If you buy a Nissan don't bother with the Platinum Extended warranty cause they don't honor anything
Scotty - the quality issues are systemic across the auto industry. It is not solely related to the place of manufacture. Heck, your last rant in this video about Jeep proves the point. Those Jeeps were manufactured in the good old USA, lol.
The batteries that cause the recall on the Maverick and broncos were made in China by Camel Battery, not Mecico! It doesn't make sense to blame the manufacturing from a whole country for a recall on 2 cars when it wasn't even their fault. There are recalls for many cars and plenty made in the USA
@@front_man001 it makes sense to me. If the manufacturer is allowing someone incompetent to make the batteries or engines or transmission ms, they are responsible for what happens and they could make it right by making a new deal with a competent company in a trustworthy country and replace the lemons, at no cost to customer under warranty.
Makes me happy I drive a 23 year old Benz. No recalls on the 2002 CLK. Runs like new. Contrary to popular belief, some Benzes are reliable. But they need to be pre 2006.
Those cars SUCK!! My neighbor has a 2003 and it's a piece of c*** diesel. It has about 50 horsepower! And everything on the outside of it, even the trim is plastic c***!!
I had the first hybrid in the US. 1999 honda insight, all aluminum, 2 door, 75 mpg, 675 mile range on under a 10 gallon fuel tank. They should make more cars like that. The only problem was when the battery failed it would cost 4k to replace and the car was only worth 2k, it drove mostly fine without the hybrid battery just lost the 20 hp battery boost for acceleration. I would think they could produce a cheaper battery today with a better lifespan. Seems like hybrids are getting worse not better with all this unneeded tech.
As local commuters go, the Nissan Leaf wasn't too bad if you're not needing to go more than 70 miles round trip daily. More intelligent than any high priced remotely hackable Tesla garbage. A basic EV + a good 4 or 6 cylinder gasoline vehicle is really all most people near / in urban and suburban living areas require.

Nissan’s poor reputation comes from the CVT transmissions they’ve forced into the US market, but if you have a manual, you’ll be absolutely fine. I had a 22’ Sentra with a CVT that was perfectly fine but a rat somehow got inside the wiring harnesses and destroyed them, so it got totaled by the insurance, but while I had it the only thing I was concerned about was the CVT, the rest of the car felt just a well put together as the Corolla I have now.
I am way more concerned about having a battery electric vehicle charging in my garage and catching on fire than I am about range. Having your house burn down is far worse than getting stuck somewhere. The Rav4 prime plug in hybrid seems like the best of both worlds.
The old Jeep Cherokee with the straight six cylinder motors are the best. These motors ran forever and cheap to rebuilt or replace! These new ones are definitely not the same quality unfortunately. I currently have a 2014 jeep patriot with the 4 cylinder motor and 5 speed manual 6 automatic transmission. This year isn’t so bad I actually like it and have not had any problems yet.🤫 I purchased it from a company that had a fleet of them. It is in ct. the rust state as far as cars go!😂. It was kept inside and serviced by them it was actually a great deal. The paint is brighter than most cars I park next to. Being garaged really makes a big difference the underside is also very clean.
I believe people would buy EVs if they were less expensive. In China, you can get a sub-compact SUV for $7,000.00 Why can't we get affordable cars?! I don't care if it's EV, I want something nice and affordable.
Hybrid electrics make little sense. Most trips are short distance where a hybrid electric would use 100% electric power. You will be carrying a heavy mechanical engine for no damn reason most of the time. Plus you are signing up for all of the headaches of a mechanical engine. Buy a short range electric car for your daily commute. They are trouble free. I’ve had a short range electric car for the last 14 years. It is a joy to own. All it’s needed is tires and wiper fluid 👌. Sorry Scotty, disagree with you on the future of electrics. I will never buy another gas powered car. Electrics a simply much easier to own. Just buy a cheap used electric car. There are some great deals out there right now. And rent a dinosaur powered car for your planned long road trips.
