The next class I went to after the movie, six of us were wearing that bandanna lol. I'm almost 50 years old and watching this clip 40 years later reminded me of many fond memories of that time. Good points. Johnny wasn’t a bad guy, he was just being misguided and was getting bullied at home by his awful step dad, and who knows what else his step father did at home? @@robertrodriguez787Daniel wanted a little payback for all they did. But,he did not use common sense, and the Cobra Kais taught him not to stick his nose into other people's business.
He wasn’t a bully. I agree that yes he caused the car accident but he didn’t mean to. He was also running for his life which I know doesn’t really count since he started this one, but come on, Johnny had that water hose coming.
@@ducknorris233 But for him, Daniel the character himself and for all the other characters in this movie, it’s not a movie. They are the movie they are the story, so to them this was real life. Daniel got beaten up pretty good at the beach, and then got forced down a hill and did you see the blood on his forehead? Not to mention that in this Halloween fight Johnny made it so Daniel couldn’t even stand up on his own.
Reference guide for Johnny Lawrence's posse, just in case, because it seems there is some confusion over who is who: Bobby (played by Ron Thomas): The one who is told by Kreese to put Daniel out of commission at the tournament. Though he almost succeeds by kicking Daniel in the knee and injuring him, he instantly regrets his actions and apologizes repeatedly. Also the one who tells Johnny that Daniel has had enough when they're beating him up after the Halloween dance. In Cobra Kai show, he is a pastor. Tommy (played by Rob Garrison): Had two (in)famous lines in the first KK film..."GET HIM A BODYBAG, YEEEAAHHH!" and "Must be 'Take a Worm For a Walk' Week!" He also appeared in Cobra Kai. Dutch (played by Chad McQueen): Blond hair. He's the one who confronts Daniel in the locker room during the tournament, calling him "Danielle." There's almost a fight until the head referee breaks it up. Dutch is mentioned in Cobra Kai, but Chad McQueen has not made an appearance. Jimmy (played by Tony O'Dell): The one who has no lines (iirc) in the movie. He made an appearance on Cobra Kai Season 2.
Watching this it’s pretty crazy how much they’ve both grown in personality and development in Cobra Kai, because both of them are so alike but from different backgrounds.
Did you forget the rest of the movie prior to this clip? And with how deadly that beat up could've turned, the only thing that was lucky was Miyagi showing up in time.
Daniel was not in the wrong in any sense. 1) Johnny had it coming. 2) Turning a water hose on a pothead is never wrong, and is far less than what they ALL deserve! FIFY!
Despite what some people and by people I mean idiots Daniel didn’t have it coming and these so called Karate experts got taught what Karate is truly about.
Good movie but this whole scene was silly. Daniel sprays a kid whose bigger than him with water. And this takes place at a location where bullies have dominence to begin with the school. Clearly Daniel went looking for trouble. In true karate fashion he should have stayed away. But it is great seeing the miyagi skills in action any how.
Why was it silly? Daniel didn't owe them a thing. Not respect, not subservience ,and certainly not fear. If he didn't have the guts to do this, he never would have beaten Johnny.
It wasn't really Miyagi though, it was a stunt double, it's hard to notice because his back was turned when he was fighting, so you couldn't see his face clearly, his name was Fumio demulo or demura, I forget his last name.
@@mariopalos9238 What one "owes" or doesn't owe is completely irrelevant. What matters is sensible decision making based on logical analysis including likely outcome and benefit/cost, something Daniel completely failed to do here. This scene demonstrates why spontinaity based on primitive emotion is often a dumb and costly thing to do, of course those who advocate it will only ever gloat about isolated cases when it happened to work well.
Gotta recognize that Bobby was always the most mature out of all of them. He wasn't a bad guy, he was just being dragged by the other clowns.

