I love flat top Fridays and love Angela’s positive spirit.
Again…it’s such a pleasure to hear Angela play. Thank you Jen and Angela for making Flattop Fridays so special!
Always a pleasure to hear your playing Angela !! Thanks Jen !!
Now THIS is just . . .perfect! Angela and that vintage Martin just do such wonderful things together. Thank you!
Wow, that thing has presence. You guys are the best and I wish you all the best!
Beautiful Guitar,Beautifully Played,Always a Treat To Hear Angela Petrilli Showcase A Guitar.
All these years later I still miss that D28 .I am coming to NORMs and get another.
Splendid guitar, excellent picking! I had a ‘64 D-18 myself until a few months ago, when I couldn’t resist a nice old D-28 and traded it in. I’d owned that D-18 for 34 years, and loved it, but it seemed a good opportunity to let someone else enjoy it. Thanks, I enjoyed this one! 😊
Got the same guitar, one year younger that I’ve had since new. Same familiar tone, but mine is in tune when I play it.
She Rocks 100% With Expression 🤍 Turn it up people
I Love my D-18! I have a HD-28 that’s 30 years old but the D-18 just fits like a glove. Well played Angela 👍🏻.
That was a GREAT GOTD!!!
Angela looking inspired. Flannel shirt, pick in the pocket and the guitar face chopping wood. How cool is that? Awesome guitar
Great stuff Angela and Jen. Loved the big full bar chord on kashmir and using the extra finger to hold it down, was there with you urging you on
Angela! Always turning it up to11! Every flat top can’t wait! Play me, play me!😂
Gorgeous guitar
Angela is always very entertaining when she appears on camera. She is happy 😆
It's the "Little Shop" with the GIANT warehouses! ;-) Happy New Year & New year's eve! If I was back in California, I would head straight to Norms!
Angela busts out the Zeppelin 👍💪❤
Someone kills it on guitar!
Thank you Angie for another awesome episode!!
Awesome Zepplin Songs!🎸👍 Martin D 18❤
Gettin' the Led out. Great playing.
Mucho Respect Angela 🤙 Great Work Ladies 😊!!
Happy New Year to everybody at Norm’s 🎉
Thank you 😊 Happy New Year 🎊
Angela, I love you.. well your playing. I could watch you play around the clock.
Leave it to Angela to choose the right guitar in which to help unlock some of the extra Sonic potential in the Led Zeppelin catalog. Was it based upon the Remake Jimmy and Robert did for the *No Quarter* album?
Awesome, love the martin sound, and Anjela, what great feel and passion. You rock girl! Happy new year all at Norms. From HB NZ
GREAT facial expressions while you play the gat' Angela! 😮😂
Love the Zeppelin songs. Awesome 👍
Excellent guitar
Angela, whoot whoot!❤
Feeling it here in northern Ohio
Sweet
Nice , Angela.
Gotta say, when Angela opened the case and there was a clip-on tuner on the headstock, I threw up in my mouth just a little bit. But then, I also had to retune so I could jam Kashmir.
wow .. 🥰
❤
Ooohhh, I know this one 🤙🏽
Never dread the Martin D-18 um.....dreadnaught.🎸👍
35 years ago I bought a near-mint '61 D-28 with gorgeous Brazilian rosewood. It seemed so underpriced at the time. Fast forward to now and it is worth less than even many new Brazilian rosewood guitars. These guitars just never go up much. From a financial perspective, they are real duds. D-18 is probably the same.
How much did you pay 35 years ago and how much is it worth now?
As I recall, it was around $1,000 then and probably $7,000 now. @@jwtre
@@Nordic_Sky that’s not too shabby considering you get to play an awesome guitar for 35 years
At the time I bought it, maple neck Strats were $1750, and you could buy a burst for $5,000. So that puts things in perspective! @@jwtre
08:09 yeaaaah ... this hurts ! 😅
Can we try another take with the guitar in tune please...?
