You can use blue film as long as it is reflective, but honestly the normal mirror film is a blank color that accepts the color that you assign to the LED light. Thanks Will for a very informative video and even better were your replies to comment questions. My first attempt at an infinity mirror I didn't use mirrored film. It came out ok but didn't show much depth. After watching your video I just ordered the mirror film you suggested I'll let you know how it comes out. Thanks again
hey, thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you found it to be useful. yeah, I just figured going into the whole thing, that the more reflective the film the better the effect would be! i just made a new one last night and my LEDs worked for about 15 minutes and then just crapped out :/ hopefully lightingever.com can replace them for me! good luck with your mirror!
You ought to make a table with this idea. I once had a Lane infinity wood table and the middle was the infinity. It was a square coffee table. The lights that were in it were the small Christmas tree lights. Mine had all clear but every once in awhile I'd take a few clear bulbs out and add color bulbs. The top glass all that I had to do was lift up on it. Great Video!
Thx for posting. I like that you loop the strip twice so the pattern is more complex. Can you paint the strip black (around the light) and it still work without seeing the white strip.
thank you, and I figured that the effect would be intensified if I made two trips around the edge. I think painting the strip would be a great idea, but it would take some time anda steady hand. I say go for it!
Hey, thanks for watching the video! I went to a company in my area that does custom glasswork (most also do mirrors) and they cut me a mirror in the size that I needed. I got the 1/8" thick type, not tempered, and with the edges not finished. The edges are not razor sharp this way, but if you get them finished they will be super smooth. This is mostly preferred if the edges are on display, like a bathroom mirror, but in this case the mirror sits in a frame so it is out of sight. Hope this helps, good luck!

Hey thanks so much for the compliment, I'm glad that the video was helpful. yeah, I figured that the double row would make the infinity effect greater and overall brightness well, better. Unfortunately I could only make it around 3 of the 4 borders on my second time around ha, but it all worked out! Thanks again for watching.

I've done more research. I think. What do you think ?

great question. 2 acrylic panels should work if you face the mirrored sheets towards each other. try to keep dimensions as small as you can to avoid bending of the acrylic, therefore warping your infinity effect. I have personally never made one using acrylic, but I did lots of research on that topic before making my first mirror. i would suggest getting two small pieces of acrylic, tinting both, and then holding them up with your hands with lights in the middle just to test the effect. if it works, then go ahead and build the real thing. best of luck, and share your results with us if you follow through on it. you have a really cool idea going.
Think of it like a sticker. Tint film works the same way. you have to peel it apart to reveal the "sticky" side, or in other words the side that you spray with soapy water and stick to the glass. the other side is the "reflective" side, which does not stick to the glass. check out 2:08 in the video. that is where I'm peeling away the backing and exposing the sticky side. after I pull that all the way off, I just flip that over so it's sticky side down on the soapy glass.
I'm really confused how come the adhesive side of the tint is on the see through part and not on the mirrored side? I'm struggling to find similar tint because I don't want the mirror effect facing outwards.
Matthew Colley I hope I'm understanding this correctly, but you 1. want the adhesive side to stick to the glass, and 2. want the mirror side facing away from the glass, therefore bouncing the LEDs color back and forth between the real mirror and the tint mirror and creating the infinity effect. best of luck to you, I promise it works. If you're still in doubt, but the exact same brand of tint film that I used and you can't go wrong!
@@willpopemusic awesome video good job. A tip to get less specks behind your tint, don't tint the glass flat, Lean the glass against something that way its in a more upright position and that way less dust will fall on it. I'm a professional tinter of 11 years, hope this helps anyone trying to attack this project.
Nice vid man! I really want to make a table like this. So question, does it necessarily matter how far apart the glasses are from each other? And should the light strip be perfectly centered between the glasses? or should it be closer to like the mirror or the film covered glass?
Aaron Mcdonald the further apart your mirror/tinted glass is away from the LED strip, the further away your rows will appear. I prefer them tight, because you get a close and bright repeating line and you get more reflections before the effect "fades away". I hope that makes sense and good luck to you!
thanks for the reply. I was thinking if the plastic coating is on the outside it will scratch easily. I have everything to make one. at 65 i still like this things.
If you want to do it dust free. You have to increase humidity in the room. If you will increase humidity using a water vapor from a hot tub - you will do it dust free.
