If they can't interfere with the cub, at least put it out of its misery. The cub starving to death wouldn't benefit anyone. At least kill it instead of letting it suffer.
That idea is dumb, as gruesome as it may be, that cub will probably be eaten by another animal, and putting a bullet in the cub could potentially be toxic to the other animal.
I have never cried when watching an animal documentary, despite how gruesome they can be at times. But this genuinely made me shed a tear. Animals have no emotions? What a crock of shit.
Ironclad Alibi Yeah, emotions are not just limited to humans. Especially maternal instincts and love, it is something ingrained in most species by nature.

Yeah, you'd kill it because allowing it to live would be beyond cruel. That's the objective reality of nature. There is no cruelty or happiness... it just is.
king play No, you just implied that it was wrong because if _you_ were there, you'd take care of that cub. But you _weren't_ there, so who cares? Plus, do you know how many lion cubs die before they reach adulthood? Where's your sympathy for them? This is a common occurrence in nature, which is why the cameramen were right to document it without interfering; to show us the reality of life in the wild for these animals.
Xzamilloh I was not implying anything, and that's your problem if you think I was. Going so deep for something like this is ridiculous. Look at the real meaning of my comment without getting technical.
The thing that truly breaks my heart about this scene is the cub's cries for help despite its mother's need to look back but couldn't. Even though this is a nature documentary, I still am heartbroken by this scene. But a part of me wishes that the filmmakers should stop filming and try to get the cub medical treatment. Even though a lot of people say that we humans shouldn't interfere with nature, but that shouldn't mean that we shouldn't help animals that are in pain, regardless if they're wild or not. It's like what Temple Grandin says; "Nature is cruel, be we don't have to be."
This is honestly one of the only wildlife videos I ever cried from. Holy shit I knew stuff like this happens in the wild but seeing it for yourself I can't.
Humans made the music. The narrator was a human. In reality, a lioness realized her cub was paralyzed and abandoned it. It's likely she consumed it eventually (contrary to popular belief, lions often engage in cannibalism). Not sure who has more soul, but your comment is very stupid
Why didn't the Wildlife Biologist's filming this interfere? Because to KNOW how an ecosystem works you HAVE to let it play out! That means NO INTERFERENCE! NONE! How do we know ALL that we do about Animals??? By Observing!! You HAVE to let it Take it's Course and SOMETIMES you will be surprised! For instance A Baby Zebra is unable to walk very far. His parents stayed by his side but when it got very Hot and the water dried up the rest of the zebra's moved on. His parents left! For a Day and a Night he Was Alone! It looked like he was abandoned! The researchers could have moved in but they didn't. The next day his parents CAME BACK! They went to get a drink and feed and then came back to their Baby! If we had Interfered we would NEVER have Known!
i generally agree... but since lions are endangered, there would not have been any harm done to the ecosystem whatsoever if this cub at least was rescued and rehibilated
Melissa Charlebois People like YOU are a Major part of the Problem! And WHY Despite all this Talk "Save the Animals" THEY ARE NOT BEING SAVED!!! We ONLY care about it when we can SEE IT! But the Same People who type :'( ... yeah will gladly vote for and Use a Highway that KILLED hundreds of Animals either directly (when the trees go Boom the Birds eggs go Crack!) Or Indirectly by displacing the animals so they get hit by cars OR Slowly Starve to Death! But Guess what are YOU HERE CRYING OVER THAT?? Nope...... Why BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO SEE IT!! It's ALL ABOUT YOU!!!!! ALWAYS!!! You ONLY care When it makes YOU feel Bad!! Otherwise You DON'T GIVE A CRAP!!!! And for Proof let's Look at YOUR COMMENT Shall we? Is it about the ANIMAL??? Hmmmmm "I think people" and there we go. I ME I, ME already it's ALL ABOUT YOU!!! Let's continue because Surely it becomes about you know NOT YOU!! Right?? " should try and save animals like this>" Well better it's about the Animal! Yay! " I don't like" ....... ...................................................... Really. You Couldn't even go 10 WORDS without it Being about YOU!!! How YOU FEEL!! What YOU THINK!!! And you care about animals??? To do that it would have to stop Being about YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! We are NATURE??? WE ARE NATURE????? We are the DESTROYERS of NATURE!!! WHY because we YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT WHAT WE FEEL!!!!! And Your Comment shows that EVEN when we CLAIM to want to Help.... ..... ONLY IF IT MAKES US FEEL GOOD!!!!! Because it is ALWAYS ABOUT US!! And we will ONLY "Help in a Heartbeat" If it Makes US Feel GOOD!!! And THAT'S WHY we are Not NATURE!!!! WE DESTROY it with EVERY SELFISH Choice we MAKE!!!
BigManJay69 "There would not have been any harm done to the ecosystem whatsoever!" Really? How can WE KNOW for Sure?? When will we Learn that HELP without Knowledge is NOT HELP and CAN DO DAMAGE!! Example: Kruger National Park had to many elephants so it relocated some of them to other places where there were NOT ENOUGH ELEPHANTS cause you know their endangered. The Bull elephants were to big to handle soooo why not just the Mother and calves? Yep that'll work.NO HARM DONE...RIGHT?? At the new home of the elephants White Rhinos are DYING!! What? Poachers? NOPE! A few hidden cameras later and GUESS WHAT?? It was the New Elephants! Yep the young male elephants small enough to be transported but Big enough to Kill Endangered WHITE RHINO'S! O_O What????? They couldn't believe it to be true! (cause their endangered and thus saving them would do no harm whatsoever to the ecosystem!) But what they FAILED to factor in was OUR "WE KNOW BETTER THAN NATURE" WAY of "HELPING!" Humans in our Wisdom decided NOT to relocate the Bull Elephant males who played a Crucial Role it turned out-keeping the young males in line! So FINALLY they relocated a few Bull elephants who Quickly put the Young males in their place and PROBLEM SOLVED! BUT How MANY ENDANGERED WHITE RHINO'S DIED??? Because of US??? This is why interference is ALWAYS something to be done as LITTLE as Possible!! Because WE Don't KNOW what's best for the ecosystem!! And when we Interfere We can DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD!!! And when we Realize OUR Mistake Animals (Like Endangered WHITE RHINO'S) have already PAYED the PRICE!!!
you wrote a lot, i hope some people read and understood, because everything you said is TRUE! I am studying all this stuff so nothing you said is new to me... I was commenting on this isolated case, even if as such to capture the cub and take it to a location such as kevin richardsons reserve. If they could have helped the cub recover in a place like that, then ofc I can say for sure that would make no difference to the ecosystem. I think you misunderstood what my intentions would have been with the cub
You can really feel Ma di tau's pain throughout the last lions and the emotions she gives. When she shut her eyes you could see sadness, grief and suffering within her.
so upsetting that poor baby. don't care I would have helped that poor little thing. rules of nature or not couldn't have walked away. it breaks my heart

