This may sound weird but I love how your vlogs are full of feelings like you describe the sounds you're hearing and the taste of the food and how the sun shines and little cultural facts! This gives your vlogs a sense of warmness and closeness it makes me feel like I'm actually traveling with you! I love it!!💕
For the first time in my life, I felt like serching where I am living on RUclips, and thank you. I can definitely tell this that you see 거제 more beautiful than the way I see.
Ahhh it looks so pretty. Your reactions and stuff are so cute! I love how you just explore and kinda of get lost in it all and make the best of whatever comes your way! Thanks so much for the video!!
Hi, from Argentina! I'm regretting not having a longer stay in South korea now...your vlogs make me want to explore it all!!! I'll be arriving at the end of March...any advice will be most welcome! Thank you so very much for all this beautiful and helpful content!!!!
+Helena Jole the weather and bus times really worked out for me, it was a lovely trip (though i think one more day would have been great, one full day was enough to do all the main things on my list!)
I admire you for being able to travel alone. For me, who has no sense of direction, that is amazing. I'm actually planning to travel abroad alone sometime this year to challenge myself. I probably will get lost and end up dying in an alleyway but yolo!
+happyprocrastinator omg no I'll make a video about it but seriously the reason i dont get lost is because i plan ahead like CRAZY hahaha i map everything out to the last detail!
happyprocrastinator just throw your self out there and explore! It's scary in the beginning but you'll find that it's so much fun... possibilities are endles!! you'll get a better chance to meet new people and make grate friends! It will change your world! And getting lost sometimes reveals beauty hidden to others 😉!!! Give it a try in an environment that you feel you can solve whatever hapens...for example, go to a place where you know u can understand the language first and you can move around freely. Then tackle the more adventurous stuff.
I saw these pictures on your tumblr and I was so excited to see the video! I loved the octopus wishing me Happy new Year, that was a nice touch. Also, I don't know if I've ever mentioned but I love how your videos are a mix of scenic shots, food, and mini little stories or random events. It makes me feel like I'm really there.
+StandingStill 우와 thank you ㅠㅠ i like to just show you guys around and let you take in in yourself haha i hate how other vloggers walk you through each experience like youre a baby hahahha
Koreans are very focused at the results and the end-points that we tend to overlook or by-pass the process and the whole journey. Something we need to improve on. Good thing that you found the blossoming tree.
I love the the things you appreciate and notice and find it just amazing that they are things I would find precious as well. That Plum tree was just gorgeous ;) Love following your adventures!
WOW those places are gorgeous!! 😍 I live by the sea and the beaches in my area also have stones like that! 😊 Thanks for letting us see so many beautiful places!! 💖
The POW museum is pretty crazy. I learned lots of interesting 6/25 history there. The "Natural Art Land" place is also really interesting with some great sculptures made out of natural materials.
+el blanco _ it was closed the day i was there because of new years but I'd really like to go back. I also really want to check out the art land and a few more islands :)
TOTALLY! Actually the whole island was giving me Ireland vibes for some reason - especially the center where it was just farms...it reminded me of where my great grandpa lived!
would you ever do a vid on places to go if you’re visiting korea for the first time?? i’m coming to korea for the first time in october for 3 weeks! and i’d love to know where i should go for my first time there! love the vid
Geoje seems to be a beautiful place I definitely want to visit. And your videos are always so relaxing and your music is so on point! Thank you for those impressions ❤
so glad i stumbled across your channel. your trip has just given me another thing to add to my list of things to do when i visit korea in april. fellow starlight~ my mini concert+high touch experience was probably more epic fail than the little mishap you had with hongbin. really enjoy your vids ^_^
Im here cause i've learned that Jungkook, the maknae member of BTS went vacation on this island. Thank you for your Vblog😘..now i know why JK chose to spent his vacation on this island. It's beautiful😍 The next time i will go to Kr i will visit this island😍
Cari! I've stumbled onto your video on interning at YG couple of months ago and ended up binge watching bunch of your videos and following you on the daily! You are so engaging and sweet (: This is actually my first time leaving any comments on any RUclips vids haha. Nyways, wanted to thank u for putting up such good content! It gets me so excited to go to Korea and explore!!! And I love love the ocean, the colour was indeed breathtaking
Great video. You've earned a subscriber. I know this is an old video but I hope you figured out how to equalize the different sound parts of the video. Can be done in the creators Studio
Should have went there when I went to 통영 over a year ago. I was actually quite disappointed when I visited because we (my mom and I) thought we would see more of what you showed us... well I guess it was our fault to not research properly. Guess I Need to go back then :D
The botanical island looks quirky and so nice. Great work introducing these kind of places! True story: while watching, I started to peel an orange and like in half a second, you held up yours too! Hahaha. Had fun following this trip!