I did use soapy water, but as you can see the window wasn't oriented vertically. The soapy water makes it very easy to make minor adjustments when you set the film down to ensure that it's perfect! Thanks for the suggestion and best of luck if you're making your own!
You want the reflective side of the film to be facing inwards, towards the mirror. That way you have a reflective surface (the mirror) facing directly at another reflective surface (the reflective side of the tinted glass). That causes the LEDs to bounce back and forth, therefore creating the infinity effect. Think of that classic game, PONG. Take care, enjoy your weekend!
sai prudhvi I used Gila mirror style film (check out 1m 25sec into the video) it is designed for use in houses. I hope this helps my friend, good luck to you!
Very sorry for the late reply. Sure, you can use any mirror of the correct size, but just remember that the thicker the mirror, the heavier the mirror!
PackardBelltoll I'm not familiar with that term but I looked up the definition. I don't think the tint film is composed of any polyester, so no, I don't think it is Mylar.
Check out the video at 1:25 and you can see which film I used. I'm not sure if acrylic would work because it has some flex to it, unlike a piece of glass. Love the table idea thing, good luck in your construction!
Wow, that's going to look amazing! It will be like an entire infinity wall, haha. Good luck, hope it turns out great. The song at 7min has been dubbed Lazy Engaged but not sure if I dig that name. It's kind of nameless at the moment, haha. You can listen to it on my SoundCloud page at www.soundcloud.com/willpopemusic. Thanks for watching!
Yep! You just want to make sure both reflective sides (film and mirror) face each other on the inside. That way the LEDs bounce back and forth and create that infinity effect! Thanks for checking out the video!
That's really cool man. Good job. Has there been any thoughts on how to maybe hide the power cord? I'm thinking about doing this (what brought me to your video) but can't find anyone who's come up with something clever to hide the power cord coming out of the side like that.
Totally agree, it looks really bad. the only thing I could think is to route it through the drywall and then have the cord come out near the outlet. obviously you want to be 100% positive about where you want to put it, and be very careful that you aren't destroying existing worrying in your wall! That would give it that extra polished look though for sure. Good luck and nice thinking!
+King SoLo No they dont. If you find one at a yard sale/thrift store, they will more than likely have glass already. If you buy one online from a place like a wholesale outlet, they will not. I definitely recommend contacting your local glass/mirror cutting business and they can give you any dimensions you want pretty quickly! Thanks for the question and best of luck with your mirror!
Derrick Lars very glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching. The tint should be facing out, away from the glass and towards the mirror so you get the bounce back of the LEDs and therefore creating the infinity effect.
Quintens Kevin that's a song of mine called "Angel in Disguise". The original was a project with vocals, but this one is the instrumental arrangement. thanks for listening. check out that and others at www.soundcloud.com/willpopemusic.
yeah me too lol. I had worked really hard on that thing and still didn't know if it would work! it was really cool to see it finished. thanks for watching and good luck to you!
Arno Chabal thanks for the comment Arno, it just takes a little focus towards the specifics. always pay attention to the details and be persistent! good luck :)
The art of competition you can make it as thin/thick as you want. the minimum would be just wide enough to fit one row of LEDs in between the glass and mirror. for thickness, keep in mind that however much space is in between the led strand and the mirror, the effect is then doubled before the LED illusion is duplicated. I personally prefer my light width to be tight as it makes the rows appear closer together and increases overall brightness. thanks for the question, best of luck to you!
You can buy one way mirror glass for the front but I found it to be more expensive than mirror film. Of cause the finish with proper mirrors would be much clearer with no chance of bubbles or dust particles that can get between the film and glass
Daniel Fernandes hello my friend, hope you are well! it is actually 1 mirror (in the bottom/back of the frame facing forward) and one piece of glass that has been tinted (in the top/front of the frame with the reflective tint facing back, towards the mirror) This creates a duplicated reflection and causes the infinity effect.
That kind of makes sense. When people tint their car windows the tint is on the outside so that it's hard to see in. So, that would indicate you want the tint facing the mirror for the effect to work.
