Essential Christian doctrine . The triune God, substitutionary atonement,inerrancy of scripture,bodily resurrection,virgin birth and second coming.
It’s is by faith alone in Christ alone and his finished work. To believe on Him and His death to pay for the sins this is how we are saved, we are righteous in God, the imputed righteousness of Christ. To see and hear and understand Reformed Theology is a gift I’d say from God to be able to behold His truth.

When a person becomes born again, the churches immediately tell them they have to believe in the trinity to be saved. Then they start worshiping a false god, have a false Christ, and believe a false gospel of going to heaven, when they die.

I started off as a Christian fundamentalist and little by little, I began to acquire theological sophistication, so that my questions become more and more complex. As this happened, I became less and less rooted in scripture and more fixated on the commentary tradition, namely finding the right church and believing the right ideas. I acquired philosophical tools, linguistic tools, learning both Greek and Hebrew. I styled myself as a scholar and after nearly a decade, I believed very little of what I had once affirmed as a biblicist. As my sophistication grew, so did the apparent problems raised by the tradition, so that I despaired of even giving an answer to many of my questions, because I no longer believed that this was even possible. During that period of time, I had basically embraced almost every school of thought and denominational tradition under the sun. Many of them had learned representatives, compelling answers, though only for a season, until my appetite for more learning outgrew all of them. Were it not for God-ordained affliction, I would have perished in this torrent of sophisticated scepticism in the pretentious sophistry of human wisdom. Plato, Aristotle, Jesus, Paul, Plotinus, Augustine, Aquinas, Calvin, Luther, and all the great names of the Western philosophical and theological canon merged into a single undifferentiated voice, so that I was left with speculations all within the bounds of plausibility. Now, I have set aside all these traditions, names, schools of thought, and I have gone back to the pure study of the scriptures, knowing that only in them can one find peace and rest for their souls. The great witnesses of the tradition are merely signposts and theology too as a scientific discipline as a shadow of the realities that one finds fulfilled in Christ. No system of dogma is completeand perfectly true on every point, neither can we say this of any denominational tradition. We all see through a glass dimmly in this present age, the heart needs illumination, for the mind is a fallible guide.

Very poignant and timely here in 2024. As a confessional Lutheran I agree with the premise of this. It is not enough to just have the correct formulation of doctrine, as if it were merely an academic exercise in systematic theology per se. The correct understanding is what forms and informs the gospel which we live, teach and share, where Christ and Christ alone is truly magnified.
Which Christ? The trinitarian christ or the real Christ?

Having correct theology will not, by itself, save, but all who are truly saved will have correct theology, especially on the primary issues [the nature of God, the deity of Christ, salvation by grace through faith alone].

The holy bible was not written in English. Most false doctrines are due to translation errors or by adding and removing from holy scripture. Hello Matthew and I hope Sunday the Lord's day was a blessed day for you I have run into a little bit of a conundrum. I am just a Layman. So I wanted to go online to get some help on how to Profit more from my pastor's sermons and so I searched on RUclips and every result was about how a pastor can preach better. I would love to get your advice on one who listens and pour over what God has clearly said from his chosen vessel to His church.
Salvation is ALL about the FINISHED work of Jesus

If we did NOT have HIS FINISHED work we would ALL be absolutely doomed to hell.
If we know the Bible from cover to cover we see how God had the shed blood from animals as the picture of HIS plan for the coming Saviour Jesus.
In Hebrews it's very clear inso many passages of the " one time " Jesus paid the debt of my sins and HE then SAT down because God was satisfied. Jesus paid my entire sin debt. The shed blood of animals could NEVER do the completed work Jesus accomplished.

I think that a robust reformed theology plus comproble preaching is the best way to prevent this kind of self delusion. Salvation is not in the name of Luther, Calvin or Zwingli etc but in a living union with the Lord Jesus Christ.
I personally don’t know of anyone who subscribes to the Reformed Doctrine and believes their Theology will Save them. I certainty don’t.
Those who don't take doctrine seriously (usually because they are 'off' on some issues, and don't like having that pointed out to them) often accuse reform-minded people of teaching that believing correct theology saves.
They don't think they're saved by correct theology.they think they're saved because they have correct theology

The Kingdom of God will be on earth after the return of Jesus. The dead in Christ will be resurrected from the grave and rule on earth with Jesus as King.

Who said that reformed theology can save them? Calvin and Augustine and many others believed that new birth is essential.New birth is God’s work, from above.
Here's my theology: an in your face divine encounter and confrontation of the living risen Jesus Christ according to His word in John 16:7-9. Everything else flows from that.