Cariiiiii uuuuughhh I love your videoss seriousllly.. idk how many comments you get (this is still keiko lmao...i need to get a better un) but seriously I wanna go to the cool places you do and i wish i had such a nice camera. it seems so chill cause i only go to daegu, busan, gwangju, and seoul but these smaller areas seem like they go unnoticed by the foreigners living here and it just seems so nice
BRUH DAEGU IS BAE. I was only there for...3 days??? and I freaking LOVED it. I get seriously pissed off whenever im scrolling Insta because 99% of the time if I see a cute cafe I want to go to its in D A E G U (or freaking jeju but thats a whole nother story) pls go to 나리꼬모, 로맨스빠빠, and Cafe Whip for me ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
새해 복 많이 받으세용~~ what a nice day! The sound of the beach against the rocks was so relaxing ahhhh~ the 할아버지 getting rejected by his dog was so funny hahaha I see you drinking a lot of 유자차 in your videos, do you prefer it over 오미자차 or 매실차??
+Odette seriously i sat on the beach an extra 20 min watching that dog hahah and 유자차 is just a good choice for me in the evening when i dont want to drink coffee and leaf tea is overpriced HAHA! I really like 오미자차 too, its so PRETTY haahah and happy new year!!
And I can recommend other better place, which is hidden for most foreigners. It is like a place really beautiful but not many people know. Not a hot tourists spot but like a real deal for those who know this place well.
Hi, Do you have a blog to blog about your one day trip in Geoje? i will be going there on the 4-6 April 2017. I would like to know more information on your itinerary. Thank you! :)
Heya! You are uploading these videos so fast!!! I definitely know some people would love to go to Oedo~ A whole island that's a garden! It sounds fantastic! The Cari Korean fail made me wonder how did you learn Korean???
i know! my grammy would really love it there :) and I studied korean at school for 1 year while studying abroad here and the rest is just what i picked up from being here!
How do you edit your videos?? You use an iPhone right? I really wanna know how you add in the words and music lol I'm not good with technology tingz :( but beautiful video btw!! Definitely going there :)
Oh and pls make more videos like these!!! I love watching your super long videos bc you're such a natural youtuber! Lol most of them always go to myeongdong and just show their innisfree drinks which gets kinda boring 🤐 have you ever made a video at Olympic park? I'd love to see that those flowers are so pretty~
hahahahahahah!!!! thank you^^ and I did but the video is a mess, it was when i was first starting :) you can check it here! ruclips.net/video/JCZmzoPdJng/видео.html
how lovely!!! this area is definitely on my list! I'm starting to train myself to travel alone, but I can get so overwhelmed by my own internal monologue. does filming help you with that feeling? also, if you don't mind me asking, what do you budget for a weekend trip like this?
+Molly Owens omg i know what you mean!! I seriously used to get headaches if i was traveling alone because I'd be talking to myself so much!!! Filming definitely helps since i can talk outloud hahaha and i plan to make a visit about budgeting but i basically map out each thing i want to do, figure out how much it will cost and then find some ways to do things cheaper haha but really travel here in korea is so much cheaper than the US!
nice! not to spoil your day, but there was a cholera outbreak in Geoje last year (June/July/August?). Be careful! should be gone by now? but still... lots of foreign big ships north of the island (Busan new port...) I love Geoje, too. But that place is just darn expensive (a meal that costs 16000krw in Geoje is only 10000krw in Haenam/Ddangkeutmaeul 땅끝마을) + Jeolla cooking, in general, is way way better than Gyeongsang cooking... ㅋㅋㅋ there is also a Kim Young Sam (the president) museum on the northern part of the island (if you're interested in that kind of thing)
omg i had no idea!! and i managed to find pretty cheap food (meals about 5,000) but maybe I just got lucky^^ I definitely love Jeolla, that was my first big trip outside of Seoul back in 2012 and it was a blast!
