  • Ingramatic expands the family of the new I-Thread models with the introduction of its W60 size machine, the RP820-M.
    ‎As announced at the beginning of this year, Ingramatic continues to introduce more I-Thread models due to the large success of their rigidity, precision, flexibly and very fast changeover. The first I-Thread for 2014 from the Ingramatic assembly lines is the RP820-M, created for the rolling of structural bolts for the automotive, truck and the construction industries.
    The RP820-M is designed to run heavy parts after heat treatment from M18 up to M24 and up to M27 for not treated parts.‎ This revolutionary thread rolling machine features a lot of innovations like the double starter unit with its exclusive self-learning adjustment. To start the starter fingers' adjustments, the machine goes automatically to the zero location of the slide body to place all systems in the setup position. The technician simply places a blank in the starting position between the dies and using the electronic hand wheel, moves the starter fingers to touch the blank and then with a quick click on the touch screen panel, saves the adjustments to the machine's PLC system. The setup of the starter unit can be completed in less than 2 minutes without any hand tools!
    The electronic handwheel can also be used to make the feed rail adjustments in width and height for a precise set-up to ensure the perfect feeding of the starter unit and to guarantee the ‎highest possible speed production rate.
    The Ingramatic R&D Department has also provided a simple and radical quick adjustment solution by using spacer sets according the bolt diameter which has to be rolled. With this clever system, the tool holder does not require any adjustment when changing the part diameter. Through the touch screen controls, the technician releases the hydraulic clamping and exchanges the spacer according the bolts diameter. The four graduated adjusting screws are used to fine-tune the stationary die to obtain a perfect screw geometry... it is simple, quick and efficient.
    Regarding the quality of the parts, it is also possible to adjust the die match using the electronic handwheel to control the motorization for the drive unit positioning, without the use of hand tools. Ingramatic has made the die match adjustment intuitive, precise and very fast.
    A rejection device connected to the load monitor automatically separates the defective parts detected by the load monitor from the good parts.
    When making heavy parts it is critical to avoid any damage to the threads. For this reason, Ingramatic supplies an additional horizontal conveyor to provide a soft landing system for each threaded bolt.
