RESUMING: The previous remake is better because it has k-leather and the outsole is far more like the original.
This leather is still good. Not K leather but very soft still. I have MIJ mizuno Morelia 2. And just played in the pearl version mania. This remake is really good after breaking in and the soleplate? Welcome to 2024. The soleplate is pretty good and not bad.
It was worse, because this was made in Germany. The quality of the leather is better, the animal does not matter, only quality of each skin does, and so is the build quality is much better
So when will I buy the shoes?
Previous remake, the outsole was not the same as the original lmao. Same configuration. TRX soleplate was the goat.
@@Luaone exactly, all the modern plates from Adi have the samr feel underfoot really (aside from the Ghosted and Speedflow)

They use the highest quality cut. The type of animal does not matter, only how premium the cut of leather is

@@MarceloBlum23 not a fact. I worked with leather. Kangaroos just tend to have thinner, maleable skins. But a quality calf skin (from a baby cow) can be equally, or more premium. Only the quality matters

You don't need to leave the top eyelet empty. You can bypass the second top eyelet, and inside the boot bring the lace through the top from the inside, loop it down to the second top eyelet and tie across from the same spot. This will pull the heal top tighter reducing 'slip'.
For those arguing for K leather, the issue here is that there are places in the world where it'd be illegal. I believe it was California that has a ban on it, not a small market, so I can see why companies like Puma, Nike, Adidas and so on have moved away from it.

Good for you Jay Mike to give an honest opinion. To market a boot that's made in Germany and then have the upper made somewhere else (likely Asia) is really not cool. If I'm led to believe quality is better in Germany, then stick to it and give me the the whole thing from Germany. Now we see imperfection in the upper, which is a huge part of the boot, and they are made somewhere else but to Adidas specification, then it is Adidas fault of hyping up a subpar product as top premium collector item. Not cool at all.

Kangaroo leather was the only boot I would buy while playing….very durable and would form fit your foot. Plus, it’s lighter than calf skin. People with big feet understand….weight makes a huge difference.
I still have an issue with people who play with any form of a predator. If you cannot bend the ball without some form of aid….you shouldn’t be playing. Get to work and learn how to do it consistently.

Calf leather now, k leather back in the day. Virtually all Preds were K leather until someone sent Beckham a video of how K leather is sourced. He was one of the first who had his boots switched to microfiber instead of leather

Back in the day if you put calf leather on boots you had to sell them at a takedown price. Nowadays we pay top end price for calf leather boots 😤

@@omrac they have never put calf leather on takedowns. Adult cow leather, yes, soft calf leather, never. Calfskin is a premium material

@@JonathanRodriguez-nz9nw i assumed brands never made the distinction between the two because most of the time if it's not k-leather they just call it full grain. My bad. Good to know we're still given something considered top end, sadly for the same price as what used to be k-leather.
I still have my 2002 Mania. I was so looking forward to a new version, but my BIG gripe is that I exclusively play on AG surfaces these days. My originals are blades, so I'm not allowed to wear them on AG and there's the obvious knee injury potential (and at my age, that's not great). But Adidas don't do a full tongue AG version either. Annoying! And yes, I'm one of the 5% that would want the aesthetics to match. The stripes running under the foot are just fab!
The only shoes that continue to be the best of the history are the ADIDAS COPA MUNDIAL and WORLD CUP. Kangaroo leather and lightness, touch ….all. But now the plastic shoes ruin the feeling of football…… unfortunately the young guys only check the Messi and Ronaldo colors…..
We need k-leather we want the remake as close as possible.Most people that buy remake boots are boot nerds and some older guys for nostalgia so half the audience could decide not to buy it.

I have 2020 japan blue mania remake tormentor pack that just bought last year(BNIB), after just 2 games, 3-4 rubber fins starting to detached from its housing ☹️ hopefully this version have more durability than the predecessor.

I own the Pearls and have been wearing them with great Joy! The issue I have and will have is durability. There is no way that these boots will last the full season. I don’t think this leather style upper is suited to the current pred sole plate. Some slight forefoot separation has begun in a boot that’s a month old.
Have I entered for the black and red? Absolutely! Still a great boot and I recommend fully, just not sure how much life they possess compared to the old way of building them.