Will Pope I had this other idea about making the whole thing interchangeable all the time. For one thing, the whole process of getting the tint on to the glass. I was thinking of just taping it down. If need be then I'll apply it to one sheet of Plexiglas, maybe to a window in my house and then make the rest of it permanently separate, a box that sits on the window sill. This way I can change the lighting configuration, add/experiment with light show devices I'll adhere with some putty or something that can be reused so the whole thing can be reconfigured on a whim. I don't think it needs to be put in a box to get the effect. For the last few months I've been copper plating quarters with the Leidenfrost effect and last night for the first time cranked up a new bench power supply and electroplated 3 quarters. I left the anode with a copper plumbing elbow in the sulfate mixture overnight, and this morning I checked it out and the clamp that was holding the elbow had turned copper and then disintegrated. I make candle and soaps and stuff, cut bottles, all of that is more technical than this. When I first began to melt wax for candles the Pyrex glass exploded, a tiny bit of wax was deposited high up on the side of the glass and the microwave heated that one part up, it was glowing but it didn't register in my mind and after pouring the candles I sat the glass down under the A/C and the cold air made the glass explode. Making these infinity boxes has no real inherent danger. Thank you for the compliment.
Sorry for being vague, I was referring to a reliable source for having custom one way mirrors cut for you, or a way to regularly purchase them at a low price.
How thick of a photo frame do you recommend ? I have attempted this and I guess the frame i used was too thick (depth-wise) and the 3d effect was not really present. It looks like you have a 1/2 inch thick frame or so. let me know what you would recommend. thanks !
the frame from this video is 4" wide. considering the thickness of the mirror and the fact that it's set in, I would say the resulting distance of the mirror to the glass is maybe 3 to 3.5 inches. If you were getting a weak infinity effect, I would think that would have more to do with not using the best tint film. try something very reflective like the gila mirror film from the video. the thickness of the frame would result in your rows to appear further apart. that's why I did the double rows of LEDs. I hope I answered your question, good luck!
+Will Pope Also, here is a 2" inch depth on this frame too. its $25 more than the 1"inch think one. www.amazon.com/dp/B00E5MS33A?m=A2HHI0M5UG3825&ref_=v_sp_detail_page Which one would you suggest ordering ?
+Will Pope This website is awesome ! thank you ! Do you think the showcase frames they have would be too thick in depth ? www.frameusa.com/product/86/shadow-box-showcase-picture-frames
thanks! there was no % on the film, so I'm not sure. it was pretty dark. if you liked the way mine turned out, then maybe just get the same brand and type. Gila mirror style worked great. thanks for watching!
The distance is a couple inches. that puts the LED strip right in the middle, an inch away from each pane of glass/mirror. You can use whatever thickness of frame you would like, within reason.. I would suggest no more than 4" deep. the wider the frame, the farther apart each ring of lights will appear, because there will be more space in between the LED and the mirror, where the reflection begins. if you're using a wide frame like I was, notice how I did a double row of lights since it was able to fit. this produces tighter and brighter rings. hope this helps, good luck!
venkatesh prasad that's a very interesting idea. I'm sure there is a way to make this a reality but it would be tricky. I feel like it would work as long as you made the image translucent. maybe it would look like a "ghost image" that is floating there! would be very cool, good luck with the idea!
There is no glue, it is just an adhesive tint film. The kind that I used is a brand called Gila Privacy Mirror Tint Film and you can order it online or in a home improvement store. Thanks for watching!
An infinity mirror is a strip of LED lights in between a mirror and a piece of glass with reflective tint film. When those are aligned, it causes the infinity illusion! Keep watching the video, I explain everything. It will make sense!
MEMO RAMIREZ yes, but they function differently. one is a mirror that is completely solid, the other is just a tinted piece of glass that allows small amounts of light through. they are totally dependent on each other to produce the desired result. good luck, thanks for the question!
hey no blame on you, it's our fault for still using the imperial system of measurement lol. I was saying that most frames are in 12" increments. 24x36 frames are common, 12x12 are common etc. my frame however, was like 27x32 or something, so I wasn't able to find an existing mirror of that dimension, I had to have one custom cut instead. it's a rather insignificant detail, I wouldn't worry about it but good luck on you're mirror!
Ok, I see. Great, French is a beautiful language! I just used a thin flat and big piece of cardboard like you would find at the back of a note pad (called a legal pad). A lot of people use a credit card too, really anything that wont tear the film will work. Just get those air bubbles out! Good luck to you in the process and I hope you make a nice one! Thanks for the question.
bro. i dun get why u need to use a piece of glass to make this mirror. if it smoothness on of the surface u could just use a piece of 5mm thick art paper which will cost less then a piece of mirror . just make sure u do it in a dst free room by increasing the humidity of the room and peel the firm off slowly making sure no bubble between. also the end products will be so much lighter to handle
Nixon Ling that's an excellent idea, I'd love to see a finished product if you go for this method personally. A lighter mirror would definitely be much more manageable to handle! thanks for the comment.
it's a thin piece of film that is reflective like a mirror. It's manufactured purpose is for home privacy, so you can see out of your window but others can't see in. Anyways, you face the reflective side towards the mirror, and when the LED light is placed in between the mirror and the film, the reflection bounces back and forth like a game of PONG, creating duplicates over and over. I'm not a professional, but maybe someone else could explain better. Hope that helps a little bit.