The gospel is about the literal death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for our salvation, both present and future, and our submission to Christ as our Lord. Everything beyond that is explanation, instruction, and encouragement.
Yes…the Ethiopian eunuch…heard the good news of the gospel…believed…with his whole heart….was baptized…and went on his way rejoicing! Why? Because he knew Jesus had saved him…by grace alone…thru faith alone…in Christ alone…to the glory of God alone! What a wonderful Savior we have!😊

Faith alone justifies if it is empowered by the divine will of God. A faith which unites us to the divine nature saves. A dead faith does not. " If anyone saith that man is justified by faith alone meaning that nothing else is necessary to obtain the grace of justification, meaning we don't have to cooperate our will to the divine will (repent) . The “grace of justification” can be secured ONLY through faith, as adding anything of our flesh (obedience, etc..) cancels out grace. (Romans 11)
By the deeds of the law shall no flesh be justified (SIN is transgression of the law).
I think the Bible is clear, that it is impossible for me to line up my will with the Devine will.
We walk by faith. A faith that walks in relationship with Christ is a saving faith. A faith that does not walk in faith saves no one. We've never earned to being brought into this relationship. I think many Christians can agree with this

Christians, if you trusted in Jesus for your salvation. You are saved. If you reject the notion of placing your faith in reformed theology to be saved, then you are saved. Don't freak out.
Correct theology cannot save you.
But bad theology can have eternal consequences
Not theoretical. The majority of Presbyterian, WCF subscribing, ministers in the Church of Scotland during the 18th century were orthodox but likely unconverted. Lachlan Mackenzie in 1793 opened his charge to the man who was about to be ordained to the Christian ministry like this: If people go to perdition in these days, it is not for want of ministers. The clergy are likely to become soon as plentiful as the locusts in Egypt, and which of them is the greater plague of the two, time and the experience of the Church will discover.
Jesus died for the sins of all men, not only the sins of the elect.
It's sort of a mute point. The non-elect don't trust in Jesus, so it won't do them any good, sadly. Don't stress over the finer points of Calvinism. This election/predestination/free will stuff is mysterious. Trust in Jesus, preach the gospel, pray for others trusting God is in control.
@@andyontheinternet5777 You can trust in Jesus while being non-elect, because the elect are only those who will for certain be saved. One can be currently saved and not elect, as they could lose their salvation in the future.
@@christsavesreadromans1096 One is “saved” only when they’re born of God’s Spirit. Of those, Jesus said He will in no wise cast out. He said He will lose NONE of them. Also, NOTHING (no creature, nothing present or future) can remove those from the love of God.

I have read the entire Westminster Confession of Faith, reading many portions of the first nineteen chapters multiple times. This document is perhaps good for refuting the hubris of man's power and ability before God. Unfortunately, it also makes God out to be something of a bully with a magnifying glass arbitrarily burning some ants and while sparing others. Now I've been through the entire Bible cover-to-cover (excluding the concordance at the back) so I know this obviously isn't the case, but I probably wouldn't use it to shape my relationship with Jesus Christ. In fact, I would probably only pull it out to deal with someone infatuated with their own free will and "authority" on earth (using Word of Faith terminology here).
Although we do not know WHY God chooses some and not others, the scriptures are super clear that He does actually choose. It’s likely not just “arbitrary.” But He flat out says that He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy, and He will harden those whom He will harden. The Bible also asks who are you O man to question God? If He chooses to save some for His glory and condemn others for His glory, who are you to object? He creates, and He destroys. If we truly believe in the holiness, goodness, and sovereignty of God then we will stop questioning Him and simply believe and trust in Him.

@@Lonesoul9791 Except the concept of hardening requires real choice, otherwise God wouldn't be hardening a person against something. God's ability to choose and have mercy or harden is about His sovereignty in doing so, to blanketly apply that passage to all people is an unjustifiable leap which comes from imparting deterministic presuppositions onto Scripture.

@@Lonesoul9791 I'm a former Calvinist. I was just pointing out that concept of hardening doesn't make much sense if man is already born into a hardened state unable to choose. What would the person be hardened against if they're already born dead and unable to truly repent?
Are you sure? Even people in the church deny that Jesus rose from the dead. We are in a great deformation were all the truths of Christianity are being attacked.

If the devil knows scripture better than any human then who do you believe if 12 different sects of christianity all claim to know the truth? Lets go to court..... Who compiled the Bible?....the Catholic Church and the word Bible is latin its pronounced Bee-bleh meaning book. If the word of God is the seed and was proclaimed in Jerusalem then what grew at every spot Jesus was or taught?....the Catholic Church. Whats at every spot where the apostles were martyred or died?....the Catholic Church. Who owns the remnants of the holy cross of Jesus?....the Catholic Church. So first validate your church and bible before you even read or quote scripture. We all know the devil knows scripture so who to believe?....the Catholic Church that can validate everything. I can tell you that i found corruption in the US government so I no longer regard the US government as the authority of my US Navy Seal training manual. I just read it for myself and train myself. You forgot the milk from Mary’s breast…the bones of many..supposed saints! How do relics authenticate the truth of scripture..or the faith that was once and for all..delivered unto the saints? The Roman Catholic Church..didn’t produce the written word…all scripture is given by inspiration of God…and is of no private interpretation…as Holy men wrote…as they were move by the Holy Spirit….and where in the Bible do you find Popes…priests…scapulas…indulgences…purgatory…the mass…keeping of the sacraments for salvation…prayers for and to the dead…the rosary…worship and veneration of images? No where! The RCC is a Babylonian cult…in which there is no salvation! “Come out of her my people!” Rev. 18:4.

I like that winning strategy. If you were looking for feedback (but quite clearly you were not).That will never be translated properly. If it was, it would sound like one long run on sentence in german. And who has the time to learn 5 languages? Maybe all those unpresentable parts will show up and explain it, but that's just my unsolicited, unwelcomed 2 cents.
