This thing is amazing - Ive watched bunches of those saw blade style stump grinders, but this thing takes the cake hands down! Didnt take much more then a minute to dig it right to the ground
@rotorstumper That would help alot. My grandfather was always on me about the angle of the PTO. Back in the old days, they wouldn't old up if you went past 45 deg. Nice to see inovation with the double joint rated at 240 hp
This looks a lot safer than a traditional trailored stump grinder. It is slow and it doesnt not spit would chips every where that could lead to injury like a stump grinder would. Well done if i must say so myself.
not in the city, we mostly work in peoples yards, fences, gates, soft lawns & landcapeing I run a rayco r g 50 super that has to fit thru very small gates & it still tears up lawns if its too wet thanks for thinking about it--John

Very impressive. It might be expensive but it certainly does a much better job than the usual rapidly rotating other grinders which simply disperse dust all over the show.
How far below the surface does it cut. We plow 16" deep periodically. Wouldn't want to snag my equipment on a buried stump or root. Root plowing is pretty hard to beat. I guess it is all in the application.
I built one several years ago for my Post Hole Digger, I had the same problem in that you had to move the tractor up as you lowered the drill,,I finally built a vertical slide unit that goes straight up and down,,,it worked great. Sold it in 1980 and never built another,,,wonder how long this one has been around.
This is a most awesome stump destroyer. I wonder why it spins counter-clockwise. Guess it doesn't matter. I like at the beginning where that one dude says "Okay -- I'll just move back a little!". That was funny. 'Cause he was scared.
@skgrek23 No. First of all, why would you want to. But the real reason is the angle of the PTO shaft. When it first starts out, the unit is so high in the air that the U-joint is past a 45 deg angle. If you put too much torque on that joint at that angle, you'd be changing U-joints all the time. And the whole purpose to this kind of stump grinder is the slow, safe speed. No chips flying all over the place.
Well, when I get the tens of thousands of dollars to get a tractor and this attachment, I may as well start hacking away at the stump with my axe - I know I could get the stump out before paying off that expense. Not to discount the pleasure gleamed form watching this stump get drilled. Very therapeutic for anybody who has had to manually remove stumps. Thanks!
That attachment is very cool, but when you need a used, $75,000 tractor to run it, it gets to be an expensive stump grinder....it does a hell of a job~!
u dont need to use a $75,000 tractor for that u can always buy cheaper second hand tractors that need a little love where i live u can have a tractor up too 160 hp for under 10,000 euro that work fine and look decent
Les Johnson LOL Don't you realize how many stumps there are to grind out there ? You see the machine grind 1 stump and you think that is all.Ha ha that machine has probably cleared 3000 stumps since this was posted ROFL !!!!
Usually the average production in 8 hours of work, plantation poplar trees, is about 600 stumps. Some customers say they destroy 1000 stumps a day, but better not to overdo it.
@rotorstumper Hehe, I agree. For minimum 140 PTO HP thats about $121,000. For the Stumper I say since the way it looks like its been built, maybe at least $12,000 for it. So them your spending $133,000 Minimum for it :D.
the best thing to do is to put a stick of dynamite.my uncle and father were doing that in the eighties. you had to choose a good shelter, though. but it was very effective.
Dude, I just spent all day drilling holes in the stump in the front yard so that I could use chemical stump remover. I had no idea anything like this existed.
Uhmmmm, what happens if the stump is bigger around than the auger blades. And does it have a reverse gear? As someone who has run a lot of post hole diggers, I can see this thing getting stuck bigger than hell.
Wow, what a beast! There have been a few times I wish I had this thing. I would think you'd need a bi-directional PTO in case you needed to back that thing out.
This is a machine designed to large plantations, where you have to remove 800-1000 stumps per day, 3-4 months a year. Is logical that not good for parks and gardens
@@FerriRotor no, not really, just that everything else works clockwise. Drills, faucets, nuts/bolts. The post hole digger on our bobcat (and every other one I've seen) goes clockwise.

If this type of device was used the hold could be properly refilled with soil and the lingering problem of "sink holes" would no longer be a factor. Conventional stump grinders cannot get the wood out this deep...it rots in passing years and leaves depressions in yards and fields.
great bit of kit !! it seems to take the stump down a lot lower than the rotating heavy wheel grinders .Thanks for posting.
This thing is amazing - Ive watched bunches of those saw blade style stump grinders, but this thing takes the cake hands down! Didnt take much more then a minute to dig it right to the ground
i find this unbelievably satisfying to watch.
I could do that job 24/7 and never get bored !
Not only did it grind the stump down...but it made some GREAT firewood that will burn great!!!.

It would take a pretty expensive big tractor to have the torque to do that.
Ferri Rotor ,
They never give the price because they don't want to be sued for causing hart attacks.
Of course it was demonstrated on a soft ash tree, but still an awesome machine never the less.I wonder if it has its own stand when not in use.

wow this is so much better than those trailer stump grinders. they haev a vertical blade that grinds the stump little by little left and right.
One bad ass piece of equipment!
For some reason, I found this very satisfying to watch, also would've stopped the drill to collect clean kindling.

How much would you have to charge per stump and how many stumps would you have to remove just to break even between the two.
I have to say, this is truly a Thing of Beauty.
Nice but what do you do when you have a tough lie where you can't get a 6-9 ton tractor in?
that thing is awesome, i could use that all day
Best machine on the market for this task. Quick, clean, efficient. Why look elsewhere?
Great principle, I don't know how good it would be on large stumps? A bit big for the average garden!
This deeply pleasures me to watch this.
That was efficient and cool to watch
This is the best I ever seen. Have to check my piggy bank and see if I have enough change to buy one.
This is epic it makes me want one to just do this all day making my dirtbike trails lol!
@rotorstumper that is an expensive toy just for the odd stump you must be in landscaping?
Will this fit on my Snapper self propelled lawn mower?
Is there different sizes for different horsepower tractors? Is it a 3pth attachment?
Eight years later -are they still in business??????
Yes, stronger than before
Thankyou I needed to see what a stump grinder was as Ive been advised to hire one.

do u need to sharpen the blades after a while ??