+PaZeL MV Channel yes, it is mandatory for the mirror to have the "infinity" effect. no problem, I'm sure you'll have more questions when you try to make one haha. I'll help you out any way I can!
+Will Pope Can you please give me an Ebay link to one of those " Mirror tint" or however I should call it? I can't find one where I live :( And thank you one again!
Hey Shannon. When I found the picture at Goodwill, I was kinda stuck with whatever dimensions the picture was. It turned out to be a really odd measurement and not something typical that is easy to find a matching mirror for. Ryan's All Glass really saved the day by being able to cut a custom size. Thanks for checking out the video!
Gila mirror style privacy control film, you can find it on ebay for about $30! The video explains it pretty thoroughly. thanks for the question, good luck to you!
Please explain the question. I will answer it for you. The lights are in between the glass and the mirror. The shiny part of the tinted glass faces inwards towards the lights, then the mirror faces inwards (also towards the lights) from the other side.
ighy03 for the "mirror" style film that Gila makes, I don't think there is a specified % but it works great. you can't go wrong with that brand and style, best of luck!
Hey Jacob, thanks man!! So I have so many tracks on SoundCloud that it covers up my earlier ones unless I have a pro membership, which I don't at the moment. Try searching it directly and see if that works, because it still is on there technically. The song is called "Placed Before" and the picture is like an abstract clown painting with a bunch of splatters on it. Let me know!
@@jacobaustin9365 yeah looks like they hide old tracks if you have a free membership. I'll be upgrading to pro again soon anyways, just got some new studio software :) take care man!
it surely can, the only reason I had a hard time is because I had originally found the frame at a Goodwill location, so the dimensions were not my choice. my mirror was a little less common regarding dimensions. if you ate starting from scratch, mirrors that are divisible by 12 are the easy ones! good luck, thanks for watching!
+Will Pope is this a cover of another song? "chill riff" i could of swore i heard it on rick and morty. im asking cause the sound cloud on is 41 seconds and i need more
+Justin Norman that's an original melody that I wrote. I never really had a song for it, just the riff repeats and kind of sets a chill mood ha. you dig it?
that would be very cool. the tough part would be protecting the glass from debris and high speeds when you're driving if it was on the outside. I'm sure there's a clever way around it, you just have to find it!
good eye, that is definitely the really messy part of it haha. I spent a lot of time deciding whether or not to go to the hardware so I could complete the interior supports, but it was a personal mirror so I didn't really mind. when you sit back and observe it you can't tell our else it would've been corrected. Thanks for the comment, I am going to make my next one with hopes of it being perfect!
Haha, no weird creatures but there is a Dunkin Donuts as soon as you walk through. Free donuts for life has been pretty awesome. Lol, thanks for watching.
+Ima Peoples Most mirrors come in standard sizes, sizes that are multiples of 12 inches. His frame was an odd size, with dimensions not divisible by 12, so the mirror had to be the same odd size...
Hey Luis thanks for watching and I'm glad that you liked it! definitely means a lot that you enjoyed the music too, it's my heart and soul. take care of yourself!

What is reflective factor for window tint film u used here??? There is several diferent factors... From 50% to 100%...
best video on this yet. what way does the reflective film go ?
thanks! I appreciate that. the film faces the mirror, so it's on the "inside" side of the glass. good luck!
thanks for the reply. I was thinking if the plastic coating is on the outside it will scratch easily. I have everything to make one.
at 65 i still like this things.
+pappy1432 ah I gotcha, and no problem happy to help! yeah keep that film on the inside and out won't scratch. cheers!
If you want to do it dust free. You have to increase humidity in the room.
If you will increase humidity using a water vapor from a hot tub - you will do it dust free.
That is an excellent suggestion, thanks for sharing. I have a bunch of humidifiers for my guitars so that will be easy. Thanks again!
