    TOUCHE'!!!! What you said about us standing in our own way is key, because you are absolutely right, there are no limitations to what we can achieve or do but only the limitations we place upon ourselves.& our own minds. This was magnificent ! And yes, I would love for you to expand on this. Thank you sooooo very much, Clare!You are simply wonderful!

I was always so busy and i never really didn't have time to focus on myself...i always took care of my skin in general and i tried some non surgical treatments so that helped..but i started eating differently..using sunscreen more often and people were noticing the difference...my skin looks like its glowing..and i got a beautiful comment that i was looking younger . from several people.so that really helped to keep up with my routine..lol..

    I will be 41 in June and though I have had some semblance of a skincare routine since at least my mid 30s, I never used to wear sunscreen and I didn't really know what I was doing until about a year ago when I kicked it into high gear. Turning 40 was scary for me and made me realize that I needed to up my skincare game. I now know so much more about the products I use, when to use them, what they do etc and I've incorporated red light, microcurrent, (started with Nuface and graduated to the Myolift Mini which I LOVE) radio frequency (NEWA) and I got on prescription tret. My skin has never looked better and it seems to continue to improve! I'm 36, so only just starting to see the signs of aging, however I've been poorly which has greatly affected my energy, and I missed out on a lot of my 20s, so feel like now I need to reclaim my life, but I don't feel like my head is in the right place. I’ve been using Dermatica tretinoin for two months now so I will film a video in another month or so. • @thehonestchannel
      @thehonestchannel  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! As you know, I also have naturally hooded lids which I’m not unhappy with, but when the skin started to sag it became problematic. At 32, I would start with retinol to preserve and strengthen the skin. I had Tixel thermal ablation which lifted the lids but I think caused volume loss. Unfortunately, surgery remains the most effective solution if your lids are really bothering you.

    Hello my name is Sandy, this is my husband's channel I'm commenting through. Claire I have a quick question. I'm in the market to purchase a micro current device. I'm caught between the NuFace and LUMO. They both are a large investment and I want to get the best one fir my money. If you were to pick one which would you get? I have wrinkles, line, sagging the whole 9 yards. I'm also 50. Love your channel. Keep up the good work!

    • @thehonestchannel
      @thehonestchannel  2 года назад +1

      Hi Sandy! It’s tricky to recommend one device over another but if you’re looking for something that it’s going to give you more obvious results then I would go with the Lumo. It has EMS for muscle stimulation and tightening but the RF really does help plump your skin. Using it a couple of times a week initially should make a difference.

    Sorry but I think you looked better and younger at 39 - but good job on your efforts

  • @tuffstuff2U
    @tuffstuff2U 2 года назад

    With all due respect, I think you're deluded if you think that your current picture looks better than you did 10 years ago. You had plump natural facial fat a nice full jawline and cheeks. How do you think you look better now 10 years later? in your after picture you have an accordion appearance to the sides of your lower cheeks where you didn't before. I looked at videos of you 4 years ago and you had more facial fat than you do now. Facial fat is an indicator of youthfulness, so I don't understand by which metric you are judging your pictures now.
    I see you're selling a great deal of affiliate links so I as a consumer would love to know how you think you look better now than you did 10 years ago, specifically. You're kind of mixing journalism with marketing here.

    • @thehonestchannel
      @thehonestchannel  2 года назад +1

      I’ve set out in the video why I feel better at 49 than I do at 39. I don’t think I look younger and that’s not my intention, it’s that I feel and appear more radiant - confidence probably plays a part too.
      As for affiliate links, they help me keep this channel independent. I am very up front about using them - and I include them whether I recommend a product or not. I see no conflict. They are used widely across news media outlets so this is pretty standard in journalism and helps support it.

    • @tuffstuff2U
      @tuffstuff2U 2 года назад +1

      @@thehonestchannel in retrospect I realized I came off as really direct in my statement, and for that I apologize. I think it'd be one thing for you to say that you *feel* better at 49 than you did it 39 - and you did say that you like the fact that you lost some facial fat loss as a personal preference with the Ultherapy. But to say that you have more youth indicators at 49 than you do it 39 is just not true and that's the point I was trying to make.
      I think my directness reflects my frustration with what some women aesthetically define as being more "youthful". So many women across the board on (including celebrities such as JLo) are losing precious facial fat by using these lasers and they equate this to having a more lifted and defined look when really that diminishing facial fat is precipitating the aging process. When you look at JLo in sunlight without filters her face looks very hard and masculinized to the point where her forehead bone is protruding on her forehead. You have to look deeper beyond the smoke and mirrors because everything is filtered online. Not to mention so many people are often using fillers to disguise the laser damage so it's hard to see what's really going on.
      Women have to get fillers or facial fat transfers to try to replace that volume, which not only pays the industry but keeps them on a hamster wheel. At the cost of appearing more contoured their faces look bonier. They're reaching for a temporary solution but not understanding that with every decade they're already going to lose facial fat. Yes, while that volume can cause sagging I think the better solution is to leave the tissues intact and instead reach for a deep plane lifting facelift when the time is right. Using these high energy devices repeatedly is not going to be a long-term solution, in fact it can actually exacerbate the problem down the road.
      There are many doctors who specialize in laser damage repair who talk about the kind of contractual deep thermal burns they see when they try to move those deeper planes with surgery, which only complicates optimal results.
      You seem like you're on an honest journey to discover the truth which is great but maybe what the real story is is the damage that these devices can cause too. I see you touched on that when you did the interview with the doctor, so that is awesome. Maybe you could interview some women who've actually had negative results that have impacted their lives because I don't think their stories don't get told enough - especially against the mountain of marketing and social influencing that promotes it as being great. I guess I've witnessed the damage first hand and read too many stories to not know the other side.