Scotty, Why doesn't Prius make 4 different models. My brother owns 4, 1 personal, 3 business. He gets tons of miles and replacing batteries pretty reasonable!
When Toyota refines their solid state battery technology that are less volatile, good range, charge time and if it is a reasonable price then I might buy one.
According to this guy, every car company is shutting down! That's why I buy a new Camaro and a new Corvette every year and keep them in a warehouse. And I will never run out of gas cars. And you've got to have 2 10,000 gallon tanks buried on your property!
All the 2024 Ford Expeditions are assembled in Kentucky, but the engine is from Mexico and the transmission is from China. There will be many, if not all, of the electrical components made outside the U.S. Do you seriously think that all of those computers, screens, cameras and sensors are made in the U.S.? Perhaps all the plastic parts are made here, and that is probably half of the vehicle.
My expedition is very special and is number one in a run of 100 vehicles made by Ford with 100%USA parts content. Build date 11/04/24. The engine is a Cleveland made engine. Everything including the chips in the touch screen is 100%USA made. Ford asked to trade my Expedition for a black label navigator but I decided to keep this unique vehicle. It is documented by Ford and the part numbers on the components are A-typical.
@@dentalnovember I would keep that vehicle in is as nice as shape as possible, for it is a rare 2024 Ford Expedition, as you admit. When the manufacturer offers you an "upgrade" to get that vehicle back, it is even rare to the manufacturer. I only question as to how much trouble you will have in getting parts for it in the future, and how reliable the original parts will be, since it is most likely a test vehicle. I guess that you will find out later.
Your advice is exactly what Michael Britt said. Almost word for word. My wife drives it to work but we don’t plan to put a lot of miles on it. Maybe 5,000 a year. Ford wanted it back for the Trump inauguration but we decided to keep it. A $120,000 Navigator would just be a tax liability and I just feel good owning a unique American vehicle. I promise I will keep it in good shape. As far as parts go I imagine the parts will cross reference to the common parts without issue once the parts guy spends the time to figure it out.
Maybe we will start seeing Nissan compact SUVs with Honda hybrid drivetrains. Like how the 2025 Mazda CX50 hybrid has the Toyota drivetrain out of a RAV4 hybrid.
Hello everyone, I mean the lights under the radio supposed to be green but they are red. I was told by the Kia corporation that when it turns red there’s a problem and under my radio is red Kia dealer can’t find anything wrong. Please help.
I think beyond the fact that people are not buying EV's, but now that the current administration isn't forcing EV's by 2030 markets can freely build again.
Any one says nissan falls apart theydon't know how to take care of it like never will open the hood for anything or have the oil change and then wonders y there car is broken.

Aside from their quality issues, Nissan would not honor the warranty on my Nissan Maxima. If you buy a Nissan, you better do the work and maint. your self cause the dealer don't care once you buy the car and drive off the lot.
That's why the car manufacturers are coming back to the United States Scotty because of quality. I remember when a vehicle lasted 20 years. Some even longer.
I was considering a plugin hybrid but then realised I still have to pay road tax so on top of that and the extra things that can go wrong just got a second hand ICE.
The greenies mandated EV's and hybrids as well as strict CAFE standards. The government is here to help? Government bailed out GM, Chrysler and bullied Ford. No wonder we have issues
"strict CAFE standards" - Back in th 60s, when gas was $0.25/ gal., it didn't matter much that the car only got 8 - 10 mpg. This ain't the 60s, and I would hate it if my car was only 8 - 10 mpg when I go to fill it up. The only thing that the car couldn't pass would be a gas station or an ATM.

Why doesn't Prius make 4 different models. My brother owns 4, 1 personal, 3 business. He gets tons of miles and replacing batteries pretty reasonable!
When Toyota refines their solid state battery technology that are less volatile, good range, charge time and if it is a reasonable price then I might buy one.