Or do it like the car tinters do. Stand the glass vertically and rinse with abundant soapy water before applying the tint
I did use soapy water, but as you can see the window wasn't oriented vertically. The soapy water makes it very easy to make minor adjustments when you set the film down to ensure that it's perfect! Thanks for the suggestion and best of luck if you're making your own!
u da real mvp
No, you are Ivan. Thanks man
Which side of the film is facing out, or does it matter?
You want the reflective side of the film to be facing inwards, towards the mirror. That way you have a reflective surface (the mirror) facing directly at another reflective surface (the reflective side of the tinted glass). That causes the LEDs to bounce back and forth, therefore creating the infinity effect. Think of that classic game, PONG. Take care, enjoy your weekend!
i am having a small dout which filim did you used. whether it is a pure black filim which is used for the windows of the cars.. plz reply brother
sai prudhvi I used Gila mirror style film (check out 1m 25sec into the video) it is designed for use in houses. I hope this helps my friend, good luck to you!
Brother can you send the actual link of the filim that was available in the store
m.lowes.com
hey will can we instead of the thin mirror just put a normal mirror
Very sorry for the late reply. Sure, you can use any mirror of the correct size, but just remember that the thicker the mirror, the heavier the mirror!
Nice project, great details. Super guitar tracks, you got some skills.
Gary Bates Thanks Gary, I appreciate that. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Great tutorial, thank you for sharing.
Your very welcome, glad you got some useful information from it!
Is it glass or acrylic?
The front is glass, no acrylic on this mirror. Thanks for watching!
You could've used rustoleoum mirror effect spray can to get the mirror effect.
Alan Gonzalez wow that's really cool, I didn't know that! thanks for the tip.
Привет, подскажи, как раму сделать? или покупать готовую надо?
I'd like to try that , except make it door dimension, and some! So it looks like you could step into it! Cool video! Thanks!
That's a great idea, sounds really awesome. Thanks for checking out the video!
is this a mylar film over the glass
PackardBelltoll I'm not familiar with that term but I looked up the definition. I don't think the tint film is composed of any polyester, so no, I don't think it is Mylar.
so what tint level is best . Is tint film with silver any good or what type is used in video . I want to do this with a table.
would this work on acyrilic .
Check out the video at 1:25 and you can see which film I used. I'm not sure if acrylic would work because it has some flex to it, unlike a piece of glass. Love the table idea thing, good luck in your construction!
Good effort mate. I've just ordered enough parts to build 4 of these for 1 wall off the back of this video. What's the song at 7mins called? Cheers
The side where you applied the foil is inside right?
+Will Pope *wiring
does every frame come with mirror AND glass?
+King SoLo No they dont. If you find one at a yard sale/thrift store, they will more than likely have glass already. If you buy one online from a place like a wholesale outlet, they will not. I definitely recommend contacting your local glass/mirror cutting business and they can give you any dimensions you want pretty quickly! Thanks for the question and best of luck with your mirror!
fantastic video! I'm going g to surprise my little one with this! question, when you put the tinted glass in, was it tint side down? thanks!
Derrick Lars very glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching. The tint should be facing out, away from the glass and towards the mirror so you get the bounce back of the LEDs and therefore creating the infinity effect.
Ahhh, got. Thanks! Great sounds, by the way. Keep it ip!
cool musical score too - very talented.
Thanks Joanne, I appreciate that! I have some other guitar videos on my channel of you wanted to check them out. Take care!
What's the music that start at 3 minutes?
Quintens Kevin that's a song of mine called "Angel in Disguise". The original was a project with vocals, but this one is the instrumental arrangement. thanks for listening. check out that and others at www.soundcloud.com/willpopemusic.
I wasn't expecting it to have that effect when you were done. That's fucking sick man
yeah me too lol. I had worked really hard on that thing and still didn't know if it would work! it was really cool to see it finished. thanks for watching and good luck to you!
So hear this, the tinted side must face the mirrored side in order to get the 3d depth am i correct?
yep, exactly right. the two panes must face each other with the LEDs in the middle. then you get that awesome effect. good luck!
Will Pope cool thanks again bro for the share
No problem at all, glad so many people including yourself are finding it useful. It's my little contribution to the youtube community lol
Will Pope Yup ,keep up the good work man ,peace and blessings.
Youare a very talented guy. Congratulations and thanks to share that.
Arno Chabal thanks for the comment Arno, it just takes a little focus towards the specifics. always pay attention to the details and be persistent! good luck :)
what leds are those?
how thin do you suppose you can make this and it still have the desired effect. as thin as the lights glass and mirror?
