- Rescue 1 Responds up against traffic going the wrong way Urgently Responding to a Call. They are currently utilizing a Heavy Rescue Spare (2002 E-One Cyclone/Saulsbury). This particular E-One (Ex Rescue 3) was One of 5 Ordered by the FDNY in Late 2001 Shortly After the September 11th Attacks.

Not old and not a Mack
1992 is pretty old for 2022 at the time@@christopherbuechele9366
This has got to be the fastest I've ever seen FDNY get out of the barn!! Also, I like how they put the number on spare rigs with just some tape!!
Surely someone should go out onto road to clear the traffic first then jump on the back
Chicago uses tape as well on their spares.
@@Razorhead19not always
Amber strobes to the front...nice touch from a long-gone era. That truck has a little bit of everything: halogen, strobes and LED.
Non strobe & halogen lights such as the leds are not original and were added later in the rigs life.
gotta love it
@@Fdnyrigspeople keep being mean to me what should I do 0:03
I'm not even from NYC but the PA300 and rotary lights are so much more iconic to me than EQs and stuff, I've always loved these older rigs more, sad to see they're so rare
Same. The PA300 sirens should come back even when the FDNY orders some new fire fleet.
That driver ain't afraid to use the horn . Love it😊
that old DEF-free diesel snorting to life is absolutely amazing.
God bless the classics
Wow, really neat to see them still using one of the old E-One rescues
Wow that’s so rare the fact they used the full siren !!! Beautiful CATCH!!!
Thanks!
Though parking is a premium in Manhattan, feel like that be a great block to get rid of parking and make it two ways for just how important door time is for Rescue 1
It is a two-way street (look at the double yellow lines down the middle) but only for a portion of the block. The parked vehicles are technically facing the wrong direction.
Boy that’s a commanding air horn!
The Grover Emergency Air Horn. The best for over 30 years.
I'm sure a lot of rigs that replaced the FDNY trucks lost during the 9/11 attacks are slowly aging out.
Although, this one has aged very well and should keep as a spare.
This is a spare. Saulsbury hasn't made a Rescue for the FDNY in almost 2 decades. They just got their second Ferrara like a year or two ago.
@@joshkarpoff3341 Saulsbury went out of business after being bought out by another fire apparatus company in 2004ish. Rescue 1 has yet to get there new Ferrara. They still use the 2011 as there frontline because the new Ferrara has so many issues still. It has yet to go into service and the new Ferrara was a “2019” model. 3 years and no delivery yet for Rescue 1.
@@Fdnyrigs the city I live in bought two Ferrera pumpers in the late 90s. They we’re plagued with problems. They saw the shortest span of frontline and spare service of any trucks in department history.
One of these e-one rescues were sold/restored/back in frontline service in and by laramie county fire department
One of the best FDNY videos to date !
Thank you glad you enjoyed! :)
Drivers be like *visible confusion*
Joking aside though, awesome rig, love old school FDNY trucks.
awesome video!! Love the older rigs with rotary lights
Me too love the older style lights, Glad you enjoyed! :)
Those are some great sirens wow!!!
I'm surprised the drivers were smart enough to hop on the sidewalk to get out of the way.
I like the Q, but I love the PA300 and they're unfortunately getting rarer & rarer as the spare units from the early 00s age out.
I agree, Pa300s are my favorite siren and I’ve attempted to catch any that have them as much as I can since I know they will soon be all gone once the entire older spare fleet is auctioned off in the coming years.
@@Fdnyrigs, we've still got Rescue 2's New Ferrara, which has a PA300 in it. Though, I'm not sure if it will be used that often.
This is truly a blessing to see I loves these trucks and the horn and sirens are much better then today new Q siren
Agreed, they are becoming more and more rare. Not to many Pa300s Left in the fleet as the numbers dwindle on the older fleet of spare units.
Then today new q siren what
@@whytebredd the EQ2B (the electronic version of the mechanical Q)
Energizer Bunny there ... Still riding .... At least the air horn is awesome .... Can't forget that .... Great video!
Great Catch!🚒
Chicago Fire Department had that same siren when they bought new rigs from E-One in the late 80s.
Great catch! Better than the EQ2B in my opinion. Sounds really good in the city.
I didn’t know they had old rigs like this still. I only seen new rescue trucks with LEDs.
Oh my gosh that horn... Amazing video!
Thanks!
PA300, Engine echoing the entire block, now thats old school.
Yep! Not to often you hear that anymore unfortunately.
First time hearing FDNY with siren blazing continously!!!
Boy traffic in that area must be bad cuz he just laid on that air horn
It was rush hour, the tunnel to New Jersey is only a few blocks away. Usually backs up the avenues between Rescue 1’s Quarters.
Great Catch! Gonna miss those dearly when they are gone
Good as hell to still hear those sounds.
spinning lights for the win
AMAZING Catch!! ^^ What kind of Camera? Great Video and Audio Quality!
Thanks! I use a Sony A7IV
@@Fdnyrigs Whoa! That is one expensive camera!
Best fdny video ever
Glad you like it that much!
Can’t believe it’s still around
Yep! 20 Years Strong, the very last of the 5 E-Ones in FDNY's Fleet.
@@Fdnyrigs i am not sure the ferreras will last 20 years but time will tell
This unit if allowed to stay on, will easily out live those TRASH Ferraras ten fold!!!