That little one will no survive whether his mom left him or not. This is nature, as cruel as it is, I still prefer the rule of nature than human society
We think we have lots of problems in life when we have so much fasalaty in life But in wild every day a mother lost her child and a child Lost their mother. This is the sadest truth of nature. 😢😢😢
You People Have To look first what you Have Done yourself in the past or not a long time ago you can Lie about, you can denied It but deep down your Hart (if you have one) you know what you have Done Or Said that you Regret and i mean this To All of Us
Lioness & cub is one of the strongest ties in the animal kingdom per research. She’s heartbroken too, but cannot let all die for the crippled cub. She lingers with each step & cry. She cannot afford to sink into depression.
I watched this entire documentary and just died on the inside. I’ve never cried so hard during an animal doco. The cub was trampled by angry buffalo while mum was out hunting them. She was a lone lion and doing everything she could to provide. I think one cub was lost or died by the buffalo stampede. Hands down the most devastating thing I’ve ever watched.
+Endtime no no, you misunderstand. I just thought it was savage to eat your own young. I'm not stupid and I do get nature. I was simply saying I was glad it didn't go that way. No need for an argument.
Please tell me that the people shooting the documentary took that poor lion cub to a veterinarian to at least put it down peacefully! Literally crying right now! 😢
GH - You got it in one. That's the most that they could have done for the little guy. Right now there is no way to restore a cut spinal cord. There is a lot of research on that....but we're years away from testing in humans...and we hafven't even considered veterinary applications yet. Too many differences in the species.
cryptic dude doesn't matter who you send it to, It's still a really shitty thing to say to anyone, Can't you just invent some disgusting names to call him? or say nothing and don't stoop to his level! But to say what you said is just plain evil! Do you know anybody that has actually taken their own life through despair and loneliness?? because people do it all the time and leave their babies, their wives and husbands all their family behind weeping and wondering what they did wrong! And trust me, they need no help from you!!

