I once got killed off in a game of Werewolf. Unanimous vote, villagers AND werewolves.
Which was doubly impressive, as I was the Moderator.

While it's a bit more out there in terms of play, I still think Trouble in Terrorist Town from Gmod deserves a mention. It takes the typical social deduction concept and sets it all inside of a first-person shooter. That alone adds so many twists to the usual gameplay. If the traitors want to kill someone, they have to fire a gun and make a lot of noise. Innocents can also fire on anyone they suspect at any time, but there's always the risk of guessing wrong and making yourself look very suspicious. Depending on your skills at gunplay, you could even clutch a game from a significant numbers disadvantage by simply fighting your way out from either side. Until one side is completely wiped out, it's always possible for either team to win.

For someone who hates these kinds of games Blaire just played a blinder on Blood on the Clock Live and Imp-erson. Got me onto this channel. Lots of cool videos and even some which I can really use, a couple of games I have on the shelf, never got round to, that hopefully I don't need to learn the rules because I just watch you play them, yay.
      Thanks for the great content.

16:25 Those Betrayal At House On The Hill character cards are MUCH better than the ones I got! I need to slide on 4 fiddly bits on each card to keep track of the numbers, and they fall off VERY easily. Where can you get these nicer ones?

I've played The Thing game (which, as a big fan of the film, I want to buy) and already own Secret Hitler. I've had so much fun with those two games! Once you convince your friends that Secret Hitler isn't as horrible as it sounds, they'll all love it! Lol I've also played the One Night Ultimate Werewolf version of Werewolf, but it didn't have nearly as much fun with it as with the other two games.

Merlin and assassin were added to the resistance too. Not sure if they were just promo releases or added in a re-release but I have played with them in the resistance. Definitely adds a whole other layer to the game.

Yeah the hidden agenda expansion plus the latest version of the Resistance literally has all the Avalon features but with a much better theme imo.
Plus there's 2 other expansions for it.

I don’t particularly like the one night mechanic of werewolf
I think there’s fun to be had with murders happening after deliberation meetings
Do you as the killers go after the person who was voting for you to be exposed, or do you used reverse psychology and take out the innocent who you convinced through your deceptions

In my experience, the more the good team think they know the more fun social deduction is for everyone. By modern standards I don’t think werewolves is a very good game, because it inevitably evolves into screaming matches because you can only go on social tells, but in something like clocktower, where you can build your aqusations or deception on information it is much easier for everyone to be involved and play.

    • @theAstarrr

And in the Resistance / Avalon, every fail for the good guys is almost always guaranteed information as the list of potential evil players is whittled down
