Zenitsu is that guy Bruce Lee warned you about who practiced one kick 10 000 times. He’s actually more powerful than Tanjiro and Inosuke at this point despite using only one move, because it’s at a much higher level than all of their moves.
I love this episode because it reveals that anything badass that Zenitsu does, it is all him, he just doesn't know it/doesn't want to believe it. Every time Zenitsu falls asleep, he's able to operate and know what's going on around him because his supernatural sense of hearing. Really, the only thing that changes when he falls asleep is that he's allowing himself to be the "strong, cool guy" that he is/can be since he's tricking himself that he's just dreaming.
Personally, it’s easy for me to identify with Zenitsu. Feeling useless and that life is torment(on a much lesser degree). But Zenitsu still values his life. And perhaps on a subconscious level, he knows his use. Hence the thunder form techniques in his sleep. Something like that at least.
Zenitsu created the lightning. His master was telling him to calm down because he created storm clouds and struck himself. I didn't notice until i rewatched ten times but the sky is clear and only has clouds above zenitsu. He was already strong but didn't believe in himself. Also gramps is just a nickname like calling an unrelated guy Pops. Zenitsu said he's an orphan and didn't have anyone and told Tajiro when they met some random guy paid his debts and decided to train him to be a swordsman
@@natalimoina Tanjiro heard legit thunder from the other side of the forest and the spider demon felt the air vibrating. Air vibrates a lot which creates that loud sound when thunder cracks and produces a lightning bolt
@@kingcire1130 He heard the sound produced by Zenitsu's speed. There's a reason why he didn't see any lightning. If you think about for just a few seconds, it shouldn't make any sense for Zenitsu to be able to create magical lightning for a multitude of reasons.
Zenitsu is as talented awake as he is asleep - however, his fear and self-loathing simply overwhelm his competence. When he goes unconscious, his instincts (which are innately strong due to his hearing and which were honed by his Hashira master's brutal training) take over since his self-doubt is out of the way.
I think Zenitsu just has a human flaw, we all have behaviors we can't help, or bad habits that are hard to break. Freaking out is just his coping mechanism.
This episode is what really changed my mind with Zenitsu. After this it was just easier to like him for me even with his quirks lol I love gramps for not giving up on him, I think if he thought Zenitsu really couldn't do it, he'd be okay with that because he really was training hard even though he was scared. But he knew there was something there. 😭 Imo at this point in the series I think Zenitsu is the strongest of the three of them, even if he doesn't fully realize that himself 😂
“Why does he do it” if he’s scared? Because the old guy saved him from his debts and in exchange wanted to train him as a swordsman. Also, the lightning did not give him his abilities. He learned thunder breathing and mastered that one form from the master (the old geezer… who btw, is not his real grandfather… Zenitsu just calls him that).
I LOVE ZENITSU When he screams, I laugh. When he is honest and helpful to those around him, I applaud. And when he goes full fucking badass mode, I scream in excitement myself. The slander will end.
Why does the dude on the left laugh during cool moments? Like are you making a mockery of the anime or do you find it genuinely funny somehow I don’t understand?
My best guess as to why our 3 boys were sent in is simply that they were late to the party. There likely were reports of multiple demons on the mountain and so nearby crows sent their charges to recon the area.

No, Zenitsu does not have the magical ability of summoning lightning.

Zenitsu plays a big part in fights when he locks in man, he has a lot of great moments
