From a birdlover here, I appreciate that you include them as well! One of my favorites things to do, is to go to the Kruger! Thank you for bringing the real Kruger experience to RUclips!❤
You guys had a terrific time, thanks for the lovely memories, made my day .We were there for parts of December 2023 - January 2024. Very special to be in the Kruger itself, doesn't get better hey! Little tent, fantastic. We saw the biggest elephant I think in the whole park, biggest I've ever seen. I will never forget him. Marching down the middle of the road towards us just before sunset from at least a kilometer away, just kept coming getting bigger and bigger. We just sat and sat waiting till those ears came up and he tossed his mighty head around like he was going to charge, making himself as big as possible he trumpeted screaming loudly then turned off. Looked he was floating across that grass till he vanished. Heading to water I think and in a hurry. Even at a safe distance that thing was huge. Was so hot hot hot, right.
Thank you so much for the great comment! The park looks completely different that time of year, so green! We were also in the park during that time! Thanks again for the great comment!
@@RichardvanHaght The whole park was green, yah. So lovely to see. All the animals so content, fat and frisky, wonderful. We saw a lot of leopard, big males who didn't seem at all shy. With all those Impala calves around they were having a ball. I definitely choose the green over the dry park any day. Was still very hot, though.
What a great video I have never gotten to make one of these trips, but your video was just fantastic. I felt like I was there. I especially loved all the bird sightings and how well you identified them I live in East Texas and my avid birdwatcher so I really enjoyed that part as well. I am amazed that you can ride around in your car. What a time you must have had thank you.😊🐆🐘🐃🦒
Thank you for sharing your amazing videos from the Kruger Park. My favourite place to visit on this planet. Haven’t been since 2014 and will be visiting for 9 nights in April with a pal of mine. Travelling from the Uk. Cant wait. Safe travels
Well, you are both so lucky with the cats, and as ever you get some great birds - well done. We are there for about 6 weeks next January, so hopefully we have as much luck as you. That trip is especially to try and see birds, though there's plenty of other things to see. Thanks for another really interesting video!
Driving around like this is the way I do my photography here in the Southern United States, but of course I don't see critters like that. I see mostly whitetail deer. Thanks so much!
Very much enjoyed your video. Thank you for the tour of the Kruger National Park. Tell me, are those big concrete reservoirs out there to help bring water to the animals? I don't want to sound like a dumbbell but I would like to know. I've never been to Africa. It was always a dream but somehow life always gets in the way.
Have only been to Namibia and Botswana up to now. Looks like I need to visit Krueger NP.❤ Though we have seen a lot of wildlife, but no Chetaas close up in the wild, no Honeybadger, no Serval...😢 . And Krueger seems to have it all. Thanks for sharing this wonderfull videos, esp. about Satara....
Great video. I watch Edward Bath and 4x4ventures for their wildlife videos in Southern Africa and your channel popped up as suggested. Great videos and great content. Subscribed and I still have not watched all your videos yet. Cheers from the United States. Love your content and the channel.
Great video Richard. It must have been hot camping in your tent? We always caravaned in winter. Loved the music. Not loud thumping like some idiots and also when you spoke none at all, which is how it should be. Man but you guys saw lions. Yes Satara is definitely the camp for lions, especially S100. We haven't been since 2018 after many years of going there. Retired now. Hope you youngsters have many more years of going there.
Hi Neil thank you for the kind comment! Yes it was hot camping with the dome tent but evening temperatures were cool and pleasant, so we tried to avoid the campsite as much as possible during the day. Especially during the summer months! We were very lucky with the lions I’ve been to Satara before where I’ve had only distant visuals… You are right the S100 is definitely the place for lions in that area! They seem to love the N’wanetsi River that meanders next to the road! I hope you get back to Satara soon, it’s definitely one of the most special places in the Kruger. There are many special memories from visits to the camp over the years. Again thank you for the comment Neil, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Nice to meet you!
What an awesome channel .. such a cool couple .. I am a new subscriber , who wouldn’t want not to be .. such a well presented video .. nice work your two 👌🏻👏👏
You guys were incredibly lucky... and to have so few cars around your sightings is pretty much unheard of. Amazing quality footage. I'd love to know what camera/s you were using.
Thanks Richard...this is how I want to do the Kruger National park. Not these rushed few hours drive they claim to be Safari. This is real Safari drive.
Awesome video! My wife and I are also wildlife enthusiasts and we have been itching to visit Kruger. Can you perhaps do a video on how much you budget for a trip. Keep up the great content!!
Hi thank you for watching and enjoying the video! These were 1 night stays and we were camping which is R450 per night. If you have other questions just ask me.
Hi guys and thank you for the amazing advent you are taking us on. We are planning a 2 year southern African trip and just want to know what cameras you are using please?
Enjoyed your video, commentary and written bird names. I recently visited Africa and Kruger Park. Such a PRIVILEGE to view these amazing animals in their natural environment. Didn't get to see all the big five unfortunately, so double loved your clips viewing the ones that were elusive on my visit.
Brilliant. You have seen many lions. I visited Serengeti national park last year and saw more than 45 Lions, May I know the camera gears you are using ?
Hi Dennis thank you for the great comment! Wow that’s amazing! I would love to visit the Serengeti one day! Have you been to the Kruger NP before? I use a canon Eos r and 100-400mm lens, gear from 2018.
@@RichardvanHaght Thanks mate. Never visited Southern part of Africa. It is in my list to visit Vic Falls, Okavango delta and Kruger NP. This is a dream trip for me. I hope it will come true one day :)
Hi Richard , this was a bumper edition ! Lions everywhere and all the beautiful birds. The reservoir with all the lions lying around sleeping in the shade , where is it ? Somewhere near Skukuza? Busy planning our trip in a months time and wondering about staying at Skukuza. So many say it’s too busy but I do believe the sightings are very good along the river
