    I had the pleasure of being in Chiang Mai a year ago and was shown all that one would want to see with Amanda as a guide. She knows the shortcuts and assertively drives with confidence. She is embedded in the community and with her connections we were able to make the most of our brief visit. She seemed to know people at every stop along the way. Her love and respect for the country and people of Thailand was apparent, and her friendly demeanor put me at ease in novel situations including walking side by side with baby and adult elephants at an elephant sanctuary. We even got to don bathing suits and splash water on them as they bathed in a shallow pond! If you're considering a visit to Thailand (short or long-term) don't hesitate to contact Amanda and the services of 'Settle in Abroad.'

    AAmanda, I’m 60. Is there ageism in Thailand? Can I still be placed as a teacher?

      Unfortunately 55 is the maximum age to become a teacher, however there may volunteer opportunities.

    Can I do business with an educational visa?

    • @SettleinAbroad
      @SettleinAbroad  2 года назад

      The Education Visa doesn't give you the right to work. To legally do business you would need to get a business visa, such as the Non-B Visa + Work permit or the Smart Visa.

      Hi Robert, thank you for reaching out.
      The volunteer visa isn't available anymore, unfortunately. There are a few other visa options available, but we would need to know a little more about your circumstances.

    If I applied for Non B teaching visa, what options are available to my children and non working spouse?

    • @SettleinAbroad
      @SettleinAbroad  3 года назад +1

      The Non B Teaching visa is sometimes difficult to get the whole family on, but it's not impossible. They may be able to become depedents on your visa, or your partner could get a Thai Education Visa or Volunteer Visa and have the kids as dependents on that too. If your kids are going to school, they will get a visa from that and the parents can become dependents on that too. So there are definitely options.