The art of competition you can make it as thin/thick as you want. the minimum would be just wide enough to fit one row of LEDs in between the glass and mirror. for thickness, keep in mind that however much space is in between the led strand and the mirror, the effect is then doubled before the LED illusion is duplicated. I personally prefer my light width to be tight as it makes the rows appear closer together and increases overall brightness. thanks for the question, best of luck to you!
Got pictures on any forums? I am trying to do something similar but would love to see what you've done. If you succeeded anyways.
its almost done. you need a special kind of case to be able to do this haha. ill post on my channel when im done.
can you use an actual mirror or does it have to be window film?
You can buy one way mirror glass for the front but I found it to be more expensive than mirror film. Of cause the finish with proper mirrors would be much clearer with no chance of bubbles or dust particles that can get between the film and glass
what have you sprayed to stick the window film
Apoorva Agarwal it's water with some dawn dish detergent in it. I forgot to put that in the video, but I did add it to the description.
thereis a clear protective over the adhesive on one side of the film. peal that off and spray it with soapy water to apply the film
Hi friend! Are they two mirrors, one facing the other? Thank you
Daniel Fernandes hello my friend, hope you are well! it is actually 1 mirror (in the bottom/back of the frame facing forward) and one piece of glass that has been tinted (in the top/front of the frame with the reflective tint facing back, towards the mirror) This creates a duplicated reflection and causes the infinity effect.
Thank you friend!
That kind of makes sense. When people tint their car windows the tint is on the outside so that it's hard to see in. So, that would indicate you want the tint facing the mirror for the effect to work.
Precisely! I spent a ton of time rationalizing the process and it makes sense when you think about it. Good thinking.
Thank you for the compliment.
some videos use a one sided mirror instead of the film, can one replace the other?
I would assume so, and that would be ideal if you had a reliable source! best of luck :)
Will Pope a reliable source for making the mirror? thanks :)
Sorry for being vague, I was referring to a reliable source for having custom one way mirrors cut for you, or a way to regularly purchase them at a low price.
Will Pope I know a place that I have bought precise custom made mirrors before, I'll ask soon if they make one sided mirrors :)
+alx64uchiha that would be an excellent shortcut and you would have a consistent result that way. good luck :)
+Will Pope Do you think this frame would be deep enough in thickness ? www.amazon.com/24x36-Shadow-Elite-Series-Black/dp/B00E5N5AUI
+Will Pope Also, here is a 2" inch depth on this frame too. its $25 more than the 1"inch think one. www.amazon.com/dp/B00E5MS33A?m=A2HHI0M5UG3825&ref_=v_sp_detail_page
Which one would you suggest ordering ?
+Jon Dodd try here. i have actually used one of these and they work great.
www.frameusa.com/in-depth-picture-frames
+Will Pope This website is awesome ! thank you ! Do you think the showcase frames they have would be too thick in depth ?
www.frameusa.com/product/86/shadow-box-showcase-picture-frames
Hi, how many % of LVT tint foil did you use? Thank and nice job :)
thanks! there was no % on the film, so I'm not sure. it was pretty dark. if you liked the way mine turned out, then maybe just get the same brand and type. Gila mirror style worked great. thanks for watching!
Why do I think you did the soundtrack too!? Pretty good Pretty good & pretty good.
Very much appreciated, the soundtrack is all original music recorded in my room! Glad you enjoyed, thanks for stopping by :)
brother is it fully black or silver black
sai prudhvi I would say silver black.
great video man, sick results! one question, what is the distance between the mirrors? is it important?
The distance is a couple inches. that puts the LED strip right in the middle, an inch away from each pane of glass/mirror. You can use whatever thickness of frame you would like, within reason.. I would suggest no more than 4" deep. the wider the frame, the farther apart each ring of lights will appear, because there will be more space in between the LED and the mirror, where the reflection begins. if you're using a wide frame like I was, notice how I did a double row of lights since it was able to fit. this produces tighter and brighter rings. hope this helps, good luck!
thanks for the commenting and leaving positive comments, glad you enjoyed it!
Will Pope thank you very much sir
+leandro zacovichi no problem at all!
where did you get your lights at?
I bought them off of lightingever.com
had a great experience with them and they even replaced a not-working-new-out-of-box kit no charge.