She definitely is heart broken...the eyes closing clearly symbolize this.. animals have emotions too.. specially all mothers ❤💔

No it wasn't. They just showed a bird flying. They never showed what happened to Jr.
"Very emotional female loin cloth leaving her broken back mountain club"
That's what I read, 4am in the morn
This comment put an mental image in my head and I am laughing so hard right now.
its lion you idiot not loin
I played myself by watching this. Now I'm ugly crying.
im a man and i cried :'(
no i'm a wall >:(
DeeJayViVoX
It's ok, shedding a tear doesn't make you any less of a wall.
Me too :'( lets hug it out
DeeJayViVoX same
You can really see the grief in her face :(
If they can't interfere with the cub, at least put it out of its misery. The cub starving to death wouldn't benefit anyone. At least kill it instead of letting it suffer.
That idea is dumb, as gruesome as it may be, that cub will probably be eaten by another animal, and putting a bullet in the cub could potentially be toxic to the other animal.
Someones gonna eat it
Or since it’s a baby and still impressionable, take it to a vet and get it’s back treated then place it in a reservation or zoo
King Austicious the cub has a broken back,no vet in the world can fix that. The best is to end his suffering.
@Omer Khan a rifle bullet would go right through that cub
that was so tough to watch. that must of been so hard for the mother.
His little squeaks and calls for his mother and her closing her eyes like "don't look back...don't look back" i can't 😭😭
WAIT?! Isn't that Scar narrating?! Jeremy Irons?
Vyshakh Vathielil The IRONY , it's like scar would have done this to young Simba 😫😫😫😑
THATS WHAT I THOUGHT LMAO
Vyshakh Vathielil e
Yes. It’s a clip from the documentary “The Last Lions”, which he narrated. It’s actually a really good movie and I recommend checking it out.
That's probably how he came up with his plan.
Did you rely cried? Sounds like you're baiting for likes
Daggers008 I'm not baiting for anything, just sharing my experience and how I felt after watching this video. If people choose to like my comment, that's their prerogative.
Daggers008 But she does have a valid point.
***** Either you're trolling, or you completely misunderstood my comment. I was saying to those people who say animals have no emotions "What a crock of shit, because they do have emotions.
Try reading things properly before jumping to conclusions, and then insulting people on top of your assumptions.
This is heartbreaking. Can't help crying every time watching this. Still can't get over why the filmmakers didn't try to intervene.
They took the cub but they couldn’t video tape that part because legally they are not supposed to take any of the animals. But this situation was different.

If I was there I would take care of that cub.
Yeah, you'd kill it because allowing it to live would be beyond cruel. That's the objective reality of nature. There is no cruelty or happiness... it just is.
Xzamilloh That was DARK. I just said what I would do. It's in my human "nature".
P.S. I never said what the mother did was cruel.
king play No, you just implied that it was wrong because if _you_ were there, you'd take care of that cub.
You cant take wild animals with you and you would get fined
mufasa will come and he ll take care of you simba......❤👑
Shiven Joshi haha that's funny since the actor that voices Scar is the one narrating.
This is by far the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever seen, and I’m usually emotionless to everything. 😔
Well if you get sad to see this , i think you are human with many feelings like emphati
I was searching for loin videos. brought me here wtf?
CRaptor There are no loin videos! And if that's what you were looking for, I've no idea how you managed to arrive here! Lol
lol okay.
CRaptor You do get that I'm joking right? About the "Loin" Lol ?
CRaptor wtf Is a "LOIN"
I am ROLLING! 😂😂
This made me cry when I saw it for the first time. Heart wrenching.
oh god. i cant handle this today
This is honestly one of the only wildlife videos I ever cried from. Holy shit I knew stuff like this happens in the wild but seeing it for yourself I can't.
Nature is not a Disney movie
The cub recovered on its own, and fought to become the alpha. If only...
Toby Kim 😂😂 nah only happen in movies
keep dreaming while that cub is already decomposed by now

