I’ve actually been interested in becoming an LAPD officer, but I live in Detroit and don’t know how it’s possible because I have no means of being able to move to LA and afford any place to live while applying for the LAPD and passing all their tests until I make some real money. LAPD make just over six figures a year, so I’m sure they can afford to live there for the most part. The problem with becoming a police officer in Detroit is they do not pay nearly enough to risk your life on these streets, and they’re understaffed. Detroit police literally make only $32,000-47,000 a year (a salary you can basically make working at an Amazon warehouse or Walmart) until they become a sheriff then it’s like around $60,000 (still low). It’s so backwards over here it’s not even worth it. I want to make a plan to make it to LA but it’s so expensive over there it just seems impossible.

In saying that, it was some amazing footage showing skid row and the sadness that's associated with it. I saw a great documentary on YT on homelessness in Venice Beach before they "cleaned it up." It showed the lives of homeless musicians, some were formerly famous and down on their luck. One musician was from The Temptations. He said he had played for "the queen." It was a very emotional documentary and worth the watch. It touches the soul to the ultimate extreme. It's called "Venice Beach Homeless Crisis in Paradise The House Band.
