Bisping is a good test (same size, tough, possibly better boxing), Silva (better boxing, same size, tough), Tommy (same size, better boxing). Boxers fill up their early careers with cans thats essentially what Jake is doing. He does need to fight someone his own size/age/skill here soon though. If Jake can show up in a fight against a young actual boxer this year his career could take off.
Jake isn't even average, honestly. Plenty of guys in any boxing gym could catch him because Jake is only exposed to certain types of boxers that he could do well against. He's good for a social media boxer but when you're talking amateur/pro, the guy isn't that good. People talk about that Woodley fight. The first one was close, the second one was boring. I had Woodley winning that fight until Jake landed a clean one. That second fight actually exposed Jake even more because it showed he was one-dimensional and lacked stamina. The only reason boxing pros even entertain Jake Paul at this point is because he is EASY money. Canelo could wake up after a few months of chugging tacos and Jaritos and put him out in one round.
Jake actually isn’t “bad” considering he’s learning fast, has natural knock out power and knack to pick up some fundamentals. But having trained only a few years, he is definitely by professional standards “average”, even a bit below average. Which actually isn’t exactly a diss considering how little time he’s had boxing. However, it would be a lot harder to find a professional that Jake can confidently beat in his weightclass, and who knows how long the list would be naming the pros that can.

The average boxer ALWAYS fights jobbers at the start of their careers, padding up their records and building their confidence up, you'll see 10-20 KOs on the average boxers record early in their career. Let's be honest, Jake had a good punch against Tyron but the rest of the fight prior he looked real sloppy. His combinations weren't smooth and snappy

Bisping is a good test (same size, tough, possibly better boxing), Silva (better boxing, same size, tough), Tommy (same size, better boxing). Two ufc fighters and basically an amateur boxer, three fighters who we could see another level of his skills. The thing is he has talked himself into a situation where he has to fight someone who is a massive level up from Woodley and I mean massive. He looked bad against Woodley before the ko, someone with more than one punch, his size and can take a punch, I think will make him look silly.

Jake isn't even average, honestly. Plenty of guys in any boxing gym could catch him because Jake is only exposed to certain types of boxers that he could do well against. He's good for a social media boxer but when you're talking amateur/pro, the guy isn't that good. People talk about that Woodley fight. The first one was close, the second one was boring. I had Woodley winning that fight until Jake landed a clean one. That second fight actually exposed Jake even more because it showed he was one-dimensional and lacked stamina. The only reason boxing pros even entertain Jake Paul at this point is because he is EASY money. Canelo could wake up after a few months of chugging tacos and Jaritos and put him out in one round.
Jake actually isn’t “bad” considering he’s learning fast, has natural knock out power and knack to pick up some fundamentals. But having trained only a few years, he is definitely by professional standards “average”, even a bit below average. Which actually isn’t exactly a diss considering how little time he’s had boxing. However, it would be a lot harder to find a professional that Jake can confidently beat in his weightclass, and who knows how long the list would be naming the pros that can.
