The main thing I realized from this is that random spell generation as a DK is really, really interesting because it can get you rune cards not in your deck. I'll have to remember that.
If there’s a lot of long control v control games, then Reno isn’t even that bad of an idea. Savjz put Reno in his Mill Rogue (a long time ago) with great effect because the deck could reliably draw all of its duplicates. I know tech cards are generally the worst cards in a deck, but that’s less relevant when you have 40 cards.
Reno is simply too slow nowadays and seems to just delay the inevitable. Without Jailer it would see zero play. The problem is that even if it heals for 30-40, it does nothing for board state nor create any value. You will be better off by replacing it with another control card and not sacrificing duplicates.
One of the surprising things about the modern game is that the worst aspect of running a Reno like that might actually be hand space. Draw power/card generation is so high that having a dead card in your hand can legitimately really limit you, even if your game plan is slow control.
That, and they literally have to move the damage numbers from the portrait and "pause" the game every time damage is dealt just so they can show off the animation. One thing is when you have cool animations, the other is when there's a coded-in delay lmao
Agree, and I also don't care for diamond or the new grayscale art cards. I get the appeal of fancy variants but when they don't match anything around them it's usually just ugly (plus the animations can be distracting at times in addition to looking silly in a low-action card game), if you could have an entire deck in this style it might be fine but having just a hero or a couple random legendaries look completely out of place is a very odd aesthetic decision. It sells though so we're probably just going to keep seeing weirder and weirder cosmetics, it's a lot easier to slap a $20-30 price tag on some flashy art than to make a balanced game so it makes a sad amount of sense that this is the direction they're chosen.
Kinda feel like the game is overkill about the new class rn. Portraits are too much to my taste, many cards feel way too strong, dude going to 70 max HP, drawing a lot, healing way too much, it looks pretty unfair. I hope it won't do like when DK was out and make you wonder why play any of the old classes at all.
It's pretty clear that their entire business strategy at this point is to just push as much power creep and cosmetics as possible until people stop showing up. It's sad what they've done to this great game but the writing is on the wall, this seems like a really good time to bail since it's less likely than ever before that they'll be able to dial things back after adding another new class with "do everything, but better" as an identity.
i feel like the new class is a "little bit" (LOT) to strong. in red the +10hp and draw and the 2dmg aoe at the end of turn with livesteal in blue the mana cheat great weapon and green ... yeah its zoo its ok i guess prob better then the other zoo decks out there but i belive the weakest of the 3
He's playing on a special account. You can see in the first game he's getting the first time player tutorials (like why he has a coin). For a few expansions, at least, Blizzard has been running a sort of preview, having people (streamers, etc) use throwaway accounts with everything unlocked and a requirement for their decks (must have at least 10 cards from the new expansion) to up the hype before release.
i really dont understan why people not considering blood tap as corpse consumer, its free buff even if is not worth for building around. like double blood top makes your muncher 9 10 lifesteal giant at worst
When people talk about corpse consumption, they're referring to when they have 10/20/40+ corpses in the late game and they want a card that can make use of them. Blood tap takes up a card draw, you have to play it for 2 mana but after you've gotten the 2 or whatever corpses, and then if you're only hitting 1 muncher, a couple rando minions, and something you're saving for the right moment where the buff isn't very relevant (like Soulstealer or Denathrius), it's just not really worth it. I've been seeing games where people are hero power passing multiple turns because they already don't have enough early game corpses for Vampiric Blood, or this video had Kibler passing up on playing an active Vamp Blood to save corpses mid-game for Corpse Explosion. Blood Tap is a mid-game card that competes with the limited early/mid game corpse generation Control Blood DK already struggles with, not a late-game mass corpse payoff.
@@davidlovesyeshua huge explanation why it can be irrelevent , i agree most part, but , i said it already , in some cases card itself better than for aspxyciate , or better than 3 2 weapon. like i said its not a card for build around but i ll definetely consider it as replacement in some cases. it ll not be early game tool replecament, i would rather say it is another control mecahnism as a big board creator in mid game through late game, rather tapping hero power

Isn't it weird that a minion summoned by Visage takes dmg if the opponent has a weapon but other interactions where minions hit face due to their effect don't? In fact, why isn't this concept consistent across the board? Meaning, when minions hit the face with a weapon equipped they take the dmg as if you struck with the face. It's peculiar now that I think about it.
It is consistent. Your weapon is equipped during your turn. It is "sheathed" during your opponent's turn. While it is equipped, you have bonus attack, and thus can counterattack. While it is sheathed, you do not.

I just hope the other classes get enough in this expansion that the crystallized metas are at least balanced enough so that DK doesn't predominate.
As much as I'm excited for DK, being honest this class has absolutely NOTHING to keep up with the better decks in diamond or legend (I only play wild though) too slow to be aggro, not enough early cheap mass removal to keep up with aggro as a control deck, and doesn't draw/discount enough to out combo druid/mage/rogue, the class is fine but it'll take some time for its archetypes to be refined