DrPastah i didn't even notice the misspelled word until you pointed it out. I guess my brain autocorrected it by itself lol
Nature is cruel man.
It is...
+Christ Is Risen Nature is nature. It isn't inherently good or bad, it just is... man.
This music really tells you animals have more soul than we do.
BigManJay69 Yes I did! A place like that is a Great Option. My apologies.
It's like she closed her eyes and prayed for her cub before she left
Yeah!!!
Poor baby 😢 I hope that little angel found a new family and survived
The cub needs better have some health insurance then
Sorry you special person the cup died no way it survived without the mother an no theirs no adoption in the wild
Sorry, but that’s not Disneyland. Nature can be cruel. A lion cub with a broken spine doesn’t have any chance of survival, as sadly as it is.
anyone else eyes get watery for some unknown reason
256 bradley it's just the rain. It's raining .
Good one
This is legitimately the saddest video on the internet to me, maybe I'm just lucky and haven't seen worse shit, but this seriously hurts deep.
You can really feel Ma di tau's pain throughout the last lions and the emotions she gives. When she shut her eyes you could see sadness, grief and suffering within her.
This is too hard for me to watch
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
This is where humans should intervene and save the cub
The Baby couldnt be saved anymore btw this video is 14 years old Back Then they dindint know much Like Today Nature îs beutiful but cruel
From the very beginning where she was kissing him good-bye, up to 1:16, was heartbreaking for me. One of the saddest wild animal videos ever.
0:11 okay I'm already in tears
That’s like parents leaving disabled children 😔
This is the saddest fucking thing I've ever seen
so upsetting that poor baby. don't care I would have helped that poor little thing. rules of nature or not couldn't have walked away. it breaks my heart
are u mental no amount of care could mend a broken back and ssure pick up a wild animal
ape566 :. Her back doesn't need to be fixed. She can survive in human care.
Do you mind explaining how you would go about "helping that poor little thing" out? Please, enlighten us all on how easy it is to repair a broken spinal cord; nerves and all.
That little one will no survive whether his mom left him or not. This is nature, as cruel as it is, I still prefer the rule of nature than human society
Samantha Howse dumbass
The way she closes her eyes for a few seconds, its like shes crying behind them.
Wow I'm super sad !!!!
We think we have lots of problems in life when we have so much fasalaty in life But in wild every day a mother lost her child and a child Lost their mother. This is the sadest truth of nature. 😢😢😢
Simran Singh So true, but you know that momma lion was hurting too. I imagined that cub saying "momma momma" as he was crawling to be close to her.

1:34 she looks angry at the buffalo.this is so sad I really love lions and for any lion lover this is truly heart breaking😞💔
I mean, she probably did try to kill them or one of the Buffalo's mothers calfs.
That guy sounds like scar...
Margarita Peterson It is the voice actor of Scar, he did a documentary on lions.
+Margarita Peterson He's Jeremy Irons, the actor who plays Scar. Quite a fitting choice of narrator if you ask me.
Margarita Peterson it's magneto fool
Lmao I was tearing up until I read this. Totally hilarious thanks for the laugh.
You gotta feel bad for the poor cub. At least though it got to spend its last moments with its mother.
What's the name of the documentary bro ?
@@nagarajt316 - It's called The Last Lions
This is better than the one where the mother eats the injured cub I guess.
+Endtime she doesn't eat it.
+Endtime no no, you misunderstand. I just thought it was savage to eat your own young. I'm not stupid and I do get nature. I was simply saying I was glad it didn't go that way. No need for an argument.
+Endtime we all know it didn't last long out there.
Please tell me that the people shooting the documentary took that poor lion cub to a veterinarian to at least put it down peacefully! Literally crying right now! 😢
And do what with it?
IamTenzin
build him a mechanical spine and legs. :)
IamTenzin if nothing could be done, they could at least put him to sleep, so he doesn't have to suffer.
GH - You got it in one. That's the most that they could have done for the little guy. Right now there is no way to restore a cut spinal cord. There is a lot of research on that....but we're years away from testing in humans...and we hafven't even considered veterinary applications yet. Too many differences in the species.
The baby is parilized now they cant to any thing with him but put him out of his misery.
It's so incredible how you can see the emotions in both their faces. Sad animal scene. I would have taken the little lion and tried to treat it.
+Isaac Rosario why would you say such a thing? What did I say to bother you? You are uncivilized!
yo sorry i sent the message to the wrong person i meant to send it to the guy that said "i don't care about cubs"
cryptic dude doesn't matter who you send it to, It's still a really shitty thing to say to anyone, Can't you just invent some disgusting names to call him? or say nothing and don't stoop to his level! But to say what you said is just plain evil! Do you know anybody that has actually taken their own life through despair and loneliness?? because people do it all the time and leave their babies, their wives and husbands all their family behind weeping and wondering what they did wrong! And trust me, they need no help from you!!
Poor baby
That buffalo gave her the side eye. "Yea I broke your cub..... Do something.... Savage
That cat grew up to be a very strong cat, actually got raised by the camera crew and now is in a safe environment ready to be on its own

Exactly what I did to console myself ❤️
I’ve never seen such emotion expressed by an animal.
