I bought Ikea chairs a while back and instantly thought they would make good templates for making my own chairs someday. This video just reminded me of that lol
Obviously you can make changes to the joinery to make them a little less "cheap" looking.
After getting the paint job they look really good with your table🤘

Thanks for video!!! Helped me!!! But I’m also at the end when I have to attach the seat and it doesn’t have the pre-drilled holes?!?!?!?! Two came in box and neither have pre drilled holes for the 4 screws! Am I missing something???
Thanks for watching! The seats don’t have predrilled holes, you just line the seat as best possible and then attach with screws. The aprons are the only piece with pre drilled holes 👍🏻

So the screws just dig in slightly to seat in order to keep it in place?
Yes 👍🏻 just make sure you have the correct length screws.
(Might want to check the instructions), but I think the longer screws go in the support braces between the legs, and the shorter screws are for the seat top. If you get them mixed up the longer screws would likely go through the seat

Hey I don't know who's on here but can someone help me. I ordered some chairs online that are IDENTICAL to these they are the newhaven chair from fantastic furniture I have done everything, watched this video and I am going I N S A N E. I'm up to the stage where you attach the seat to the frame but there is really strange shaped holes and I am really confused could someone reply back and help please please please
Are the holes in the chair frame you have similar to what’s shown at 3:10 - 3:20 in this video?
these chairs won't last long. it would be better to make a strong structure myself. in general, it's beautiful.
Hey thanks for your input! I agree that chairs made from scratch would be much sturdier but I think these are a great easy and budget friendly option 👍🏻
