Screw the "calendar" BS. It should be merely holding four consecutive slams at the same time. Serena has done this twice. Martina Navratilova never won a "calendar slam either, but at one point had won SIX slam events consecutively. To me that is a greater achievement.

AND Navratilova won her 6 consecutive singles slams WHILE winning 8 straight slam doubles events (which includes a calendar doubles slam) ...
The amount of energy to do that is gargantuan compared to Steffi focusing all her energy only on singles for her golden calendar slam....
Navra 's 167 career titles is also a mind boggling 60 more than Steffi's 107!
She had to fight with all time great 18-slam Evert throughout her career
While Steffi's chief rival Seles was physically stabbed halfway in their rivalry.
Navra has ALWAYS been the GOAT of women's tennis but everyone puts Steffi above her, thats ridiculously stupid ....

Federer and Nadal never really got close to winning the CYGS tbh. Serena was very close, only two matches away. But neither Fed nor Nadal got halfway to it.

Chronlogically, Novak was the closest to calendar slam in 2021.... BUT BUT BUT BUT ...
... BUT it can be argued that Fed had the higher quality 3-slam than Novak's 2021 3-slam ... thats because it took the peak-clay-goat to deny him the missing slam, while Novak was stopped by Medvedev who was not a goat in anything, way or form ....

@@88feji Novak held them all at one time though. So that gives him bonus points for me.

But again, Nadal's injury withdrawal at FO did pave the way for Novak to win 4 slams in a row.
If Nadal had withdrawn with injury during one of the 2 FO during Fed's run, Fed would have won either 6 or 7 consecutive slams ...
Its more a matter of luck really ...

True, thats why there is a lot of luck involved to get 4 slams in a row ... it depends a lot on the luck of the draw and absence of big threats etc ...

Nah cause the fact they didn’t do it once but multiple times each is an outstanding feat, a lot of tennis players will never have that in their career, they can’t even come close

I mean technically not a calendar slam for Rena, but she least she won AO in 2003 so it should count lol

It should be every player at the open duty to make sure Novak never wins that title but it's not going to happen Novak has no real competition at the U.S. open this year it should be an easy win.

@@stojanovic6609 like I said, it's going to be an easy win, with all the veterans players gone, he has no real competition at the 2021 U.S. open, all the good players have drop out or already eliminated before the quarters, i don't think a single person that hasn't been eliminated yet has beten Novak in the past, he will cruse to the final and win without breakin a sweat.
