Ferenc is a master of the art. I think that his skill is phenomenal. Possibly the only reason we see more of his sister Katica, is because she is both an excellent musician, and she is beautiful. [Smile.... it makes people wonder what you have been up to!...]

I'm am blessed to know this man. Yet new in our relationship his story is amazing and abilities are truly a gift from God. He has a very nonchalant demeanor about his playing which makes him all that more a gift for us that love real music. And for those how dont yet understand what real music is like .. thank you for walking into my life I'm blessed to know a man with such a gift... P.s. Freggin EPIC!!!!! Lol

when I read the this piece first time, I though it was a joke piece because of the crazy effects to be used. I know its extreme difficult piece and congrats for this performance!
That cellist in the background... her face... great performance, way better than I could imagine to ever play, but I think there are better out there. Still a great piece
I am left simply breathless. Marvelous performance. There are some performances and some pieces that literally stop my breathing and leave me in a mini-moment of panic, wondering whether I'll ever be able to begin again. (Don't worry, it's only a small joke. I haven't needed to breathe for seven years now.) I especially love the moments when you pause and the piano takes a solo; in all other performances of this piece that I've seen, they violinist has taken advantage of that opportunity to adjust something or other (in this case, your shirt sleeve.) I just found that particular moment in this beautiful chaos very entertaining. Again, marvelous performance.
I know a friend who can play this, he told me he had to practice for 5 hours a day for his entire freshman year to get it perfect. When I first heard that, I thought that we are a deticated species, Until I was on youtube one day and looked at some other videos, and found a video complilation of fails. Then, I started to loose hope.

Are Katica and Ferenc Illenyi related? I have never heard their performance untilo now with Mr.Ferenc Illenyi's piece here. His skill level and interpretation are excellent. But I felt that he deseres a slightly more resonant instrument. What is he using now, does anyone know? It sure does not have the resonance of a Guarneri or Stradi.
They are brother and sister, they have also another brother who plays the violin and another sister who plays the cello. By the way, this sister in this video also sings very well, very talented family.