@@chakagillis the Ferreras are nice
@@firebuffandrewphotography Rescue 1 has yet to receive their “2019” Ferrara and it’s 2022. They’ve had many issues with it before it’s even been placed into service.
its still here!
you have great cars in the USA, it would be nice to see you on the channel so that you can see Polish firefighters
Love to see the retro rigs on the block! Rescue 1, get out of their way haha!
0:21 Fdny Rescue 1 Spare 2002 Yelp And Wail PA300, Used PA300 Wail And Yelp Ladder 2 2001 Seagrave 100' rear-mount
Wrong way up the block gotta love it!
Cab lights work like a beast even tho this is like 20 years old
Yep!
@@Fdnyrigs yay your alive
Hopefully they added a bigger air compressor so he doesn't loose his brakes with all that horn lol
The dead giveaway of this rig is the 9/11 decal located on the bottom center of the trailer on both sides and the missing covers for the rear beacons
RIP still Riding R1 & R2
So it's a Saulsbury body on a E-One chassis?
Correct, Saulsbury Built the Rescue Body, E-One Cyclone Model Cab & Chassis.
More videos of this old style rig! Amazing!
I will try my best. Not to many left out there. Glad you enjoyed :)
i'm shocked they still have this I thought all 5 of the older Ferrara's where dedicated spares and what about the Pierce.
Well, The pierce is still there.
I think they kept only Rescue 4 E-one rig
Yeah!...very legendary!...🤔🤔🤔
The five boroughs all have Ferrara’s I do know that the new Rescue 1 is down they have been having issues with it so they are running with the Saulsburry
@@rushturner1911 Did they Scrapped the Mack Rescue 1 because usually that would be the spare.
@@stepmanegotgame4784 that’s been long gone
Straight Up Goosebumps! 💙🚒 Amazing Video!! Loved The Horn Usage!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :)
Been there, done that. Sometimes it's just quicker & easier to go the right way on a 1-way street.
Finally not crying annoying siren
GOT TO LOVE IT....!!!!! =)
NOT running wrong way! there is a clear yellow line indicating traffic goes both ways. The truck just needs room to turn!
Did they get rid of their high pitch longer sounding siren? I saw Rescue 1 this past summer and it sounded totally different than this.
I like the part where the fire truck rode by.
Seems like a bit of a design error to have a fire station on a one way street
Old school siren?
Is it true that if Rescue 1 is on a call another rescue from another borough has to cover R1 quarters?
Depends on the type of call. If it’s a major incident where Rescue 1 won’t be available for quite sometime like a multiple alarm fire, then either a squad company or Rescue company whichever is available can cover and act as Rescue.
FYI. Rescue 1 is the hardest to get on with.
They only take the absolute best
Interesting fact. Do you have a source I can learn more from?
It's like an angry honkapotamus
PA300 is so nostalgic
indeed it is.
I couldn’t be a New York firefighter
That’s a big ass truck
Did Captain Terry Hatton design those rigs before he passed on 9/11. Is it that rig dedicated to honor him ?
What an amazing catch!!
Thank you!
That horn gives chills! Amazing vid :-)
Thanks!
Ok I know they just got a new R1 but what happened to the original rig?
Which?
Wow nice I love PA 3s
Love it!!
wait a minute...they're driving in the wrong lane direction? :-D
Technically they didn't go the wrong way...
Wonder how long it will be until rescue 1 returns to service
No clue on when.
@@Fdnyrigs Suprised they arent using rescue 2 to cover for rescue 1
Absolutely gorgeous :O
Wow awesome footage!
Thank you :)
boatload of munny to be made there for wrong way fines.
I thought all the rescues had the real deal Q2b siren on them
This one is a 2002 model spare Rescue. Fdny started adding Eq2bs on their firetrucks in 2005. Prior to 2005 they used Pa300 sirens custom for nyc.
Givem hell brothers!!!
Are they allow to go out of the barn going against traffic?
If i m going to get hurt or if my home is on flames l would love these guys come the fastest they can. 5 mins are a big thing when there is a fire/accident just imagine that truck is going to your home.
Roughly translated to "get the f#%* out of my way"
Very nice video 👍👍
How many spare rescue do they have
6 currently.
It’s a half modern and half old
Oh boy
Halogen and pa300😍😍😍
do they go through this mess with stupid drivers every time they go on a run?
Idk, maybe?
Nice Video!!
Thank you!
Why is the back door on these trucks always opened??🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
So they don't have to open it when they get on scene and they can all just get out
Amazing footage mate 🧑🏻👍🏻🚒
Thank you :) Glad you enjoyed!
@@Fdnyrigs No problem and i sure did mate 🧑🏻👍🏻
That's how ya do it !!!
GET THE F..K OUT OF MY WAY. HAHA.
SMH
👌
Fun fact: Rescue 1 driver id totally 10000000% stupid.
Fire trucks should have the legal right to push cars out of the way.
smells a little salty
Hey the app fire guard for shelter is ok for pass the exams f02
What, no Q siren? Just a shitty electric one???
NY custom optioned Pa300's were on all fire apparatus prior to 2005. Personally their my favorite and getting harder and harder to catch as the older pieces of apparatus leave the fleet.
why is it still in a spare
Ferraras have lots of problems.
@@Fdnyrigs ok
Very nice, and captured that asshole on the bicycle following too close lol
Thank you. Yeah there’s always a crap ton of those bicyclists flying throughout the city can get very dangerous.

No! The FDNY saves!!!