@@robertrodriguez787 the only explanation I can think of is after they recovered from their beating they all started fighting each other out of embarrassment over just being whooped 5 to 1 by an old man.
5:26 Mr Miyagi to the rescue
To this day I still haven't worked out where Johnny got that huge bruise on his face...
Probably from Sensei Kreese, for beating up Daniel, although he should have been aware, that Daniel initially started the altercation.
Loved Johnny's perception of this. Daniel was sniffing around his girlfriend, then provoked them in the school, then when they chased after him a fully grown man appeared and kicked the crap out of them! 😂
don’t get where johnny got the black eye from he didn’t even get punched lmao
His mum probably beat him up, after he told her what happened!
Watching this movie for the first time as a kid is unmatched. The reveal that the Maintenance guy kicks Ass
Miyagi is the greatest martial artist out of all the characters of karate kid
@michaelvega6646 opinions vary!, mine was Billy Zabka?, had FA Martial Arts experience!, was the best fighting Leader!, as well as the Youngest?, of the whole Gang!.
@@edwardcatton1047 miyagi had martial arts experience as well
Imagine if miyago couldnt deal with johnny and his friends. All them grand entrance just for miyago to be on the ground with Daniel lol
Dutch, the most evil one, got it the worst. A kick in the balls while his leg is trapped.
What an awesome way how Daniel meets Mr. Miyagi🥋🎃🤩
Miguel Diaz and Sam Larusso vibes!! Like Ali and Daniel.
The gate was unlocked all the time. 😂😂😂😂 lmao
Who else realized long ago that Daniel should’ve hid in one of the bathroom stalls so Johnny wouldn’t know it’s Daniel who turned the water on him
Was that scene?, i saw advertised?, when i was a kid!, that made me couldn't wait to see?, wasn't disappointed!, at all!, Great Movie!.
Miyagi was pretty damn cool.
One of the greatest scenes in any film.
Daniel Son always starting shiit than bolting 😂
Not😆
Man, Allie was a true “ride or die” tripping those dudes like that most girls would’ve jumped out the way. Very quick thinking.
Best movies arounf than comes along cobra kai can it get any better love Mr myagi legend
4:10 is terrifying. daniel, reasonably fit and agile, bounds over that fence VERY quickly, scared out of his mind and running for his life...and, gaining on him, johnny and his posse climb the fence in a third of the time. daniel was in biiiig trouble.
Johnny and his crew are probably better conditioned than Daniel due to their karate training.
Daniel started fighting in this scene but goes back and 4th Johnny also starts
In 5:18, I get it that it was foggy but you can still see him or even hear the chain links rattle, he isn't a ninja. lol
I love this movie 🍿
Me as well the best one out of all sequels and remake
@@waqarmalik6135i think cobra kai is the best entry personally.
I hope someday, someone will come forward with that song that is playing at the dance.
I can’t believe this song is very hard to find.
Excellent glad mr miyagi helped daniel against the bullies and your nuts whatever you want to think though
Seems like Daniel was being the Asshole there . Seeing as they weren't doing anything to him

I have no memory of all those cars wrecking because of Daniel.
Hes a bully AND a public menace.
@@JNB0723 And you're full of shit
He wasn’t a bully. I agree that yes he caused the car accident but he didn’t mean to. He was also running for his life which I know doesn’t really count since he started this one, but come on, Johnny had that water hose coming.
@@Maryweather28-fy8jj yes, but he knew it was a movie and in no real danger. 😙
Reference guide for Johnny Lawrence's posse, just in case, because it seems there is some confusion over who is who:
Bobby (played by Ron Thomas): The one who is told by Kreese to put Daniel out of commission at the tournament.

Irony is that Johnny and Daniel were the couple all along. It's actually pretty great.
Years later in cobra kai series, they are friends and never enemies.
Not true. They were enemies for the entire first season.
@@CalbenmikeThey were alright with each other in s1 ep9
Johnny's kiais are so iconic
I do enjoy how they recreated it with Johnny in series.

This movie screams 80's 😂
Watching this it’s pretty crazy how much they’ve both grown in personality and development in Cobra Kai, because both of them are so alike but from different backgrounds.
But we just saw Daniel bring it on himself. He hosed the guy rolling the joint, then caused a pileup. Lucky to get beat up. Could have been arrested.
Like you wouldn't have done that in high school 🙄
Did you forget the rest of the movie prior to this clip? And with how deadly that beat up could've turned, the only thing that was lucky was Miyagi showing up in time.
@@plowe6751 Doubt Ali would get suspended just for tripping Johnny and his friends up. A talking - to, maybe, but not a suspension.
Daniel was not in the wrong in any sense.
1) Johnny had it coming.
2) Turning a water hose on a pothead is never wrong, and is far less than what they ALL deserve! FIFY!
The fact he went as a shower 😂
Despite what some people and by people I mean idiots Daniel didn’t have it coming and these so called Karate experts got taught what Karate is truly about.
I know it's a movie but you don't murder someone over a harmless prank.
Daniel started it all
Wrong. That would be Johnny
Its kind of funny how when this movie came out none of the young characters of cobra kai were born yet
Back before airbags would have totaled that one car.
Miyagi - gangbuster extraordinaire!!!😀😀😀
Only because Johnny brought trouble first.
@@adamlea6339
You spelled spontaneity wrong.
I saw those things poking out at the dance... and, here you all are talking about stunt doubles and, which kid was ethical.