Dame, you Scotty you got me again to watch you talk about vehicles. 😂
25% Tariffs on Mexico and Canada BOOM
If our government had any balls they will shut the hydro and oil off flowing south!
a lot of people don't need great range , 300 enough but ford build stuff for work that don't work
waiting on EV that carry weight and range
Scotty: any word on the Freightliner pickup?
I found plenty of news that Nissan is in trouble and may merge, go bankrupt ect. but nothing that says they are closing yet.
According to this guy, every car company is shutting down! That's why I buy a new Camaro and a new Corvette every year and keep them in a warehouse. And I will never run out of gas cars. And you've got to have 2 10,000 gallon tanks buried on your property!
This is great content 🇺🇸
Noooooo 🇨🇦 over where watching too
Nissan should bring back the Titan.
Check out the NIssan Sakura, if you are going to mass produce a small EV for city use this is the one.
I had a nissan leaf, loved it, till I got t-boned by a f-150, just wish it had more range.
Everything is getting Recalled of Closing ... I am joining the Amish.... 😂 🇨🇭🇩🇪👍❤️
Electric cars NO, electric bikes, yes.
plug-in hybrid is the most unreliable according to Consumer Reports.
Nissan would be smart to just focus on their best products, pickups & suvs.
Includes bumper rot?
If auto workers are getting paid poverty wages, and can't afford to buy the products they are making, their give a dang seems to go down the toilet.
What, $5,000 a month?
Glad I got a 2024 Expedition with 100% USA parts and assembly.
@tommyhawks856
Scotty is the Man
Hello everyone, I mean the lights under the radio supposed to be green but they are red. I was told by the Kia corporation that when it turns red there’s a problem and under my radio is red Kia dealer can’t find anything wrong. Please help.
Don't buy a jeep later than 2007 model!
Is there even one American car that is made in the United States left? Other then TSLA, TSLA only does electrics :/
Sorry I missed your live about an hour or two ago your my favorite mechanic n always steered me right.
Wish it all meant this recent 💩 of discontinuing making parts for cars over 10 years old would end!!
Scotty, I can not figure out your website to submit a question. Is there another way?
I think beyond the fact that people are not buying EV's, but now that the current administration isn't forcing EV's by 2030 markets can freely build again.
Scotty hates every car maker. Lol
Don't even want a Hybrid.
Ford is the undisputed KING OF RECALLS!!! Way to go, Ford. You've completely ruined your reputation
I do roadside service and all them hybrid12 volts battery die fast 2 days need need jump started and none of the EV cars no spare tires
I still want a Datsun
Hmm, really?
Who has time for stupid EV ?? Charge ?? Hours. Hours. No way
Scotty when your channel is shutting down?
The Nissan leaf was a joke. Nobody bought them.
Lol makin batteries for 100s of years 😂
Nothing about Nissan shutting down here. Regular Scotty ehss.
Thank You Mr Kilmer 🙏👍🐕🦺🇺🇲
Shut downs? Usually the problem is the government?
Gee Scotty I have money just laying around
Nissan Just Announced They’re Shutting Down and You Can Get a Hell of a Deal…And I’m pissed.
I read today that GM made so much profit the last few years that they are giving union workers big bonuses.
Funny 😂 how Scott makes fun of Mexico for not "making" quality cars in every video... truth is American cars are just trash anywhere you built them 😅
A Nissan at any price is not a good deal! Haha! No joke, man! 🤯
Boo😅
Not true. The Sentra is an excellent car. You just need to maintain the transmission every 30K miles.
Video is out of focus or compressed to much. Lots of artifacting.
Thanks for keeping us up to date, Scotty.
Happy Saturday!
I was considering a plugin hybrid but then realised I still have to pay road tax so on top of that and the extra things that can go wrong just got a second hand ICE.
Nissan are junk. Worst car i ever owned and it was my only new car
Try the Nissan Trucks Instead!
@@geoffhunt5715 same here and dealer made it an even more horrible experience.
People are sure spending a lot of money to save a few dollars on gasoline. Even hybrids have a premium that to me is just not economically reasonable.
L o l good info
