Logan. He says there's hope because neither Saban nor Hasbro has ever told him a straight no, but personally, I think his optimism is misplaced.
There's so much that can be done with just him alone that it would make an amazing movie

It really took me back to my childhood when he said “It’s morphin time!” Gave me the chills too!
It is awesome seeing Jason being able to cut loose. I remember him saying on a panel that fights had to be toned down for MMPR. Not just the more brutal parts of the Sentai being removed but even for original fights in or out of costume. No blows to the head or anything of the like. So it is top stuff seeing him in Ranger form using all of his training. Very cool.
I’ve always hated when something is held back by it’s kiddy nature. I feel like most household cartoons should get the samurai jack treatment to some extent.

The best part about this episode in particular is that JDF had a leg injury which is why he isn’t kicking as much or as strong as usual. It shows a great deal of skill to persist through it to deliver the fans a good fight.

I spoke to him about it as well. I brought up the White Ranger vs. Scorpion thing, and he actually said he thinks Scorpion would have won that fight in real life, because the White Ranger doesn't fight dirty. He also mentioned the Darth Maul thing. That would be so WICKED PISSAH.

InsertMusician335 By all means. I can see JDF donning the Black Dino Ranger costume again. Though I highly doubt he'd use the Zeo costume (I recall him saying that was his least favourite) and as for the Turbo costume, I think Selwyn Ward would be better suited to that role.

Okay, not gonna lie, I legit had a total fangasm over the redesign of the Green Ranger outfit.

Yeah, no. Sorry. When you rip into something because the character isn't like the Japanese version of the franchise, I can't call you a Sentai fan with a straight face.
Power Rangers was never meant to be like it's Japanese counterparts, Mighty Morphin should've taught you that from the get go.
Also, before you even think of saying anything: I have watched Zyuuranger. I think changing the Green Candle's use as a plot device was a nice twist on Saban's part in retrospect.

The suit in the beatdown is like the original, while the new suits are meant to fit in with a darker, grittier world in which a spandex suit isn't viable in combat, you need armor.

I really like how they updated the green ranger's suit, without losing the original style. Should have done that for the suits of the 2017. reboot movie.

bgninjah while I understand what they were going for with the power suits, especially when we think of alien technology we think more sleek metallic armor rather than spandex, but at the same time I'll admit on how flawed the suits look, they look like a melted version of the iron man suit. I wish they made the suits something more like this green ranger suit in the video, while not looking like extraterrestrial armor the suits would still at least look more like battle attire for a power ranger.