Hii can we put photographs in it....
venkatesh prasad that's a very interesting idea. I'm sure there is a way to make this a reality but it would be tricky. I feel like it would work as long as you made the image translucent. maybe it would look like a "ghost image" that is floating there! would be very cool, good luck with the idea!
Подскажите что за пленка клеится на стекло
There is no glue, it is just an adhesive tint film. The kind that I used is a brand called Gila Privacy Mirror Tint Film and you can order it online or in a home improvement store. Thanks for watching!
So what is an infitinity mirror, a mirror with a glass on top or is it some sort of mirror paper HEELP PLS
An infinity mirror is a strip of LED lights in between a mirror and a piece of glass with reflective tint film. When those are aligned, it causes the infinity illusion! Keep watching the video, I explain everything. It will make sense!
so you basically need two mirrors to make one?
MEMO RAMIREZ yes, but they function differently. one is a mirror that is completely solid, the other is just a tinted piece of glass that allows small amounts of light through. they are totally dependent on each other to produce the desired result. good luck, thanks for the question!
Will Pope alright thanks for clarifying, so I guess I need to buy two then.
One mirror is like privacy glass I think? I'm not complete sure though.
What song is this?
Aaron Fletcher you mean the first one? they are all originals of mine. check out www.soundcloud.com/willpopemusic
thanks for watching!
Hey man, what do you mean with: with dimensions divisible by 12? English is not my native tongue..
hey no blame on you, it's our fault for still using the imperial system of measurement lol.
Thanks man!
+Sam De Vries no problem man!
Do you use soap and water or Windex.
I use both. windex to clean the mirror/glass and the soap/water mix to apply the tint film. thanks for the question!
+Will Pope thanks
Tyrone Marquez any time! I hope that helps and best of luck if you're trying one for yourself!
Now just turn this into a coffee table and you're set!
Yes, the coffee tables are so cool! I haven't found a source for the actual table.. sends like that would be a hard piece to find and expensive too!
what do you use for a scrapper??
+ducaking Scrapper or scraper? I'm not sure I understand the question.
Good question. The thing you took to wipe the water on the tint. (french is my 1st language)
+ducaking Ok thanks... so no complicated tools!!!
French is beautiful, but a bit hard..
could you tell me the name of plastic sheet?
Gila privacy control, mirror style. good luck :)
bro. i dun get why u need to use a piece of glass to make this mirror. if it smoothness on of the surface u could just use a piece of 5mm thick art paper which will cost less then a piece of mirror . just make sure u do it in a dst free room by increasing the humidity of the room and peel the firm off slowly making sure no bubble between. also the end products will be so much lighter to handle
Nixon Ling that's an excellent idea, I'd love to see a finished product if you go for this method personally. A lighter mirror would definitely be much more manageable to handle! thanks for the comment.
Beautiful pay off .. really cool. Thanks
Thank you! I was definitely happy with the finished product!
What is this kind of paper in 2:00 ? Why do i need this?
it's a thin piece of film that is reflective like a mirror.
+Will Pope So this is a must have thing to make the infinity mirror?
And thank you for the answer !
I can't find one where I live :(
And thank you one again!
+Will Pope .
Why can't the picture frame not be divisible by 12?
Hey Shannon. When I found the picture at Goodwill, I was kinda stuck with whatever dimensions the picture was. It turned out to be a really odd measurement and not something typical that is easy to find a matching mirror for. Ryan's All Glass really saved the day by being able to cut a custom size. Thanks for checking out the video!
WHAT was THAT black FILM
Gila mirror style privacy control film, you can find it on ebay for about $30! The video explains it pretty thoroughly. thanks for the question, good luck to you!
Another one which does not tell us which side faces the lights?
Please explain the question. I will answer it for you.
The lights are in between the glass and the mirror. The shiny part of the tinted glass faces inwards towards the lights, then the mirror faces inwards (also towards the lights) from the other side.
Did that answer your question?
how tinted should the foil be ? (%)
ighy03 for the "mirror" style film that Gila makes, I don't think there is a specified % but it works great. you can't go wrong with that brand and style, best of luck!
thank you !
Yes I just went and brought more real tint 2% and 5% I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong it must be to deep I have rgb lights and all
Came here for the mirror, stayed for the soundtrack!!! Checked you out on soundcloud! What was the name of that first track?
Hey Jacob, thanks man!! So I have so many tracks on SoundCloud that it covers up my earlier ones unless I have a pro membership, which I don't at the moment. Try searching it directly and see if that works, because it still is on there technically. The song is called "Placed Before" and the picture is like an abstract clown painting with a bunch of splatters on it. Let me know!