yeah, during that time, even in relatively far away Jejudo, hardly anybody was eating seafood (hwe 회, etc.) do you like hiking? hiking in Geojedo is a blast. there are 11 prominent peaks on the island and I've done 10 of them. the southern islands are so nice at this time of the year, no? islands west of Geoje are also great, and not that popular with tourists (which is great)...Namhae, islands of Goheung, Wando, Jindo...
there is this famous beach on the southern tip of the eastern part of Namhae called silver sand beach (은모래비치) in Sangju-myun and there is a mountain overlooking the beach (금산 - part of the 한려해상 national park) and on a rocky part near the top, there is this hermitage/buddhist temple and the view is just mind blowing! there is also a cypress forest on the island and a German village and an American village! ㅋㅋㅋㅋ we should hike together one of these days and we could drive round many southern islands ㅋㅋㅋㅋ and the bridges to Namhae are just awesome the one from Hadong to Namhae looks like the Golden Gate and they're not content with that and they're building another bridge just a few hundred meters beside it... and if you go north from there, there's Hadong and Gurye and Jirisan and Seomjin river (I've biked the whole length of this river - part of the 4 rivers, around 150 km from Imsil-gun down to Gwangyang). Hadong is famous for wild green tea and Ssangye temple and Hwagae traditional market and the Simni (십리 == 4 km) cherry blossoms road. Ah~~ this place feels like home...
Hi Cari Cakes, I am planning to go to Geoje and Tongyeong on January, could you help me with the information of transportation you used? Which number of buses and also where we could buy the ferry ticket for Oedo Island. Thank you and much appreciate it.
Oh, You went to Oedo Botania.... I saw many foreigners when I went there. It was built by one family, and still is being run by the family. Jishim-do is also beautiful... The places around there are beautiful.. I hope the music and your voice to be about the same volume... The music is too loud compared to your voice... So I have to adjust the volume or have to use earphone, not to bother next door people....
Do you do these travels by yourself? i used to travel around Japan by myself so much when I lived there but in Korea I don't feel so comfortable doing it. I should just bite the bullet!
I definitely felt more comfortable traveling in Japan (i have no idea why?!) but this trip was honestly one of my favorite trips in a long time! but yes i usually travel solo! its pretty easy as long as you have a basic grasp of korean^^
IwantedtomessageyouonFacebookaboutthisbuti'mtoomuchofapenistodoso but since the first week of May is gonna be that huge holiday week for a lot of us my friend and i were trying to find new places to go that were more..less...city-y..i guess. i'm sure there is a more eloquent way to word that. because of your video of this i really considered taking us there but when im trying to get all the naver map directions and the bus terminal stuff...i'm so confused.. you went to geoje market right? i guess there you took the ferry all the way to oedo? ;__; im trying to figure out the itinerary
Aight huuuurrrr we go: Day 1: I actually took the bus to Tongyeong. I took a bus from the bus terminal to the Dopirang Mural Village then took a bus to Geoje (had to switch buses once) Day 2: From Geoje City i took a bus straight to Windy Hill, at the base of that hill you can buy a ferry ticket to Oedo and it brings you right back after an hour and 30 min. Then I got on a bus to Mongdol Beach and chilled there. Then sort of went home slowly. the buses run pretty irregularly (like sometimes once an hour) so I just got lucky this day and wasnt in a huge rush but there are timetables on each bus stop so you can check the time and if you just missed the bus you can chill in the area for a bit. For day 3 I just sort of slowly made my way to the Tongyeong bus terminal again cause i didnt want to risk buses not showing up on time to get me to the bus back to seoul :) and i found out that taxis are very cheap there hahahaha idk if this helps buuut: www.goseoulmellow.com/home/2017/3/3/gyeongsangnam-do-one-day-in-geoje have fun!!!!!!!!
Can someone tell what’s the bus 55 timetable like between Gohyeon terminal bus and Dojangpo ferry terminal? Once an hour? Edit: I can see the bus 55 timetable here in English galetravels.blogspot.com/2019/11/a-comprehensive-guide-itinerary-to.html?m=1
quite long. [Gohyeon terminal] - The first bus : 07:05 , the last bus : 11:45 [Haegeumgang last stop] - The first bus : 08:20 , the last bus: 13:20 dispatch interval is 4~5 hours which is quite long time.
Hey Cari I am jimmy and I am coming to Korea to live, where I will be working for SanSung Heavy Industries in Geoje and Seoul @ their HeadQuaters.. I really think you could be helpful on things that I need to know prior to coming there..Do you Use Skype?? it would nice to get in touch with you...