I had a '67 that looked and sounded like this one, the only difference being its humongous sealed Grover tuners. Too bad the top pulled up badly. Martin's fix under warranty was a disaster -- they didn't believe in neck resets back then, so they removed the fretboard and planed the neck flat at an angle that compensated for the top's bulge. The guitar was never the same, and a subsequent pricey neck reset by fairly well-known east coast luthier only made it barely playable, so I finally sold it 7-8 years ago and bought a smaller, less prestigious modern flat top that plays "like butter" and sounds just as good, albeit not nearly as "big."
I can tune a fish🍻
We need to add the smell test on flat top Fridays .My 2013 j45 smells like a church.
I mean I don’t know if it’s just my ear or what . But tuning is kinda funky, the guitar is not in tune, sorry that’s what I hear.
You’re right. It’s not in tune.
@@SuperEdge67I second that’ it was abit to flat’
✌❤🎅 sorry, it sounds kinda like an old silvertone 67 ish 😮🎄
Love Angela but she was outta tune on this one..
And just a little bit to excited which made her play a little bit to fast aswell’ but just like u we all still love her playing 😉
The Thumbnail gives Neil Young Vibes 😅
Sounds out of tune to me, otherwise very cool.
Yeah, ol fish lips needs to tune up a bit before hammering away at those those Zep tunes.
@@jskin155 Wow, you really said that?
@@rorystorm4284that’s because it was………
I tell ya guys, there is nothing more beautiful than a beautiful and talented woman, who has no idea really how beautiful she is, or plays. PS, Stank-Face!
Angie baby, you say wunnerful more often than Dinah Shore. I wanted you to play See the USA in a Chevrolet. America is asking you to call.
That guy is right Jen. I’m sorry, but the guitar is out of tune. You played it well, but it takes away from the presentation.
LoveD 18 teens..sorry but iuis out of tune..She has the panache..and plays with great vigor.Happy New Year everyone !!!!!
Can you please take two minutes to tune it.
Fire away.
I usually love Angela’s playing but this time she was a little to excited maybe? Because she was playing a little to fast on the first song’ and the tuning was a little to flat’ especially when u have a tuner on the headstock when u open the case u would think that u would be able to get it bang on I’m time even with new strings’ but realistically if u are doing a video for norm then u should make sure everything is in order’ no offense at all tho! Like I said u usually love Angela’s playing l’ she is a great player’ but this time it was a little to fast and the tuning was a little flat’ sorry but the majority of us that watch these videos are guitarists aswell so we can’t help but pick up on these things’ anyway happy new year to all you guys at Norms and also to all the rest of the fans of this channel ✌️
I dunno, professional musician with a headstock tuner and the guitar is out of tune? I’m thinking about blaming the guitar.
Nice guitar, nice girl, but again the guitar is way out of tune. Tune it before demoing, please 😢
Out of tune squared👍
Honestly, you would think she would tune the guitar. I don’t get that! Even the camera girl didn’t say anything, and yes she knows. Angela, shame on you.
I don’t want to be that negative guy……..but surely that guitar is way out of tune, both in normal tuning and DADGAD.
Sorrow is expressed through loss 😉
I.think this is the first I didn't like hearing her play
In tune relative to the other strings but yeah definitely flat. Really bothered me during kashmir
Most likely just the way the mics picked it uo
Yep, definitely out of tune, it just doesn't sound sweet like Mahogany should 😢
I have to agree with Superedge. Way out of tune in both tunings which, unfortunately, left us wanting to hear that '62 D-18 while tuned correctly. I'm sure Angela's renditions of those amazing Jimmy Page tunes would have been much more pleasing to hear. Sorry to provide a negative comment, but it was that far out of tune. Best wishes for a Happy New Year!
Norm!,, MAKE ANGELA A REGULAR ON YOUR VIDEOS!!!!
Sounds awful because it's out of tune. Better a cheap guitar in tune than an expensive one that ain't.