@@willpopemusic AHH I gotcha! I gave it a shot, but unfortunately I couldn't find anything :(
@@jacobaustin9365 yeah looks like they hide old tracks if you have a free membership. I'll be upgrading to pro again soon anyways, just got some new studio software :) take care man!
@@willpopemusic Oh sweet! sounds good, let me know when you do. You do the same!
Excelent work done with that mirror!! It's fantastic,i'll make one for my self one of this days. Greetings from Mexico city pal!
Alexander Garcia thank you Alexander! enjoy making your own, they make a fun project!
Am going to build next up coming weekend just for the fun of it,... Hope it went well and i will gladly post yah gratitude idea !
Nice work
What is the name of that film ?
It's called Gila Privacy Mirror tint film. Thanks for checking out the video!
@@willpopemusic where can I buy that kind of film?
Why can't the size be divisible by 12 ?
it surely can, the only reason I had a hard time is because I had originally found the frame at a Goodwill location, so the dimensions were not my choice. my mirror was a little less common regarding dimensions. if you ate starting from scratch, mirrors that are divisible by 12 are the easy ones! good luck, thanks for watching!
Love the acoustic!
Thank you! One that is hanging on the wall at the end of the video or was it a particular melody from the audio?
SHOCKING RESULT! IT'S SO AWESOMEEEEEEEEE!!! 😃
Thank you! I agree, it turned out even better than I had hoped. I think the double layer of LEDs really did the trick 😊 thanks for watching!
@@willpopemusic i'm your new follower and subscriber... 😃
Love this idea, and your music too.
Sara Me Thank you on both counts.. always nice to hear from somekne who enjoyed the music, it's a little closer to my heart than the mirror!
Nice made
Thank you!
Whats the first song?
it's called "placed before". I wrote it and have it on my soundcloud Www.soundcloud.com/willpopemusic
@Will Pope Wow! amazing work! thank you for the link :)
+Drayton Swan my pleasure, thanks for the comment! Glad you like it.
Great job will !!!. This will be my next project . Thank you.
Thank you! Hey best of luck, make a really awesome one and post it!
Awesome thanks just want i needed from photography final piece of work
Awesome, I'm happy that it explained everything clearly to you!
and thanks for watching!
SONG AT 7:10, i searched every song on the sound could and no match
there you go, check it now. it was on another one of my pages but I reposted!
+Will Pope is this a cover of another song? "chill riff" i could of swore i heard it on rick and morty. im asking cause the sound cloud on is 41 seconds and i need more
+Justin Norman that's an original melody that I wrote. I never really had a song for it, just the riff repeats and kind of sets a chill mood ha. you dig it?
+Will Pope do a full song with that feel, that would be amazing
+Justin Norman yes sir, I'll see how I can evolve it. thanks for the suggestion!
i want to put this on the back or side of my car! it will look cool adding depth on it.
that would be very cool. the tough part would be protecting the glass from debris and high speeds when you're driving if it was on the outside. I'm sure there's a clever way around it, you just have to find it!
It looks messy in the corners, I guess that if you make the inside wood strips that separate the mirror and the glass it would have looks much better.
good eye, that is definitely the really messy part of it haha.
Has anyone here tried the spray on mirror paint to make the 2 way mirror in front? Results?
The spray on mirror paint is only reflective on one side and dull grey on the other therefore you can not see thru it
Did any weird creatures come through your portal? :-) Lovely work.
Haha, no weird creatures but there is a Dunkin Donuts as soon as you walk through. Free donuts for life has been pretty awesome.
Lol, thanks for watching.
why not divisible by 12?
+Ima Peoples Most mirrors come in standard sizes, sizes that are multiples of 12 inches. His frame was an odd size, with dimensions not divisible by 12, so the mirror had to be the same odd size...
+Steve H thank you for answering that, couldn't have said it better myself!
Very cool - very very cool. Thanks for your time and video.
Bobby Millionaire your comment is worth the effort that it took. Glad you found it helpful and best of luck to you!
Top job thanks for that I'm going to have to build one now...
Cool, glad you're going to do one yourself. let me know if you have any tips when you finish and good luck!
I'm having a hard time finding a thick enough frame online
either find one at a local Goodwill or try this site. good luck!

Thanks, I'll check it out. I might end up making one out of some old wood I have lying around.
took me a lot longer to do my first one .great job