Koreans are very focused at the results and the end-points that we tend to overlook or by-pass the process and the whole journey. Something we need to improve on. Good thing that you found the blossoming tree.

there is this famous beach on the southern tip of the eastern part of Namhae called silver sand beach (은모래비치) in Sangju-myun and there is a mountain overlooking the beach (금산 - part of the 한려해상 national park) and on a rocky part near the top, there is this hermitage/buddhist temple and the view is just mind blowing!
there is also a cypress forest on the island
and a German village and an American village! ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
we should hike together one of these days and we could drive round many southern islands ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
and the bridges to Namhae are just awesome
the one from Hadong to Namhae looks like the Golden Gate and they're not content with that and they're building another bridge just a few hundred meters beside it...
and if you go north from there, there's Hadong and Gurye and Jirisan and Seomjin river (I've biked the whole length of this river - part of the 4 rivers, around 150 km from Imsil-gun down to Gwangyang). Hadong is famous for wild green tea and Ssangye temple and Hwagae traditional market and the Simni (십리 == 4 km) cherry blossoms road. Ah~~ this place feels like home...
+Lance Corporal my coworker has been trying to organize a trip to the german village hahaha
Nice trip! I wonder how do you find the bus route? do you use any bus app? I am afraid as I think I will lost
+Nam Kim i use naver maps :) its pretty easy using that~
Hi Cari Cakes, I am planning to go to Geoje and Tongyeong on January, could you help me with the information of transportation you used? Which number of buses and also where we could buy the ferry ticket for Oedo Island. Thank you and much appreciate it.
Check out my blog post linked in the description box! it should have all the map links :))) good luck!
@@caricakes Thank you will check your blog out then. Is it okay if I asked more information later?
Oh, You went to Oedo Botania....
I saw many foreigners when I went there.
It was built by one family, and still is being run by the family.
Jishim-do is also beautiful...
The places around there are beautiful..
I hope the music and your voice to be about the same volume...
The music is too loud compared to your voice... So I have to adjust the volume or have to use earphone, not to bother next door people....
im working on getting my sound right :) sorry!^^
And I really wanted to go to 지심도 but didnt have enough time, i'll have to visit again^^;
When I was there ( next to windmill) the wings of windmill did not rotating.... For my sorrow...
Do you do these travels by yourself? i used to travel around Japan by myself so much when I lived there but in Korea I don't feel so comfortable doing it. I should just bite the bullet!
I definitely felt more comfortable traveling in Japan (i have no idea why?!) but this trip was honestly one of my favorite trips in a long time! but yes i usually travel solo! its pretty easy as long as you have a basic grasp of korean^^
cari cakes you have given me confidence! I can also practice my korean. I will get planning my next trip 😁

but since the first week of May is gonna be that huge holiday week for a lot of us my friend and i were trying to find new places to go that were more..less...city-y..i guess. i'm sure there is a more eloquent way to word that. because of your video of this i really considered taking us there but when im trying to get all the naver map directions and the bus terminal stuff...i'm so confused.. you went to geoje market right? i guess there you took the ferry all the way to oedo? ;__; im trying to figure out the itinerary
Aight huuuurrrr we go:
Day 1:
I actually took the bus to Tongyeong. I took a bus from the bus terminal to the Dopirang Mural Village then took a bus to Geoje (had to switch buses once)
Day 2:
From Geoje City i took a bus straight to Windy Hill, at the base of that hill you can buy a ferry ticket to Oedo and it brings you right back after an hour and 30 min.
For day 3 I just sort of slowly made my way to the Tongyeong bus terminal again cause i didnt want to risk buses not showing up on time to get me to the bus back to seoul :) and i found out that taxis are very cheap there hahahaha
idk if this helps buuut: www.goseoulmellow.com/home/2017/3/3/gyeongsangnam-do-one-day-in-geoje

ugghhhhh thank you...so much... i dont know how you do it but thank you man

Can someone tell what’s the bus 55 timetable like between Gohyeon terminal bus and Dojangpo ferry terminal? Once an hour?
Edit: I can see the bus 55 timetable here in English
galetravels.blogspot.com/2019/11/a-comprehensive-guide-itinerary-to.html?m=1
quite long.
[Gohyeon terminal] - The first bus : 07:05 , the last bus : 11:45
[Haegeumgang last stop] - The first bus : 08:20 , the last bus: 13:20
dispatch interval is 4~5 hours which is quite long time.
